Scorpion HKII-2221-10 Brushless Outrunner (Suits 450 Class Helis)
Great upgrade motor for 450 class Helicopters suchs as the HK-450.
Scorpion HK Series Brushless Motors are built from the best materials available, and are designed to provide both quality and performance at an affordable price. Scorpion starts with high quality aluminum alloy parts that are produced on the latest CNC milling machines. These parts are then gold anodized to provide a beautiful, long-lasting finish. The stators are made with 0.2mm laminations to give maximum efficiency, and minimum Eddy current losses. The stators are epoxy coated to prevent shorts, and are wound with wire that is rated at 180 degrees C (356 F). The magnets used in Scorpion Motors are rated for operation at 200 degrees C (392 F), making a motor that is virtually impossible to burn up in normal use.
All Scorpion HK Series 22mm motors come with 3.5mm male Bullet style connectors already attached, and include a hardware package that contains 3 matching female Bullet connectors for your speed controller, heatshrink to cover the bullet connectors and mounting screws. Since the HK series motors are primarily designed for Helicopter and Ducted Fan use, they do not include a prop adapter. If you intend on running a prop on this motor, you will need to purchase a prop adapter for a 3.17mm shaft (1/8 inch).

hi,
When combining motor and esc, any criteria i need to look into?
Do i have to match the motor ampere rating with the ampere ratings of the esc?
For this particular motor (Scorpion HKII-2221-10 Brushless Outrunner (Suits 450 Class Helis), can anyone recommend any esc that is compatible? A good esc that i can buy from hobbyking. How about scorpion esc? better to have both from same brand?
Pls help
thanks!!!
Just a question to understand: "No. of Stator Arms: 9 Magnet Poles: 6" is this possible? I thought you need only 1 magnet more or less then stator arms to be able to start up?
Abstract of Scorpion Site: "The HK series of Scorpion Motor kits are High Kv versions of the 22mm motors that are designed for use in Helicopters, Ducted Fans, Racing Models, and other applications requiring a High Kv motor. These motors are based on a 9 pole stator with 6 magnets in the flux ring, and are normally configured with a Kv in the 2500-3500 RPM/Volt range."

Use it in a stretched 450pro with 350/360mm blades on 4s 2200 with beastx. 13t pinion. Just gives and gives. Power is amazing, batteries are 30C and warm but not alarming. I DO oil it once every couple months. A bit more than equivalent motors here but quality and power don't disappoint.
