This tiny Jet is amazing, EPO foam combined with its featherweight stats means it will be very forgiving of the odd less than 100% landing. The twin 35mm Fan Units & ESC's are pre-installed as are the linked elevator/aileron servos, the model comes in 2 pieces so all you have to do when it arrives is attach the vertical stabilizer, hook up the RC equipment to a Reciever that uses Micro Molex 3 Pin conectors, such as the HobbyKing OrangeRX 4 Channel Micro reciever and you are ready to go...... where were we? Ah yes, performing those famous Swifts aerobatics in the local park, basketball court, in fact pretty well anywhere, these models are an absolute hoot when flown with friends, in fact get enough of you together and see if you can pull off some of those breathtaking close formation routines the Swifts display team are famous for!
Aside from some flying buddies the only other thing you are going to need is a portable charger and a container for carrying spare Lipolys, because you will have so much fun with this, I would carry a few! This jet is so cute, even your Wife will like it!

Got my Micro MIG. Great decals, but slightly warped plane - right wing glued at an angle. After first 5 attempts - almost have to replace body - it rolls out of control, i can't compensate fast enough. ALlthou I do fly powered glider just fine. Any suggestions? Is it problem of my hands?? video below
Is there a way to trim that out? Seems like there is a force pushing it down left. That looks like my jet when the trims were messed up! Trim it if you can, if not fix the warp on the wing. Every degree counts! Good luck!
i know it's hard to see, but after left bank, when i steered it to the right - it went too far, and then once again. On the video it looks like i'm overcompensating, but i'm pretty sure i'm not. One other thing i'm putting in question now - is the $2.95 HK Vtail mixer i used. Need to spend time to program elevon mixing into TX and see if that makes any difference. Could that be the reason?
Hmm that v tail mixer might be the problem. You want elevons not a v tail. There is a way to mix the V tail to do elevon like settings. Do you have a computer radio? If so you can take out the v tail mixer and just use the mixs in the TX. Make sure all the controls move when they should move. Also double check the rudders , make sure they are straight (that caused my jet to crash once, the tape holding rudder fell off).
thanks for advice, but have to disagree on mixer comment - mixer is a mixer. surfaces move exactly as they shoud, but mixer seems to add roughness and some delay passing signal along. working to get radio with channel mixing in TX.
Hello Henry,
yes you can, but.... problem of weight, problem of place, problem of COG. Should get the plane first, then measure exactly the space and figure out if it is safe to extend the available space (check for the COG also!)
Enjoy flying
i need help, i just got my MIG29 today i really love it, but i have walkera devo7 and receiver, do they work for MIG29????? and what adaptor i need to connect to the receiver thz
Hello Henry,
your receiver does not match the actual connectors. You need to solder new connector on place of the existing ones.
Can buy Produit ID: 2 5 8 0 0 0 0 1 1 (remove spaces) and solder half of then in place of actual connector. You will need also "WH - 3MM - BLACK" (or any other colour you like :-) )to protect the soldering for short circuit.
Enjoy flying
I got this micro mig29 dual edf. Like many (all ?) of yours some parts are warped. Well, actually badly glued/assembled. I need to know the best way to correct this. Hot air, hot water ? But "hot" up to how much ? 50°*C or 80°*C ?
Other than that, I plan to move engines 10-15mm forward, move servos where landing struts would go (on wings), and reduce a bit the long power wires.
Maybe also open laterally the tubes to give more air to the EDFs to help them "breath".
In my opinion it is better to use hot air but be careful! Do not get your hot air gun too close to the foam or it will melt.... Also i think it is not needed to open the duct tubes..... they are made in a very specific way so there is correct air flow and compression between the intake the edf and the nozzles.
No, you need your own receiver and transmitter. The OrangeRx R415 is best suited for this and works with $pektrum. Otherwise you need to buy an Rx for your transmitter with compatible connecters or buy adapters
nothing on this jet works properly for me i pluged all the channels in the right place but everything seems to work the wrong way ie. for elevate only the two right flaps come up and not the left same thing with turning only the left side goes up and down :S can some one help me please?
i was in your boat thinking the same thing you with need to mix the channels in elevon mixing named depending on what transmitter you using there should the name mix on one of the channels flick that on the see what happens if your using a 9x transmitter it will be in elevon which means mixing the elevator and aileron togeter
if the right hand flaps oparate on elev and left hand flaps oparate on ailaron it means its not mixed for both sides to work at the same time flick the mix switch and it should work if everything is connected right otherwise im not shaw what transmitter and receiver your using ? whats the brand name and how many channels does it have ect???
im just using the stock reciver & transmiter out of my sky angel mig 15 ... i thought i would be able to plug it and it should work :S i put a y connection on the elevator and alieron and connect it and the alieron's work but then i lose elevator.
Will the Fr Sky TFR6M Micro receiver work with this airplane? I have two of these nano mig29's and a futaba TC7 radio waiting in my house to fly,, but I accidently bought the wrong sized receiver....
Turnigy Plush is an excellent ESC, 6A if you use 2 cell, but if you are using 3 cells I recomend go to 10A. Unfortunately they are both out of stock at the moment. Mystery 12A Brushless Speed Controller (Blue Series) is in stock, but im not sure it is up to the task. Some controllers do have problems runing the motor, because of its having such high Kv. Plush 6 and Plush 10 is proven to work good.
Thank you to everyone who have replied to my quiries, they were very helpful, thanks. I am new to this compa.y and site and did not k.ow how to.go.about getting answers, but know i do. So, i shall be making more purchases from HK. Cheers.
andy55 on you it does not take long to get up to speed. Soon you will be sharing you wisdom too. Just never become a EXPERT please. We are all fellow fliers. Boys and Girls. No one can know it all and what work one way may also work many other ways to. I is all about having as much flight time as possible and learning from others mistake and hard knocks. THANKS you should have color in no time!
