I have this one, I am not satisfied because the pinion must be glued, not screwed, not buy it
 slaanesh 424 points
Actually not really 28mm, only if it is a standoff motor (ie. 2810, 2815). Maximum inrunner size is ~20mm.

 dacamafo-RN 63 points
Man, I already have one! I bought it for impulse concerning to use with one old motor I have. but it doesnt fit in. Im still interested in buy one jet to make this work. Can u advice me what model of jet is compatible with this ducted fan?
 KaosKane 1429 points
I have use this edf in a F-22 and an stinger 64 worked well in both until the motor burnt out. and as it is a glue on fan i have to get another one now as it cannot be removed from the (dead) motor HTH
 dacamafo-RN 63 points
Can you post me the links for these jets you build? They are from hobbyking? I will apreciate your help.
 KaosKane 1429 points
links fail in this comment section i will give search terms instead so here we go. "stinger 64" "angel fighter" jetiger" are the 64mm edfs and then there is my Meteor 70mm (the best vale edf ever when run on 5cell lipo) and my old A-10 75mmx2 they are all HobbyKing planes and i have used cy and kiker with the occasional spare part purchase (like this) to keep them in the air the jettiger has been repaired so much i call it the splodge and i have to tell people it is a jetiger Lo0l HTH

Curves of required torque & thrust vs. speed needed !

All said this is still a great fan. I was blowing them up in the profile jets, just a fan unit with no ducting. The ducting of a full fuselage plane might restict the rpm enough to stop it. I also can't rule out FOD (bugs dirt etc) damage but the rood of the first blade i chucked apeared to have an air buble in it. Hobbyking having this in stock make me want the F-4 more knowing I can get spares thrown in and not have weeks of downtime due to a blown rotor.

I just lightly tapped the adapter fitting on to the shaft with a small hammer. I was worried but it worked just fine. The adapter stayed in place even after the fan blade disintegrated after ingesting some horse ****.

I ordered 2 of these. I would like to know how you are supposed to keep the aluminium collet on the motor shaft. There are no grub screws or even holes to tighten screws onto motor shaft.

Lok-tite sleeve retainer or high strenght thread locker, if it is an EDO or clone
 lowtideflyer 27 points
I just received 4 fans and 4 2810/3800 kv motors & can't figure how to attach the fans to the motor shaft either. The shaft that comes in the motor is too large for the fan retainer. What now?
 BCBasher 308 points
Dont they come with the 3 shaft sizes? it should me the middle size one then just glue it on and wait overnight. I see hobby king has their own retaining compounds now. I already have industrial size bottles of lok-tite's more useful ones but if it's like their CA hobby kings should be good.
 julioaeroperu 7 points
It's a very easy fix guys!... Just bore it a bit, with a small screw driver, and then use some threat locker while tapping with a small hammer.

Looks like an EDO or a clone.
 BCBasher 308 points
Plug version you need to locktite the plug onto you motor shaft.

30 thumbs up!
What the hell... This fan has the blade restraint system most painful I've seen in years. because only joins screw turbine blades with metallic cylinder ... and then this metal cylinder is attached to "pressure" with the motor shaft ... no screw or security ... nothing ... and if that were not enough .... inlet cone of the cylinder is much higher than the 64mm so I'll have to make major reforms in my hole of the motor to suit my Jet

Here is some more information from this 64mm Fan, I install this fan with the Turnigy 2815 4800 RPM/V and a Turnigy 40Amp ESC and a Lipo Turnigy 2200 25C 3S, got from my bench test 932 Grams of statics thrush and was consuming 42Amp with 10.8 Volts, is a little tricky to install I personally made a bigger hole on the impeller hub and glued (using 30min Epoxy) on the 3mm shaft, Balance the impeller and install everything using Loctite on all the s

The plastic pieces look good, but the press fit collet makes the system unusable. Would not press fit onto any of the shafts that came with my 2810 EDF motor.

Good fan for using the new www.link motor with. It operates on a 3s lipo and draws about 40A. Very good thrust static and in the air at speed.
