More than just a fancy name. TURNIGY nano-tech lithium polymer batteries are built with an LiCo nano-technology substrate complex greatly improving power transfer making the oxidation/reduction reaction more efficient, this helps electrons pass more freely from anode to cathode with less internal impedance. In short; less voltage sag and a higher discharge rate than a similar density lithium polymer (non nano-tech) battery. For those that love graphs, it means a straighter, longer curve. For pilots it spells stronger throttle punches and unreal straight-up performance. Excellent news for 3D pilots!
Unfortunately with other big brands; numbers, ratings and graphs can be fudged. Rest assured, TURNIGY nano-techs are the real deal, delivering unparalleled performance!
Suited to the following models: ALIGN T-REX450, E-flite Blade 450 3D, BEAM E4, MSH Protos Mini, Furion 450, ThunderTiger E325/Mini Titan SE, Caliber 450V, CALIBER 400, RAVE 450, GAUI 330S
* The nano-core technology in lithium ion batteries is the application of nanometer conductive additives. 1) The nanometer conductive additives form ultrastrong electron-conducting networks in the electrodes which can increase electronic conductivity. 2) These additives create a superstrong ability for imbibition in the carrier liquid to supply more ion channels. This improves the ability of ion transmission and ion diffusion. Through improving electronic conductivity and ion transmission, the impedance is reduced and the polarization of high rate discharge decreases greatly. Advantages over traditional Lipo batteries. Power density reaches 7.5 kw/kg. Less Voltage sag during high rate discharge, giving more power under load. Internal impedance can reach as low as 1.2mΩ compared to that of 3mΩ of a standard Lipoly. Greater thermal control, pack usually doesnt exceed 60degC Thickness swelling during heavy load doesnt exceed 5%, compared to 15% of a normal Lipoly during heavy load. Higher capacity during heavy discharge. More than 90% at 100% C rate. Fast charge capable, up to 15C on some batteries. Longer Cycle Life, almost double that of standard lipoly technology.
This battery won't offer 45x2.2A as it is advertised. Or it does it few times max. I have used 45A in few sec bursts and after 10-20 charge cycles battery is in final. Max discharge has been approx 1700mAh and still. Divide HK promises in three or four and you are close to thruth.
Im using this Lipos for 20 Cycles, then they offer the truth. They never give more than 30amps out. I charged with 1C, and draw maxim. 30amps out of it. Now with my new Setup, i cant get more than 30amps out of this lipos.
And whats very freaking: They are very unstable in volts. After 500mAh draw, the lipo is breaking in at 10,5V. (Draw 30amps) U can use the rest of the capacity (the 1000mAh), but not over 30amps. So there useless for me.
Read all the good comments, thought it is a good lipo - but it isnt.
Same things happens to me. I bought 4 of this lipo and with 2 of them the voltage drops down quickly.
Thats the first time but now I'm not so sure about these nanotech.
Me, I use turnigy nanotechs from a long time ago. I'm pretty happy with them. I use to come to my field with 3 charged 4000A batteries, and recharge them the same day once or twice, for flying. Voltage is ok.
Thank you for offering me! Do not want!
The price is 19.99 (even with discount 18.75), freight 6.99, 26.98 final value.
Friend, I am in Brazil. This makes everything more expensive! You can not understand, USA is closer than China.
Not with the warehouse here, you could decrease the value.
With that price, I'll buy one with capacity mauior direct from China with FREE SHIPPING, that's right, FREE SHIPPING ...
Muito obrigado por me oferecer! Nã*o quero!
O preç*o é* 19,99 (mesmo com desconto 18,75), o frete 6,99, valor final 26,98.
Amigo, estou no Brasil.
They should not get puffy unless they are over charged or over discharged. They may feel slightly softer if they get hot or after they have been run hard but this should subside after they cool.
I have been using a these 2 to 5 times a week for the last 7 months and there is no visible swelling of the battery pack. I usually draw no more than 1800mah to avoid over-draining and I change at 4 amps.
Compro em muitos sites da China e eles entyregam com frete grá*tis, porque aqui na HK o frete é* tã*o caro?!
É* uma ilusã*o comprar no depó*sito aqui do Brasil!
