I have a problem with the mount on this motor. It seems to be a bit too big, the grub screws will tighten it down well, but when I spin it up the motor becomes loose. Any ideas?
 Michael 69 points
I had same issue, I put some 'locktite' threadlocker onto the thread, have not had an issue since.
 lee 2 points
If you put some ambroid glue on the threads then screw it back into the mount it should hold.

Hi, Could some one explain me the big differences between those two references ? except a small power diff.(5W), the shaft diameter (3mm vs 3.17mm)i only see the shaft length. About his lenght i don't understand why it is so long except to bend it easier ... Some one to take me of the dark ? Now, has anyone tried to use it with a 2S battery and what could be a correct propeller association for how much max. thrust ? Thanks ... Turnigy L2210-1400 Bell Style Motor Spec. which am I use propeller for this motor? I'm using 2200mah. 11.v 25C battery and tunigy 40amp ESC
 golys 100 points
8x4 will do good
 Arxangel 909 points
With a 8x4.7SF prop and oiled bearings I am getting 24 amps and 1050 grams of thrust.
Robert  1 points - 4/7/2013

Would this be a good upgrade for my stock AXN Clouds Fly with 30A ESC?
 golys 100 points
nope to get the minimum thrust for AXN, you will need 8x4 prop, no good for AXN i am using 3s batt setup with the stock motor and 6x5 prop with 30A ESC. or you can try 2200KV motor with 160W minimum

After major crash last week (loss of radio) I had to swap out the bent Turnigy D2826-10, had the spare L2210-1400 so it went in. Flies just the same as with the D2826-10 motor, much better than stock brushed 480 motor, no difference (as you would expect 205w v 210w motor same diameter). Video of the flight test (in windy conditions), take off was pretty ordinary and landing was a bit irregular :) :) - Mick.

Will i be able to fit an 8x6 prop on this motor? I am thinking on using it for the teksumo wing. Will that be appropriate? :-)

can i use 10*5 apc prop for this motor for a quad?
 Arxangel 909 points
Maybe on a 2S it would be possible, but I would not run it on a 3S.

What are the Gold Connectors used on this motor? 3mm or 3.5mm?
 MeteCan 16 points
3.5mm Gold Connectors
 Brett 1 points
3.5mm is correct. They're your standard size connectors. I've got this motor on a CTH Assassin and it absolutely rips! It's a great buy just stay on top of the allens, you might want to use some locktite.
kaper93  8 points - 2/9/2013

I need a replacement shaft for this motor... Somebody help me ?
 MeteCan 16 points
Use 3mm shaft. You get the shaft should be a bit longer
 Brett 1 points
I was unable to find replacement shafts. Plus for a couple extra dollars you can just have a new motor and use the other one for parts or backup when you come across a replacment.
Carlos H  19 points - 2/1/2013

What the type and diameter of the connector. To weld to ESC. Qual o tipo e o diametro do conector. Para soldar ao ESC. Tanks

bbyKing_Red_Brick_30A_ESC.html with
this motor and 1000 3s 11,1V. turnigy battery? Will trust 530gr. cessna 747
 James 12 points
yes but the red bricks are terrible, i have 2 and they both get super hot on 10 amps. go with the hobbyking 25-30 amp esc.

Hi can someone tell me if a Turnigy 2210/1400kv motor will replace the 2812/1400kv motor that broke a propeller shaft on my FPV Raptor after a dodgy landing. I was told at the hobby store that they can't supply replacement shafts. Thanks Trevor
 ChilternFlyer 91 points
Hmm, I wouldn't. It's not going to have the same torque because It's a smaller diameter (22mm Vs 28mm) and the magnets are also shorter (10mm vs 12). If in doubt always check the KV, the rated power (or at least the rated current) and the motor weight. Generally if the KV and weight are similar then you'll get away with it. In this case the only box ticked is the KV. This motor is too small and won't generate as much power.
 ChilternFlyer 91 points
WOOps! my mistake. I didn't read the spec'. I only read the label! The can diameter is 28mm and the can length is 12 so it should be about right. BUT I still think that the magnets are only going to be 10mm long. Check the weight of your old motor. I suspect you'll find that this one is lighter (therefore has less armature and magnet in it.

