Please can some one recommend an ESC and pinion for a Mini CP upgrade. Thanks
 Marcos_ 126 points
Go to rcgroups **** and search for "1616585". Its the thread of converting to brushless and a lot of tests.

Does anyone know what size motor mount fits best for this motor? Making a micro planes with this motor in mind.
Alex  1 points - 4/26/2013

Max Voltage is stated at 42v !?!? anyone know the true max voltage for this one?
 PeteDee 198 points
That is 4 point 2 volts, will only work on single LiPo cell.
mark michael  3 points - 4/18/2013

well this motor fits in walkera super CP?
 Measuredpath 25 points
Yes, C05 is the standard aftermarket fit
FaHrStUhL  126 points - 4/13/2013

will this fit the original mCPX frame or do i have to have a tuning frame?
 FaHrStUhL 126 points
doesnt anyone know?
 PeteDee 198 points
Will fit original frame.
 FaHrStUhL 126 points
i just received the motor, i had to do alot of cutting to the frame to fit the motor in. I guess i lost alot of stability to the frame, but i'll see after a testflight. But i think i will have to go for a Carbon/Delrin frame sooner or later...

Both of mine came with mounting screws, I would highly recommend purchasing extra screws anyway, it's nice to have a stock pile of parts while working on these little helicopters, also I highly recommend these motors, my 2 upgraded mcpx's are much more stable and maneuverable now. A better upgraded tail motor and frame is a must also!
edster  36 points - 10/5/2012

Thanks gary
 edster 36 points
Well gary it does come with mounting screws.
 Gary 3065 points
Do not wish to argue but the one I looked at did not have any screws supplied with it!!
 edster 36 points
I dont want to argue, just stating mine came with two screws.
 Alex 1 points
just got mine, it came with 2 mounting screws,...
 PeteDee 198 points
So it has been an argument and some come with screws and some come without screws, some get screwed and some don't.
Sebastian  14 points - 9/2/2012

Hello! Does this motor come with pre-soldered connectors for the "Dual Brushless ESC for MCPX"? Thanks Sebastian
 450 trex 103 points
no you'll need to buy and solder connections your self though the best and safest way about it is to solder the wires directly together
 nitrox88 76 points
you can strip servo connectors (same size)
Daniel  7 points - 8/13/2012

Can someone say me what i need for a mcpx brushless conversation the 2 motors and???? Would be nice to get a manual or pics how i have to install it thanks
 anza 2 points
Hey, good choice with the c05m. You will need the motor ,a pinion for it (i recomment 8 tooth) and an esc. Best way to go for an esc is an xp-7a that has been flashed with blheli code. You can find these all ready to go on eBay. Also some double sided tape to attach the esc. Also will need soldering equipment, as there is some precise soldering required. Instructions can be found on the internet, and several rc forums. Good luck!

I have M5 with 1mm shaft. There is a gearbox that i can buy from hobbyking to use this motor on a micro plane? Thanks!
 Skeetch 68 points
There is a ready-made www.link as you can find yourself more or less the right gear - www.link
PeteDee  198 points - 3/26/2012

So what size is the shaft really, standard one is 1mm, up top it says 1.5mm, in the chart it says 2mm.
 Sheek 49 points
It's 1.5mm for sure.

 jarrod 1 points
GOOD question. Wows website says theirs is 1.5mm. But why does this website give 3 sizes?
 PeteDee 198 points
WHat I dfind is hilarious is that they list the voltage as 42 volts, yeah sure it can.
 PavlovRC 80 points
I wonder what would happen if you put 42 volts through it!
 Alex 1 points
caliper verified, 1.49mm shaft

HI All.. i would like one of these but not sure how to fit it to my mcpx? any body know of any sites with pic etc explaining how to do this, and allso what esc would you use ?..the 5A/1s or 2s esc?..any help from somebody that really knows what be great ..Thankyou.
 viperdgts 2 points
hello, it very easy. take a hobby knife and just trim away some plastic around the bottom and make it so the motor sits flush. keep test fitting till you have the right space. it works great with a 7a esc and brushless converter. or get a 10a with the built-in converter wich i just ordered..
 PeteDee 198 points

 rromans 18 points
do not use this motor on stock frame.you have to cut too much of the frame. it is ok for 3rd party frame like MH frame.
For stock frame look for AEO M5 motor, it has a special flange that works well with stock frame.
 anza 2 points
You can purchase frame reinforcements for the stock frame that work great.
Magicmole  21 points - 10/23/2011

I want to use this on a plane, because its the cheapest 1s motor available on HK. What prop can i use? 4x3? or 3x2? or what? Please reply. :)
 __Ufir 18 points
Its not really suitable for plane directly due to big kV. You have to find reducer.

