Sure, it can, but I will choose a bigger battery: 1800 or 2000 mAh. 500 mAh will give you no more than 3 hours flying time

Thanks guys, very helpfull :-) cheers Marcus

You would want to use a voltage regulator or you would likely blow up the receiver due to the high voltage of the pack. Voltage regulators or UBEC's are inexpensive and will protect your receiver from over voltage and allow you to use different voltage packs.

Don't forget to click YES if this is the best answer.

I would not recommend using this directly plugged into any receiver unless it specifically states that it can handle the 7.4V input. You should look into buying a BEC which is very cheap and will regulate the voltage to 4.8V or 6V depending on your need. Just remember to disconnect the power wire (middle wire on servo connector) going into the receiver from your ESC. If you don't you will have problems.

Hey Marcus,
yeah, you can use it if the receiver is for 7,4V but you also have to consider the voltage limit of the servos. Lots of servos are only until 6V, even some of them work on 7,4V as well, however it's not always like that.
500mAh is enough for around 4-5 flights with a smaller plane (about 1,2m). For a plane bigger than 1,5m I would use two of them. You can just plug two of them into your receiver if you have enough channels. With 2P-500mAh in a 2m plane (digital servos) you can make

yes but be careful with servos etc most are only rated to 6V

Great little battery but note that the charge plug is just a normal 2pin JST, wouldn't try to put too many amps through it, in fact I may replace it.

Purchased 4 of these for my sons park flyer. Out of the box, 1 was already puffed and had a dead cell. Online support wanted me to send pictures of the battery, connected and showing voltages of each cell. For $4.57 it is not worth my time. But then again that is what HK relies on.............

Great battery, my oldest is now nearly 12 months old, works very well still, although flight times are down by a minute. But that aint bad, of 6 all are still going. Will go again.

No complaints, I've used these for six months in a variety of smallish aircraft and work perfectly well.