Ah, sorry this is a good point which I overlooked. I don't believe you can get an adapter (not on HK anyway) for XT60 to bullet/banana plugs. XT60 connectors are better, so I personally would replace the ones on the plane with a male XT60 plug... This does require a bit of soldering though.
This will definitely work! The nano-tech batteries are generally lighter than other brands, and this has a higher discharge rate... so better all round.
They perform exceptionally, I buy nano-tech exclusively.
i have a blade 450 3d and have bought turnigy nanotech 2200 with xt60 connectors which the description says is compatible with the blade. It is not. The blade has an ec3 connector. Do hobbyking do turnigys with ec3 connectors.
All the nano-tech batteries below about 2500mAh have the XT60 plugs. Unsure about other batteries. You could however buy an XT60 -> EC3 adapter like this one HK Product ID: 603B-601A
You can trim the housing on the female EC3 connectors slightly so they will accept the male XT60 connectors. It only takes a minute or two with an Xacto knife.
Simple answer: Yes
More descript answer: Yes, however if using the PNF version you may need to change the battery/ESC connectors as the PNF version appears to have Deans on its ESC, whereas this battery comes with XT60's. I would also say that you could get away with a much lower C rated battery with the AXN floater, as I can't imagine that small motor draws much current. Personally I would get 2 of the Turnigy 2200mAh 3S 20C Lipo Pack which would cost the same as one of these. I only use these batts for high performance stuff.
Has anyone faced issues whilst shipping lipo to India? The reason I ask is that my lipo has not been delivered yet. On the shipment tracking it was released by Indian customs on the 5th Dec, but still not delivered. I'm being silent n not raising it as an issue as it would just end up with me paying bribe to some dikheads. Pls let me know if anyone has had similar experiences
my good friend do not worry . It will soon arrive after customs do there thing . and Your able to power your plane very well soon after2 weeks -3 somtimes this is as chapest freight as was your choice . very good time worth waiting to be had ,,thank you. ,
true! do not worry, Dude. Lipo is always comes with delay. And sometimes HK Post is causing some.
Best way to know what is happening - ask support. They're friendly and, as my experience shows, help quite fast. Worth trying.))
I am a little bit confused. I want to assemble a quadro, I will buy this battery but I dont know how to charge it. I mean which charger is suitable for this battery. Which information/property is important for charger?
Hi! If you're going to buy your first charger just look into Chargers/Balancer tab and choose from the bunch of them. I guess you don't need very expensive one and avoid cheapest too! And I'm pretty sure that multichannel chargers are more usefull for multirotor applications. Wattage of charger is secondary I guess. Good luck!
Kahlenberg yes ,I would Look to the Proper charger Verry Much Dangeroius and Damage to Batttery is quite possible . The Balance Charger Can cost little as 20 $ or 35 $ The china replica Is Just as good as the good Named Top Brands , They all do the same Quality Ballence To every Cell required . > CHARGE WITH BALANCER Charger no other . Avoid costly Disasters . As MAny Do Just Explode when Not charged slow enough to each cell . A Common event to learning the CAUTION while charging correctly with the correct charger no other .to avoid Fire explosion,
how does this compare to zippy flightmax 2200mah 45-90c. are they the same? which one can be used to fly longer?
i have a quad. turnigy 2830
PRODUCT ID: Z22003S-45C
Both have the same capacity so they should last for about the same time. the real difference you will see is the greater burst ability of the Nanotechs over the full discharge. Even thuogh rated the same (45-90c) in my experience the nanotechs are a class above, exactly what you want for a quad. I also find they they tend to last for a few cycles more than the zippys before you see a noticable reduction in longevity. highly recommend the Nanotechs... hope that helps
can i use this for quadcopter? i have the hk x550 and d2830 1000kv motor x4. does this give enough power? if not which one is? im still new to quadcopter. also i read down in the discussion they say it will puff after a few flights?
In theory, if you fly with motors next to full trottle, they will puff. These batteries give 45A constant. Your motors will drain more than that, checking their max amp specs. The 90C is burst (for a limited time only), not for the entire flight...