I bougth this motor to mount on a cb100 and it doesn't work. I've tried with stock esc and blue arrow 6A esc and motor have erratic movement with both esc's. Any idea.
 xlisx 59 points
i think you need the XP-7A ESC for this motor to work :)
BEST ANSWER CREDIT AWARDED
 GooberSB 25 points
You may need a different ESC. You don't say which Blue Arrow you used. Also, does it work fine to 1/2 throttle and then stutter? I've seen this complaint about another micro BL motor.
 FLOATN 48 points
Not for 2cell setup.Current: 4.2V/0.7A (No load)!!!but you can use the ap-05. its only 5.4g and it will thrust 110g *>8V)only drawing>(3.5A)

can I use this motor on a plane, because of the mount/housing....is it possible to open by removing the clip and install it****so i will have the drill holes for the mounting on the correct side for mounting in a plane. I want to use it with 1S on a 3d plane....anyone ideas?
raptorddd  21 points - 2/8/2010

do you guys think this could be used on a walkera 4g6 heli is the size the same as hp08 motor.? these are the specs of stock motor.
1). Dimension: Φ*12 X 22mm
2). Speed constant(KV): 11000 RPM/V
3). No-Load Current: ≤*0.7A
4). Working voltage: 3.2-4.5V
5). Shaft extension: 4mm
6). Shaft diameter: Φ*1.5mm
7). Weight: 10.4g
 ericzhangva 94 points
I am using it on 4#3B and works great. I don't have a 4G6 but it is little week when I put it on 4#6. I am getting C05XL Micro Brushless outrunner 10800kv for my 4#6 which I think will be a good fit.

well 4g6 and 4#6 its the same thing. one question is it better than stock.? or is the stock motor better than this motor.? do you happen to have a video of it flying the 4#6.
 up&down 37 points
Can we use the stock 4#3B BL ESC with this?
 xlisx 59 points
i think you need the XP-7A ESC for this motor to work:

oh, ok, what size of edf is this for?
 magnusEl 1239 points
www.link think the site has not been updated lately, cause they have a new 30mm impeller I can not find there.
rcmonger  50 points - 12/23/2009

that's some pretty massive rpm. Isn't this primarily a heli motor?
 JRBeaman 318 points
definitely a gear box application, I would think
 magnusEl 1239 points
It is for EDF use,
but it would work in a
gearbox too.
 WingFlyer 217 points
Guys, can you advise to me any HC motor for 1s lipo, but not a 2gr outrunner, i need some more trust!
 magnusEl 1239 points
Try the Turnigy 1400, use quick search. There is 2 Kv:s that should work for you, 3000 or 4500Kv. It all depends on what you are going to use it with.
 Ballemann 209 points
Wingflyer, try the GPS-C03 system here on UH, it hauls A**!!
It's a 1S 3g brushless in a gearbox that gives 60-70g of thrust from 4V and 2amps..
 Ballemann 209 points
Come to think of it, I wonder what this C05M motor would do if stuck in the GPS-C03 systems gearbox...?!

Excellent motor.
With gear 1:4 with U = 4 V, it develops the thrust on the screw Su-26m - 100 grams!
 ratherbegolfing 41 points
Vladimir, have read a some of your post at other sites and looked at your motor/gearbox/firewall setup. I need to replace my Parkzone P51D micro motor. What is the best motor/gearbox/Speed Controller/battery/prop setup for my PZ p51D micro with out buying from 4 or five different places? THX Shipping adds up. target=_blank>PK P51D Micro
 Vladimir88 28 points
ratherbegolfing, All details are set out in the "RCGroups" in the subject line "Indoor and Micro Models" post "Gearbox with brushless micro-motor to achieve maximum thrust with powered only by 1S."

This motor is an replacement motor for my old Turbo Ace on my Walkera 4#3b full BL. Compare to the old Turbo Ace, this Motor goes with an 20T pinion like hell. Especially I liked the reduction of total flight weight (-7gr). The Motor fits perfectly onto the Walkera frame and you get a flight Time of 6-8 Minutes with Zippy 400 (depending on your way to fly).
A very good and cheap solution for all full BL 4#3b Walkeras.

I have a c05 motor in both of my mcpx's. It now flys like I had hoped it would when i bought it. Power is amazingly better than stock and constant level flips are no longer an issue. The stock tail also holds a lot better now with this motor for the main.