Why, oh why doesnt anybody reply to my questions? Weather its customers or customer services, i just dont get any feed back. Ive had a few problems with my purchases and needed help but after contacting customer services was very dissapointed with the no reply I have since sorted these minor issue on my own but it would be nice if they got back in touch with their customers that may need help with some of the products. For instance, when I ordered 2 nano jets, mig 29 and nano f16, ialso purchased the orange micro recievers for them and had trouble binding to my JR 11x and needed guidance, but no joy. I have since worked out that by using a pair of twizzers on the binding "pins" hey presto binding solved. They also recommended the baterries for the Mig 29 which dont fit into the aircraft and wanted advice on how to install these or other batteries that were more suited, still no reply. Dont get me wrong, I think the products are very good for the prices but would appreciate some answers to the questions that tha customer may need. I would like to order more products but feel a little let down by customer services. So if your reading this HK please reply and you may get more orders. Thank you.
What size battery do you use for this model as the one reccomended does not fit inside, too big! Also is it normal when you input the left and right ailaron the elevetors do the same? ie, right ailaron and right elevator move. Thank you.
Got one of these great looking models with the recommended nano-tech 460mAh 2s battery but it does not fit into the jet. How can i use this battery in this model? Thanks
You should be able to carefully trim away some of the foam in the battery compartment if necessary. Watch that you don't remove too much, there's not much foam there!
i realise now that i should have bought a beginner plane for my partner because he has never had anything like this before, but i didn't i bought this one...anyway i bought the recommended extra parts (orangeRx R415 and turnigy lipo (thingy)) but we dont have a remote (or transmitter i think its called) for it, what do i need to buy for my partner to be able to fly this :/ sorry if im asking alot but i haven't got a clue about this stuff
thanks
Hamad this come with 2 motor and the battery you mentions (11.1v 1000mah) is far to heavy. Also it comes with ESC's. LISTED::: EDF: 2 x 35mm with Brushless Outrunner Motor
ESC: 2 x 6A w/BEC
Servo: 2 x 2g Happy New Year.
surely not!! with less than 40 cm span it will be not easy to manage. If you would like to start with jet (which is not the right way however because you should use a glider) I suggest you the t 45 goos. good luck
oh and can i ask if it dual motor does it has dual esc and so how do we plug this in the Rx? does fuction as the same as the normal single motor? thanks
yes, generally in this case a double esc is provided and also the Y cable to connect to receiver is furnished have a llok on the picture of the front fuselage. than it works like a single motor no difference for piloting.
molex is a standard used in electronics for board connection. if you have a certain practice with wire soldering you can cut and change it to your suitable receiver.
The new FrSky VD5R receiver (when it comes out) also has micro connectors. This will allow the Mig 29 to be used stock to those of us who use FrSky equipment!!
Kit/spareparts is available, check on this side: Planes ARF,RTF,KIT > Replacement Parts, on page 3 you can find all the parts, but they went out of stock fast...
I just ordered one of these. I have some of the Rhino 360mah 3S batts that I'd like to use in this. Do you guys think the stock 6A ESC's are up to some 3S abuse? I use the 3s batts in my micro Bae Hawk with no issues.
I run my micro BAE Hawk on 3S...same esc...I even use the 5 blade fan. I think with this Mig I might just use the 3 blade props. It should pull pretty good with two edfs.
Thanks guys!
ok, to put this all in one question... is there a 4 channel micro reciever here on hobbyking similar to the orange R415, but can work with the Turnigy 9X raio (firmware V2 of course)
i looked for th same thing for the turnigy tx and came up with nathing then i thought if i were to chang the modual to frsky maybe there was but nathing for that also. I have the turnigy TX but only 30ft rang so if you want you can get the HK transmitter and use the 4channal receiver that will work. but your best bet that i know of is the spectrum system very samll and lightwieght. good luck
i use the turnigy 3ch rx on my micros without the case witch would work great for this cause its light waight and small and all you need to do it make a y connecter for the 2 esc conectors
and another thing would be to change the 1.25 jst to somthing else so it is capatable with the 3ch receiver or just cut them off and solder them to the 3 ports
Have a look at the SuperMicro systems in the TX/RX section.
SuperMicro have some very small and light weight RX. You can use the JR module with Turnigy 9X - read in the forums on how to do it.
FrSky are bringing out a new receiver called the VD5M which also uses micro-connectors (FrSky don't say they are Molex micro-connectors, however). This receiver will work with the One-way V8 series Tx modules and the two-way DJT/DFT/DHT Tx modules.
That would add quite a bit of weight, relatively speaking, and I doubt you could cram all the wire inside the fuselage. Just buy the Orange receiver HK sells with the proper molex connectors. If you don't have a $pektrum radio, well, keep dreaming :)
I did that before I got my OrangeRX. i was using the HK DSM2 6CH caseless Rx, and the connectors were from my local hobby store. No problems with stuffing it in the fuselage. I doubt HK sells the leads, but you can solder them up from parts available here.
I would love to have it in twin 70mm with thrust vectoring ... this is very small ... not my type...
and I dont have 2 cell batteries and radio required for this... so all in all.. a big NO to this model...
You can use any micro Rx just need to cut and change the plugs done it on all my 35mm EDF'S until now, they've released the $pektrum orange micro plug variant, as for room there's a heap, surprisingly ,in these planes .
Hello everyone and Merry Christmas
I have ordered such a cute little jet Mig 29 and think I'm going to pack it neatly in with Christmas paper and write on the card:
Sweet wife, hope you like the gift to you, If you like I can fly it for you!
Have a Merry Christmas everyone.
Greeting
Tor from Norway

