The Nemesis is the most succesful Formula 1 air racer ever built, winning 47 out of 50 races and a string of championships in the 1990's. This superb looking aircraft is all the more remarkable as it is a "home built" design that was crafted from hand made moulds.
This fantastic looking Hobbyking Nemesis is superbly built and pre-covered, the end result is a strong but ultra-light airframe. The Nemesis has been designed for speed, which is reflected in not just the build quality but also the supplied hardware which needs to be able to cope with the stresses associated with a high performance model. The Nemesis is also very practical and features plug in wings, a massive battery access hatch, sturdy alloy under-carriage and rubber tyres. The covering is top notch and to finish off the aggressive yet graceful looks of this model, the glassfibre cowl and spats are superbly painted in a matching, high gloss finish.
As well as being a stunning model to look at, the Nemesis is a thrill to fly, precise, aerobatic and with the right set up, very, very fast! The great thing is that the build cost is low, especially for a model of this size, if you fancy a model that is looks fantastic, flies superbly and get's the adrenalin flowing, look no further!
Hello Salih this is not a good idea. The structure of this plane is not conceived for handling the vibrations inducted by such engine. Absolutely not recommended Enjoy flying
Hi all, i maidened my nemesis yesterday and did not like it at all, i was reading all possible reviews and watching videos about it so was expecting a great performance, i have in it all the recommended electronics and the cg also set to the recommended position but once in the air the plane is really unstable even in low rates, the elevator is extremedely pitchy and performance overall was not good, well landed it as i could and went for a second flight with the cg set a little further front, result?, same thing, i don't know what am i doing wrong but to me it doesn't fly as good as it looks, ended up breaking the landing gear when landing so right after a big job on the bench to fix it it will be for sale unfortunately.
Hello my friends. Unfortunately I chashed my Nemesis after 4 flights. The body is useless, but the wings are perfect, and also are the elevator and ruder. Where can I buy only the body? Thanks
Hello David, what ever motor you will be using will never get you in high speed as the wing is too thick for that (about 14%) A good setup will be SK3 - 5045-660kv with 5s (or 6S) and a 12x12 prop. Be very carefull about the battery size for the added weight and the landing speed. Enjoy flying
Hi guys just bought the NS-50 version of this plane and no right thrust is specified> I understand it will yaw left severely without correction. How many mm of washers should I start with? Thanks in advance.
Hi,
Am considering buying this plane for an AXI 2826 motor. Will it be too long - requiring the shortening of the motor mount - or can I mount it as is?
Many thanks.
hi, I do not know your engine but I have bought this engine: product id D3548-41100 (Turnigy D3548/4 1100KV Brushless Outrunner Motor) and the size is well suited to this unit. but it's just, it should not be greater otherwise you must make changes.
vous pouver refaire le support moteur avec un support alu vendu chez hk regarder sur support moteur.facile a installer et vous pouvez metttre un axi 2826 je l ai faiT.
I just purchased the plane but want to ask to any person who already has it if i need to reinforce the horizontal stabilizer in order to break apart in the air such as happened in the edge 1200mm. Advice will be credited, thanks
Hi,
does anyone know if the recommended settings in the manual are correct for slow flight for a beginner like me: aileron 10-15mm * elevator 10-12mm and rudder 15-20mm? I do not want to fly too fast and recommended clearances seem weak!
Can someone please inform me
Thank you.
Bons vols
just bought the plane with all recommended electronics incl shipping was around $220 so if wanna add a lipo pack consider about $270 for a complete combo, this is not including the radio system indeed.
ok thx.
and can you give me examples for spinner. for the moment i don't want high speed, i choose 12x6 propeller but what spinner (with D3548-41100 - Turnigy D3548/4 1100KV Brushless motor) ?
do you mean motor right because spinner is something else, well for modest speed the recommended 35-48 900kv with 12x6 or 13x5 will be good. If you go for higher kv such as 1100 or more it will be very fast.
sorry to disagree but spinner is the plastic/aluminum/carbon cone that you mount on the motor, for this model you need a 51mm spinner and regarding a motor any 800 watts 900kv is good.
