Designed for planes only, the H-KING ESC are an excellent choice for any plane requiring linear, sharp and reliable throttle response on a 20A ESC. H-KING speed controllers have strict end-of-line QC testing and are SMT (Pick-n-Place) in the same room as the through-hole soldering(wires, capacitor) and packaging is done. Improving quality and reducing contamination and inconsistencies due to transportation. The H-KING Speed Controller includes a 2A BEC (Battery Elminator Circuit) to power your receiver, there is no need to have a seperate receiver battery. The H-KING range of ESC are both economic and reliable. They are pre-setup with LiPo and auto cell detection so you can just plug it in and fly!
Hi all.
I bought a new one of these with my Bixler 2 ARF. Sometimes it'll run smoothly and other times it'll just pulse the motor and it won't start/run. I've tried another ESC, but that just cuts out at 1/2 throttle. Not happy.
Can you help, please?
First I programmed my motor controler (H-king 2s/3s lipo, 20 amp.) with my k-king programing card (auto lipo, forward, no brake). Then I wanted to test my motor with these settings. So with the connectors of the controler connected to the throtle signal I turned the transmitter on and then I pluged the battery pack to the controler. At that moment I hear the continuous repeating beeps without end. Whatever I do with the stick nothing changes, no reaction and continue beeping. I tried that many times with the stick in different positions. I'm using turnigy motor D2822/14 1450KV. Can anyone help me? It's the first time I trie to control un brushless motor. Thanks!
After I programmed this esc with the brake setting turned on by mistake. After the programming finished I wanted to reprogram but there was a sound repeating and non of the controls on my transmitter worked even though it's connected to the receiver. The sound sounds like the first sound it starts up with without the battery count beeps. What should I do?
Hello,
Have you found how to solve your problem? I have a similar problem. It is continuouly beeping and nothing works. My transmitter is correctly bound (i have checks with servos). If you can help, thanks.
Ig f your power requirements are near 20A then I would recommend you to buy a bigger ESC (maybe 30A). This leave it as it comes. Please credit me if this is useful
Hi folks,
I'm beginner in electric planes... and i would like to know if this ESC can be used with this 25C battery (Turnigy nano-tech 2200mah 3S 25~50C Lipo Pack)

hooked it to my new bixler and everything was working but it smoked. I unpluged right away and note a small burn hole just below the black power wire. wass up?
Hi david the bixler motor uses 20 amps and when u hook it up with a 20 amps esc it wont work. Your motor needs some spare amps. You better use a 30 amps esc. And dont fly anymore using this esc. It can catch fire!!
I use this esc:
TAE-30A

Hi onkelz. The bixler motor uses 20 amps. And when u hook that up with a 20 amps esc your esc will burn. I use a 30 amps esc and it works just great. So dont use this esc!
Use this one:
TAE-30A

No, no settings for timing. It has only 3 basic settings - LiPo/Nixx cell recognition, prop brake on/off, and forward/backward rotation direction. I'm using mine with a 3000kv outrunner w/4.75x4.75 prop on 3-cell lipo and it performs flawlessly, so wouldn't think timing is an issue. Hope that helps.
i have one of this ESC, i use it with BL 2408.
first time tx on then connect batt to ESC. until beep hear it.after that throtle up slowly until top position, but BL motor dosn't run. I try again but still same.can any one help me???for my case??thx
No connectors are supplied, you must buy them seperately. I'd recommend either the female JST or XT-60 connectors that are on most batteries sold by HobbyKing.
No connectors are included, you will need 3 for the motor side (unless you are hard wiring the ESC to the motor) and your own choice of battery connector. I would recommend EC3, Deans or XT-60, but any 3.5mm fitting would be fine.
Has anyone experienced any unusual heating with this ESC? I have one of this and it seems working but it gets considerably hot even when the motor is off. (Servos connected and at neutral). Is this normal for this ESC?
No, it shouldnt do that with no current load. I would check to see if you are getting a current short between two wires or if you have connected the battery incorrectly.
It will produce heat regardless of load due to the BEC being a linear type rather than switched it is lowering the votlage from the battery pack to what is needed by your radio gear it produces heat doing so. A good switched type BEC would be more efficent and produce very little heat. I have one of these and it gets hot but works fine

these are good esc i use about 20 of these in my planes (10 to 35 amp) all seem to have zero timing issues. if you tweek your motors and timing becomes an issue go with next level programmable esc not these
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem .asp?idproduct=5353 Above motor stutters a few seconds and stops. I followed instructions on file here and reprogrammed ESC but still same. Is it bad motor or bad ESC? How do you change speed on ESC progrm?
Remember to move the throttle to half position during the programming sequence. Start with the throttle in the full position then when the programming beeps start move the throttle to half position then back to full. (On all other ESC's that I have during the programming you move the throttle to off. This will not work with these.) Moving the throttle to half position changes the mode form brake on to off. It is the second series of beeps.
Hello
I don't understand... I try it but the motor turn on back ...
Can you explain me All... For this trouble... I finish to the hospital. The propeller cut me...and i need 3 points...
Hey P51, Thanks, Yeah I down loaded the manual and was able to change/verify other settings but brake just doesn't seem to work.. It replies as setting took but it doesn't brake.. Curious if anyone has gotten brake to set on?
Possibly eol didn't supply correct voltage to esc or set xmt to full pwr prior to pwr up esc to get it in pgrm mode. Manual is under files tab. I had a low batt and esc got stuck in a loop until I supplied 5V.
Alex8 I noticed on some, the brake really doesn't "lock" like on some of the more expensive esc's. I do not use the brake function, but I do use the reverse feature which saves time.
As delivered exactly 15.8g I wish there was a way to post a pic of it on the scale

1 thumbs up!
I bought for my first plane (HK Bixler ARF) because it was in recomended parts for it, and I guess it's really wrong - it burned after only four flights, it gets really hot (even that plastic tube that covers it melted) and I think it's just to weak for that plane or maybe I have a bad luck and it was of poor quality

1 thumbs up!
Good little ESC. Small and light due to no heatsink.
Good quality silicone wire and a long pair of power leads.
Programming was dead easy albeit, limited but this is a basic
aircraft ESC that needs no fancy features. FANTASTIC linear
throttle response and stays cool. The only negative is the
receiver lead is rather short. 5 stars
5 stars because of the price...
I've bought 2 of these ESC now.
useing them with 1750kv Brushless motor , 8x4 folding Prop..
Got a Manual as well, but still can not get the brake to work...