Nice little jet! To start, it looks great. Nice finish and details. This model is quite light with lots of wing area. I flew mine with a 2S 500mAh 20C battery and the OrangeRx R415 receiver. This model flies fairly well for its size, although mine had a slightly warped wing that I had to heat in hot water and bend to match the other side, after that it flew a lot nicer! There is a fair amount of power, a firm overhand hand launch at about 10-15 degrees up resulted in a good climb. Full power on 2S is not overpowered but enough to have a bit of speed and a respectable climb. It will cruise around quite nicely on half throttle or less.
The elevator surfaces are quite small - small enough that if the airspeed gets too low they will have almost zero authority. I mechanically added some throw to the "ailerons" (which are hooked up directly to the elevons) and had better results.
All in all, a nice fun jet to fly in a small area - I'm looking forward to flying it more and discovering just what it is capable of!

Very interesting aeroplane, after seeing a few flying very well on youtube etc - and just waiting for responses to help solve the issues, besides other electronic problems with it.
Arrived today after a month - total price from $87.58, incl everything and super quick delivery - $146.00.
Looks superb, no damage, only the usual warping which isnt a problem to fix.
Set up as per manual, and CofG correct (which doesnt really matter on that particular one). Battery was a 2S 500mAh from HK as well.
Note: Without any arrogance, been in this hobby since 30 years and didnt come down with the last shower, and the other Micro..MiG-15 from the same mob has close to 100 incident free flights...and flies great.
1. attempt...was hand launched at full power..(plenty)..flies out out the hand without any tip stalling, then pitches down in a parabolic curve..the more elevator up you apply, the worse it gets..and hits the deck less than 30ft away. No stall or roll tendency. 2. attempt..no damage, but over 3ft long grass now.same thing..controlled launch, then pitches violently down. 3. attempt...thinking it doesnt like the elevator aileron mixing..disconnect and tape ailerons in place (aware that it might not turn with only elevon mix)...same thing...nasty uncontrollable pitching. 4. attempt...thinking CofG is wrong....pitches up this time with a hope to controll it..went close t

Arrived with slightly bent vertical stabilisers, no problems to straighten. I used a little PVA to take some of the slop out of the control surface linkages. In stalled two thrust tubes. I am running a 2S800 turnigy battery as I do not like ballast. Launch is a firm throw at a shallow upward angle at about 85-90pcnt throttle and away it goes. Slow flight is very controllable so landings are very slow, stalls have no surprises and to top it off it is fast in fact it is faster than my micro F86 which also runs a thrust tube and a 3S460 nano. I will try a 3S battery in the Mig to see if there is any marked difference in performance but it is fine on the 2S800 battery. Oh it weighs in at 174g with this battery.

This is a pretty cool little jet. It is pretty fast and has lots of power if you use a light battery. The elevator could use a little more authority and it takes a pretty good throw to get it flying, but once it is up and going it flies really stable and smooth. I use a 460mah 2s nanotech lipo and since the battery is so light, the jet feels like it has more power than when I use a heavier 3s pack. Like others, I had a few slightly warped parts when it arrived, but you can fix them easy enough. One of the motors didn't work either, but upon inspection, it looks like the motor shaft was bent. I took it apart and straightened it out and now it works fine. The speed controller is a bit glitchy, and sometimes it cuts in and out during flight, but it might just be a bad connection somewhere. Overall I really like the thing but wish it was a little better quality since it might need repair straight out of the box.