Hi,
the aircraft needs a motor, esc, servos, batteries, prop ok, i know that. But should I add horn clevis hinge? Or all is in the package?
Thanks for answer.
Unfortunately, my Nemesis went in a couple of weeks ago. I have repaired fuselage and refitted a new alloy mount with motor and started work on the cowl last night. It's in 3 bits so will be using glass cloth and epoxy but what a mess, will never look anything like original even if I can get it back together. I dont suppose for a minute that HK sell spares for this but does anyone know where I can get a replacement or a cowl from another plane that will fit it ???
This is a nice Aircraft, i got mine from the international warehouse and out fitted with NTM Prop drive 50-50 580kv running 6s 5000Mah and kforce 100amp esc. All up about 5KG. 6 mins flight with around 3.6-3.7v in the cells, Handles beautifuly!!! I reinforced the Wings, undercarrage and had to shorten the motor mount, a littl bit of muckin around but worth it. Unlimited vertical, and very predictable, nice size. Unfortunatly the Motor has been very unreliable, 2 so far have failed with loose magnets (tried epoxy to fix), so currently looking for another powerfull motor.. COOL FUN!!
Hello - i just clicked the buy botton, as i read i am sure i made a great choice, i normally fly edf, which is great, but am changing it up a bit....question is, is the manual pretty reliable as far as throw's, expo settings (if any provided) etc? Havent received it yet, so it may be great, thought i'd ask if there are any recommendations of these setting in case there wasn't.
Oh and for normal scale sport flying, should the weight be kept light with a 3300 batt or is 4000 a better option? will be using a 12x6 prop, NTM 35-48 and plush 60 esc, thanks again!!
Dear,
I flew this weekend the NEMESIS with engine G-25, Turnigy TRUST 45A SBEC and propeller TGS 11 x 8, Nano Tech 4000 4S battery and it flew really well. Very stable, has a great finish and drew attention at the club. I advise you to use little course of elevator, because it is very sensible. You will also have to move away from the fire wall. Apart from that the plane is flying very good.
Best regards.
Hello Frostbit, from the mounting plate to the end of the front there is place for a 48mm long motor. If you plan to install a longer motor you have to plan to shorten the mounting front (wooden). Not too difficult but then you need to find the correct down and side angle as they are present but not on any drawing. You have plenty of space in lenght, at least 10cm. The width is hughe so you can plan to install a 125 mm wide motor!
Thanks Retired machinest, can't leave aneything stock, bulding a two motor gear reduction, side by side for high W. high rev. Helicopter type. Think I can come in at 2/3 wight. good flyin to Ya
Hello Frostbit, that's a good plan. and that's the exact type of front cooling you need for that. plenty of space in any direction. However, not sure you'll got a better weight/power ratio than the recommanded NTM3548. please post pictures if you do so. Good luck.
I need 70mm.-2 3/4in. wide, 60mm. 2 3/8in. long shooting for 120wates under 220g. can easly go another 20wats in aprox. same size. Width dem. allows for 1/4 each side clearence. Down side, won't servive crash. Good flying to Ya
Looking at spects on NTM3548 and your rite on power to weight, espicaly sence I'll have to hall around 2 HONKING ESC's But as I said just can't leave aneything stock. Good flying to YA
Hello frostbit, there are plenty of space even for the two ESC. however, with 120watt or even with 240watt (2 X 120) you will not even take off! NTM3548 is about 900Watts.and you can fly with something like 350W but need more to take off. think about this before starting your project. enjoy flying
for example you can take 2 of this. it is only 67gr and is rated for 500W (2x500=1000W)This is already a lot better. It exist in many KV from 2000 to 3500. you can even put 3 of them for a total of 1500W.That will fly! and take off vertically. enjoy flying Turnigy 450 H2218 Brushless outrunner
Hello, just received mine. nice looking, mssing glue here and there. Biggest problem: the canopy is bended. this mean there is a gap of 1/2 inch at the tail side. Any idea how to fix? Thanks
Hello David,
no the problem is that the plastic was bended so there is some spce between the bottom of the canopy and the fuselage at the end close to the tail. It needed some force to close it. So I warm it up with a heat gun and now it is solved.