"These batteries give 45A constant"
Isn't it 45C constant, which would be 45 x 2.2 = 99A constant draw? Max current for the motors is 21A, so at 84A you'd still be within the constant draw safe range.
trust me these batteries worth every single penny !!
they offer an excellent quality and by comparing with
many other brands, their price is unbelieveable!!!
i got 50 good cycles out of these pack with smackdown 3ds.its only a fraction of the cost of branded packs. been using them ever since my first test . highly recommended!
Fully agree with eichenbe. Excellent performance when new, but they degrade sooner than the blue Turnigy packs.
I have many of them ("normal" Turnigy and nanotech) in various capacities and voltages. None of them have ever been abused above the specs, but after a while the nanotech's performance will go down and they will eventually puff.
They are excellent batteries. I have owned six for over a year and a half and they have 100 flights on each battery some have been crashed and still all are flying great.
I have the same issues with 2 nanotech I bought. Mine were 4S 2200 35C. I used them on my edf jets. When brand new they pushed 43 amp. Great performance. But after about 12-15 cycles the current dropped to 35amp. A big degradation. They plane barely got the power to stay in the air. After that I will never buy any nanotech until Turnigy resolves this issue.
Well 50a is the max discharge of the 25-50c, and right at the beginning of the 45-90c battery. If you ran them both at 70a I'm sure you would notice a difference.
the 2200 45C can support up to 99A discharge... and the 2200 25C can support up to 55A discharge... so when you use them to below 55A them perform the same way
and you don't want to run batteries near the constant rating over long periods or it will reduce life of battery. As general rule I aim for 50-60% of the constant c rating (which depends a bit on application) . Plenty of good info on lipo battery best practice , use google do a bit of reading.
I have never tried to pull 90A from these, but they do seem to have more punch than a regular 25c pack. Independent testing has shown them not to be capable of the 45c claimed however, and mine go out of balance after every discharge. I still find them more punchy than my other Turnigy 2200, 25c packs though.
no doubt , someone started his car with this battery , the minnimum for starting a car is about 180 amps , that is around 85C in this battery .. here is the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WkKRqaNPIBE
nanotech is very bad! i got 1 and after 2 charges at 1c (not pulling over 40amps) its puffing same with other batteries for my funjet (4s 2650mah)havent even tested them and they are a bit puffed VERY BAD quality. Will buy thunder power in the future!
People should know what is the passivation effect before using new Lipos. I have 2 of these with more than 30 cycles on EDF without any problem and plenty of power.
Hey Palber read this..Charging, and more effectively cycling, is known to dissolve the layer. Scientists do not fully understand the nature of this layer, and the few published resources on this subject only speculate that performance restoration with cycling is connected to the removal of the passivation layer. Some scientists deny outright the existence of the IPF, saying that the idea is highly speculative and inconsistent with existing studies. Another layer is the solid electrolyte interpha
I have two of these in circulation with similar capacity Zippys. The Nano-Techs deliver noticeably more power and less sag during bursts, but puffed quite a bit after the first 20 cycles. I'm still using them but they're unreliable. The Zippys, treated the same in all respects, are fine.
These are hands down the best 3s batteries I have ever owned. A great leap forward from the very cheap zippy flightmax 20C packs. These packs can handle anything you can throw at them. My only complaint is that one of them that arrived had a cold solder joint on one of the connectors, so just make sure to check them all before you fly. I do however like the XT60 connectors and will be switching to them on all of my future planes.

3 thumbs up!
Purchased 2 of these packs to use in my Mini Titan, this is setup with a Scorpion 2221-8, peak currents of 60 Amps, average 38 Amps, flight times 4:00, putting back 1800.
Great performance throughout the flight and pack still has punch after four minutes. Overflew one flight because I did not set the timer, put back in 2150ma, LVC had still not cut in on the speed controller, pack voltage had not gone below 9.9 Volts.
Only issue is, these do need balancing every charge, seeing up to 25mV difference in cell voltage after flight, raises questions about cell matching.

Best batteries for the money (hands down)! My previous batteries would only pull about 200 watts in my PHASE 3 EF-16, yet these give 300 dropping only slightly through the flight to 250 towards the end.
Will not consider any other batteries for any of my high draw EDF's.
