The Avios Zazzy is everything you want from a sports model and more. The Zazzy is a true sport aerobatic model that will do just about every trick in the book. With a large tapered wing, combined with a long and generously sized tail, the Zazzy's flight characteristics are docile enough for newer pilots, while still agile enough to keep even a veteran sports pilot on their toes.

The key feature of the Zazzy is the hollow molded LiteCore wings which drastically reduces the model’s all up weight.  It's all bolt together construction means you can be flying your Zazzy within as little as 20 minutes from the time you open the box. Assembly time at the field is also drastically cut down thanks to the inclusion of the no hands PCB connectors at the wing roots, so no more fussing around with aileron servo extensions.

The Zazzy is plug and play, with decent electronics fitted throughout the model including all digital metal geared servos.  An Aerostar 3550 motor paired with a 50A Aerostar speed control, spinning a 12x6 carbon fiber propeller in a combination that provides this model with vertical performance with plenty in reserve.

A carbon fiber wing joining spar, easy access hatch, cushioned plywood battery tray and durable aluminum landing gear speaks volumes for the overall quality of the design and rounds out the Zazzy into a fantastic model aircraft that is every inch an RC pilots dream sports plane.

You'll really enjoy ripping up the sky with the Zazzy. Easy to transport, quick and no fuss setup With great flight characteristics. If you're just getting into aerobatic flight then the Zazzy is an awesome way to start!

Overall Great plane

Jun 13, 2018

I have been flying the Zazzy for two months and this has become my favorite plane. It is very stable and also super responsive. I fly off of a grass flying field and my only problem was learning to touch down earlier because this plane rolls longer than the planes I was used to. I did damage the landing gear twice running into the tall grass at the end of my club's grass field.

have constantly flown the zazzy since I bought it I am a life member of the Manning Model Aero club . Several members have been trying to buy one for themselves. coming from overseas the freight has been excessive and others have said constantly out of stock. They are a good model fly beautiful and easy to land and do all the tricks I want to do .

Great value and better performance.

Oct 03, 2017

I have just maidened the Avios Zazzy and I must say I am impressed.
It arrived in quick time and in good condition. There was one compression mark, thumb size under one wing but that was the only blemish on a very neat and very well presented airframe.
The build was very quick and straight forward.
The wing mounting is with four screws and it is a pity there aren't say two spare screws in case one is lost. The servos in the model are metal geared and the wing servos were installed and connected in the box.
The tail wheel system is very good in my view as it takes the load off the rudder, but the mount hole required a little elongating to relieve load from the rudder servo.
I purchased a Turnigy nano-tech 4000mha 25-50c lipo and the model performes well with this combo.
I was impressed straight away, very precise flight characteristics and minimal trimming required. The slow fly past was very controllable and no wing drop in sight. When you ask it to go it goes and the roll rate etc is very good and precise even at just 55% throws.
I must admit I didn't get my other plane out, I just recharged the battery and it was up and away again. I did have one wheel axel screw come loose and nearly fall out after three landings, but I have locktited them in position and these must be checked before flight as will the undercarriage mounting screws.
Over all I am very pleased with this model. Slow flight is very good and it carries out aerobatics very well and it is very precise.
My new favourite model for sure.
I bought this plane on sale at $170.00 from the Oz warehouse and I'll keep my eyes pealed for the next sale price and I'll buy another for sure.
In my view this will become the must have club sport plane.
Check it out, you won't be disappointed.
Highly recommended.

Nice plane but needs a few mods to be flyable

Oct 01, 2017

This is a very nice plane that flies well as many have already stated so I’ll focus on what I found necessary to get it flyable.
The box was perfect and condition was good on arrival with a few dings, one deep one under the leading edge of a wing that doesn’t come out with boiling water, which is disappointing. There are also some odd wrinkles in the foam in front of the canopy. The canopy latch has paint in it and barely moves. Still not sure how I’ll correct that but for now it just requires a lot of slow pressure. The wing servo connectors are a nice idea but not necessary on a 1300mm plane. I’ll likely never remove the wings for normal transport. That and there are 3 connection points between the servo and receiver plus the solder joints on each of the circuit boards. Too many points of possible failure in my opinion so I removed the whole assembly and used a simple Y-connector which reduces the number of extension connectors to 1.
The biggest problem was the tail wheel which has been an ongoing issue others have mentioned as well. It’s a good design but not constructed well enough to use without modification. The two connecting rods with Z-bends at each end are too short and won’t allow the rudder pivot point to align when the metal mount is attached to the tail boom. I made new connecting rods and used stop-links at one end to allow adjustment of the assembly. This works well. Another issue was the metal arm piece at the back wasn’t properly aligned on the tail-wheel shaft making the wheel crooked to the rudder. The shaft is keyed and the arm held in place with a set screw. I used a cutoff wheel to grind a different angle on the shaft. The stock set screw stripped when being reinstalled. Fortunately a higher quality black steel one held.
I’ll install some skids at the wingtips but other than that it’s good to go. Very pretty and well-designed plane overall.

Great quality straight out of the box

Aug 14, 2017

Picked up the Zazzy during the recent sale. Have been looking at her for a while and am glad I am now a proud owner. Would be the best packaged model I have ever bought from any supplier with a good instruction manual
Very straight forward assembly, love the digital servos, very generous wing spa and the quick gold alieron connectors make the wings effortless to fit at the field enabling easy transport, although I changed out the supplied wing screws for the allen key type
Very nice power train set up, great with the supplied carbon fibre prop which required balancing
I agree that the tail wheel assembly is a little difficult, probably over engineered in my opinion but with a little patience and modifying, it works ok although I think the rudder could do with more travel. Even though the model is PNP, I went over everything during the assembly for peace of mind. Maiden was a breeze with only slight trimming required, running a 4000mah fairly well forward with added velcro as I could slide the lipo with the strap fastened. The Zazzy has no nasty tendencies, plenty of power, take off's and landings were awesome and doesn't mind windy conditions. All in all deserves 5 stars, thanks Avios and HK, would recommend!

Great flyer but quality could be much better

Feb 09, 2017

Today I flew Zazzy for the first time and yes, I have to agree, it is a great airplane to fly. However, the finish and quality of this product has a lot to desire for. At the third take off one of the wheels fell off including cowling. I had to discover, the threat at the landing gear was way to large for the wheel axel. In my opinion this is a total stuff up. I had to re-glue the decals are at the wings leading edge and at the tail plane. There is a gap of about one millimetre in between the fuselage and the tailplane assembly. Generally I found many indents and cuts at the wings and fuselage making this plane look very much like second hand . To fly Zazzy is a delight, even at windy conditions. I feel Zazzy is slightly underpowered but this is of course a matter of personal preference. I flew Zazzy with dual rate of 100% and 50%. My overall impression: Zazzy is not a beginners plane but suitable for most pilots out there. Quality: thumps down.