See also the files fole magnet closing description I made.
Enjoy flying
When will this Nemesis be in stock? (iternational warehouse) I am looking forward this model for a half year. I also tried to buy it from other warehoueses but shipping cost is too expensive. HK, Please make it be in stock!!
Good to know that. I have paid to reserve this plane and waited for over 2 month so finally I decided to change my order for the Katana for a couple of extra $.
Hanbin the staff that watch this area have ZERO to do with ordering. We need to pester CS. If they have a lot of requests they may move on the matter. I hope this helps
hello Emikbak, no prop, no spinner, no electronic, no motor. All up to you to set the plane the way you like. recommended NTM3548 (any not longer than 48 or you need to rework the front of the plane) standard servo* 11X10 for speed or 12X6 for nprmal flying. good luck, beautiful plane.
I do not know, It is a weird red, almost transparent. You might need to go to your local hobby shop with a piece and compare. That is if one is nearby.
Is depend which radio you have.if you have no aux channels then you need a servo reverser, the turnigy s.reverser seems to be a good look.i bought two just in case and works fine.
i wish hk would give the rc foam fighter guys or flite test every new plane for them to build and fly and post a 10min video before a plane goes on sale
hk should give out more than a (few) measly credit(s) for ppl that post proper info with pix...most ppl here have to wait a long long time before making a purchase so the "pioneers" can do all the r and d work. i bet lots of ppl would buy new planes and post all the useful info with pix if hk gave 20 credits for the 1st person to post a real instruction manual
Cancelled order on monday. Talked to them today and tell me that item is in the international warehouse. Place order again and guess what. ITEMS IS JIT
Just before I click the payment button I thought to ask advice from the Guru's here. The following are in the shopping cart, will it work well for this Plane.
i know the covering is sheeted on laser cut balsa ribs and spars but, is there a sheet of balsa under the sheet of covering which wraps around the ribs and spars?
wtf kekelala? see what from the horizontal stab? im asking about the WINGS, not, the horizontal stab, not the vertical stab, not the fuselage...but r the wings sheeted in balsa.....only ppl that know for sure (not kekelala) should answer plz
YOU need all electronics ,it comes with langing gear and all hardwear such as mounting harwear and wing hardwear and tail. it dose tell you what you need on the decription.no prop but it dose come with spinner.

Got mine from the first batch(right place at right time) and had first flight at week end. Flew very well and am very pleased. Construction wise I had 2 niggles. The top hatch was slightly bowed so had to make hatch latch at rear to keep down. The other was fitting cowl with recomended motor, the mount extends to far. Tried 3 motors and ended up with Turnigy 3548 1100kv and mounted cowl right on it's limit with larger washers. Delux 80amp ec with seporate reciver bat and 4s 30c Tunigy lipo. Had 7min flight with power to spare. Very nice size model.

OK now that the spring weather as arrived I took this airplane out for a maiden. Put 225mg in the back to cut down on weight.
Flight report: All I can say is WOW! This airplane is one heck of a dream to fly. The NTM motor has more than enough power with my 4000mah 4S.
AS always, keep the weight down and this airplane for the price is a wonderful flier.

Prezados,

This bird is looking very good. Nice, sturdy quality. No flaws, super finish. To my surprise you need 2 servo's on the elevator. What nonsense for a small rudder. Cut new holes and places one servo upside down. I want to fly this beauty at 6S so i needed to loose some weight. I glued in 5 micro servo's to save 100 gram weight. Also replaced the heavy alu tub (150 gram) for a 75 gram one. Got rid of too long and heavy nuts and bolts and saved another 30 (!) gram. Motor is a SK3 5045 500kv (fits perfectly but 100 gram). 80A Esc ( 10 gram). Lipo will be 6S 3000 - 5000 40C ( 100/250 gram). Prop 15x10. With 6s 3000 it weights 2500 grams. The same as a 4S setup. At 6s 5000 it weights 2750. Bit heavy. But very curious if it will break the soundbarrier ;-))).