Just some findings after 50 or more flights, mostly on a 8x6 gws dd prop, so far the best combo for a ten foot liftoff and 40% throttle cruising. Attached to a 980mm Cessna converted to a grass taildragger. What's up meter 8x4 3 blade gws 16amps 185 watts 8x6 2 blade dd 19.8amps 222 watts 9x5 3 blade gws 22amps 242 watts 9x5 2 blade dd 22.4amps 251 watts Motor windings looks good and sounds great with the 8x6, some good vertical but not unlimited, planes weighs 650 grams... Ands it a Cessna, lol. Great motor, highly recommend . Cheers from Canada

Hi, can someone tell me what bearing size should i use for replacement in this motor? The axle seems to be 3mm. Thanks :)
 -MLG- 387 points
It's standard bearings,.. If you want to order new ones you must measure outer rig, inner ring (3mm) and depth,.. This is how you define bearing. Hope I helped
 Matt 1 points
Me too, my lower bearing went.....what size are they and does HK sell just bearing??

Is this a good engine for the tb-20 with 8x6 props?
 Devz_irl 23 points
Yes that prop will be fine, might get slightly warm but nothing to worry, great light motor
 CHOPPEZ666 11 points
Si, con una helice 8x6 va de maravilla, alcanza bien las revoluciones y aunque se calienta un poco, esta dentro de lo admisible. un gran motor...
rodher12  24 points - 10/30/2012

can these motor be used on a quadcopter?
 Devz_irl 23 points
Yes they could it although a slightly lower kv with bigger props will lengthen flight times
 -MLG- 387 points
For Quadcopter use same motor with 1200 kv. Hope I helped

Is this motor a good choice for PBY Catalina? Will this fit on the stick mount provided on that plane? Thanks!
 RC Flyer Guy 130 points
Yes, the flying weight of the PBY Catalina is 850g and the thrust of one motor is 880g. I would use a 7x6 prop.
 VK3CQ 7 points
Yes I have them on my Cat with 8x4 2blade props.

Is it possible to change the shaft to the 3mm shaft with no thread?
 2stroke 83 points
yes although it is easier to just cut it becasue the sirclips are very easily damaged
 -MLG- 387 points
you can change shafts, but they must be 3mm and long enough, you have them on motor spare parts
 Linelizzard 6 points
Yes they can be changed out and quite easily. You will just have to use a bit of finess (careful handling) so as not to damage anything. ALWAYS be careful of the wiring, because the leads are tiny!
If you search around, you can find 3mm. shafts on various sites and some have several in a pack for about the same price.
 Kyuubi 14 points
the threads may be masked instead of replacing shaft
 __Coyo 96 points
if you have old unused CD-ROM drive (for PC), you can get 3 mm stainless steel shaft for free. much stronger than original shaft.

2 thumbs up!
Fantastic motor for the price, I love the Turnigy products and using them in all my models, these 1400kvs outrunners are just the thing to replace my old 1250s in my Zero & Corsair Fomies. Beautiful motor with unlimited vertical, 15pcnt throttle and they take off from my hand, thanks HK for such products

1 thumbs up!
As previously stated, a great motor for the price! These are not to be confused with the similarly sized Emax CF 2812 motors as there is a subtle difference. The Emax has a stator length of 10.1mm where as this L2210 has a stator length of 10.4 and therefore more wire length on the windings. My bench test showed 17.3A on a 3s LiPo with an APCe 7" x 6" prop and there is still a bit in hand as the motor only gets luke warm. I'm using this setup in my lightweight Funjet (AUW 12.5ozs) and it provides quiet, unlimited vertical performance. Thanks HK!

Fantastic performance from such a small motor. With a 10x5 prop, it pulls my 550g 3D foamie with more than enough power for every possible stunt. Excellent machining, bearings, etc. Have already ordered 2 more.
