The Hobbyking ASK21 became a firm favorite with the test team during development, it is fast enough with well balanced control surfaces for some aerobatic flying, yet easy enough to fly that a relative beginner can enjoy this superb model.
Plug and Fly of course means all the hard work is done for you, the low kv motor and large prop combo offers plenty of thrust for relatively low amp draw, when tested, we found this combo to be very efficient, so a good climb rate and good flight times are assured. The pre-fitted 9g servos are all per-centred are ready to go, and with no glue required at any point during assembly, you will find that you can be enjoying this quality 2 meter glider in no time.
Construction is from a nicely finished, glossy and of course tough EPO, the large landing wheel adds to the practicality and will help to keep this superb looking glider shiny and new for years to come. The wing joiner and dihedral brace are super strong, and well designed for easy field assembly, the wing is re-enforced and very stiff, this is 2 meter glider is a joy to fly and is a great choice for both the in-experienced and experienced RC pilot.

There is absolutely no room in the fuselage. To put the battery I had to cut the foam with a knife and attacked metere esc to the motor and the receiver close to the ESC. But once the plane is in flight is very beautiful and majestic!

Hi, als reiner Anfänger, nein würde ich nicht, die Maschine hat nicht genug schub und ist nicht bis garnicht selbststabilisierend. Ich würde, wenn es dann ein Motor-Segler sein soll , Bixler,Skyclimber oder EasyFly raten - sofern es den HobbyKing sein soll - Der Beste Anfängersegler dens gibt ist aber der EasyGliderPro von Multiplex...bestell Motor and RC zeug hier und besorg dir einen, fliegt immer und kann alles, leichter Kunstflug, Starkwind, Thermiksegeln und Hangsegel, Frag mal in dem Model

Depends on the specs of the particular ESC supplied. In the main, they are simpler types which require you to turn on Tx then full throttle. Power up the ESC by connecting lipo. The ESC will go into programming mode. Let it run through all its signals a couple of times while you get used to the sequence. Disconnect the power from the ESC if you do not wish to programme. When you hear the repeated signal indicating the option you seek, you just pull the throttle to minimum. To get a likely sequence, go to the HK ESC pages and download a manual of one that is similar.
Braking is usually the first option that you can toggle on or off this way.
Most of the planes cost less even if they are more expensive here. Shipping is just pretty cheap here (6$ to germany). In HongKong its about 45$...So even if they make the plane 40$ more expensive its still a better deal to buy it in EU Warehouse.
You also forget that you avoid 30% custom taxes in most of EU countries. Shipping from Germany to other EU is not ultra cheap, actually for a single aeroplane it cost the same. Normally 20$ for 10k shipping ... so combine multiple birds help on reduce cost.
you can't combine multiple planes from DE warehouse, at least I was not allowed, I've been asked to pay separate shippings. Anyway I would gladly buy any plane from DE because shipping takes only 5 days to LT and no messing with taxes, trouble is, most of bigger planes are available only from HK... and those from DE are on BK forever..

Gekauft geflogen - Motor kaputt. Lagerschaden! Hab mir das Modell erneut bestellt - Lieferung erfolgte innerhalb 48stunden.
Zwei Runden geflogen - wieder Motor kaputt -> Lagerschaden!
Nun habe ich zwei ASK zuhause mit defekten Motoren die ich nun austauschen werde.

Ich war etwas enttäuscht von der Verarbeitung und Qualität dieses Modells: Die Kabinenhaube schließt nicht gut, der Magnetverschluß hält gar nichts und die Haube wird nur von dem Drehriegel gehalten. Zusätzlicher Gummi außenrum ist notwendig! Weniger schön ist auch die Montage der Flächen, wobei der verbindende Alu-Stab sich immer wieder verdreht und die Flächen irgendwie schief stehen. Dabei noch die beiden Schrauben hineinfummeln und die Muttern fallen in den Rumpf und gleichzeitig nicht die Kabel von den Servos einklemmen (grrr) - keine gute Lösung. Am Ende stehen die Flächen auch nicht senkrecht zum Seitenleitwerk - irgendwie ist alles etwas schief. Aber das ist ja nur "Schönheit". Die Schrauben für die Ruderanlenkstangen lösen sich schon vom Hingucken (wie ein Anderer bereits schrieb) und ich habe sie gleich mit Pattex gesichert. Die Ruder selber sind nicht flexibel genug durchgestanzt und bewegen sich nicht ausreichend bzw. beim Höhenruder verzieht sich das ganze Leitwerk bei Betätigung. Sämtliche Ruder habe ich einfach abgeschnitten und mit durchsichtigem Packband neu befestigt - so lassen sie sich einwandfrei anlenken. Wenn man dann mal fliegt, ergibt sich ein sehr schönes Flugbild. Leider bekam das Servo vom Seitenruder schon nach wenigen Flügen Zahnausfall und blockiert

Globally good product. I was a bit disapointed by the wings because of their weight. Indeed, they have metal reinforcement at wings tips but I don't think it's a good solution. Besides, its motor is not enough powered, rises aren't quick !
Anyway, this glider have good flight qualities like soaring ! But it's difficult to do aerobatics because of wing weight.

The model was handed to me in just three days after placing the order: great, Hobbyking!
The powered glider seems well made and it is almost ready to fly, because you only need the screwdriver supplied to assemble.
I found only two drawbacks: the assembly of the wings too cumbersome and too delicate plastic screws securing the wings. I hope to find replacement screws of the same diameter and length.
I hope to test the model during the coming weekend...I'll let You know!

Another drawback: the internal wiring of servos are too short to reach the receiver installed in the only available space, the one next to the engine!
I am therefore obliged to order extension cables and i'm a bit disappointed.
