any 64mm was ok and if you agree to make some modif you can place a 70mm insted for the of just changing the propellers,and for the battery you can go with max a 4000mah 11.1v 4s 25c if i remerber rigth ,you can see that on youtube but at that point you need to compensat the nose weigth with the trim ellevator and you need to be gentle cause the wing ply on the G force

Yes fixed, but pre made hinge to add rudder servo later. You would have to cut some foam in rear and customize to add working rudder as they provided no place for a rudder servo.
Mine was missing the landing gear parts. I was told they weigh the box before it is shipped and basically called me a liar. I told them I would pay for the parts and they said they didn't have the parts I needed. I have had the plane since 8-2012 and never have flown it.
just bought the 64mm t-45 and all i can say is, what a piece of ****. missing a lot of parts, customer service is of NO help, i feel like i got ripped off. Hobbyking is doing nothing about it, they wont even return an email. General fitment of the basic construction of this plane is bottom grade. Can anyone give me advice on what to do since hobbyking wont respond to any of my requests?
Mine was missing a nose cone and had a warped canopy seating area. After several tries to get a solution from HK I am getting a full refund from PayPal as long as I ship the package back.

I agree with you Roy O! I received mine yesterday and thought the same thing. Very nice plane but misleading about being PNF. I put a RC Lander 64mm EDF with a turnigy trust 55A esc and got around 900g of thrust using a 2200 4s nanotech. Definitely good enough for unlimited vertical!
Before flying the first time, replace the stock ESC, it's way underrated and will fry right away. I put a 50amp in mine and here's the readings on a watt meter using 3S 30C 2200mah: 0'9", 604.3Wp, 10.93vm, 1.1wh, 53.83ap, 0.099ah
hi everyone, can anyone please recommend me a good setup for this plane? what esc, battery, fan, and engine goes the best with this plane, to get high performance and speed. thanks alot !
I would recommend using a different ESC. I personally am using an 80amp ESC from E-flite. The stock ESC which was in my plane was no good. Not even one flight. Actually it didn’t even make it through the setup stage before I got the magical puff of smoke. This plane flies very good on the stock motor and EDF. Youtube the plane and there are tons of videos. Great plane for the money. Plan on buying another when this planes expiration date is up. I fly using a 3s 11.1V 45C-90C Turnigy 2.2 nano.
i reccomend that you keep the stock motor and fan in, get an 80 amp esc any brand is ok, and use a 4s battery (get a 2200mah for best fit)although you may have to enlargen the battery compartment. Hope it helps!
Wish I would have read these posts sooner! I puffed the original ESC, a 40 amp ESC, and now I've installed a 50 amp ESC. It's drawing 53.3amps, so I will probably upgrade to a 60 amp in the near future. Love the plane and will love it more once I can keep it flying for more than a minute before puffing the ESC.
This plane is definitely not PNF. The nose cone canopy and cockpit have to be cut to size. The canopy is not painted. The painting on the wing bled under the tape. There are no instructions. Could someone tell me where the CG is supposed to be? This reads like a review but I want to wait until I fly it. I will take heed and change the speed control. Thanks for the info.
I've uploaded the manual to the "Files" tab above, but it's useless. Most fly with it between 110-150mm from front of air intake. Mines near the 150mm mark and it flies excellent with 3S 2200 35C.

Got mine in the mail today. Not very impressed. No instructions, canopy not painted, canopy and plastic cockpit warped from too much heat and missing nose cone!!!!

received package in one box not two. no postage slip. the fuselages condition is okay. missing both horizontal and vertical stabilizers. i contacted hobbyking and they asked for pictures which i gladly sent. however they also asked for a picture of the postage slip which i did not receive. they are very aware of this common issue and need to correct it. i have previously never had a problem with hobbyking. i hope they will correct this otherwise im done. . cmon hobbyking help me out. ..

I think never buy T45 from HK because it is worst.Missing everything,
without instruction.
The elevator and rudder are not durable at all.I flew (not in the air,kept in my hand) with new 3s-2200mAh
25c : battery ran out after 3 minutes- it was very hot and bloat.

Missing parts - canopy not painted or put together nothing to hold canopy on, weak elevator and vertical stabalizer... not happy with this product and would reccomend that you keep searching, i have purchased other planes from HK and had no issues until this plane.

i got the jet about a month ago and i was pretty disapointed. out of the box it was missing the plastic latch for the main wing. Had to fab one myself. also it only comes with one nose cone and there are NO replacement parts for it. I decided to give it a try without doing any mods to the servos which may have decided its fate. The ael servo BARELY had any throw to the point where the plane would not even roll. Also i think the esc was bad as well. While it was fast for the first 2 minutes of flight you could hear the motor rpm die down without warning not leaving enough power to fly nose into wind for landing. This resulted in 2 crashes which were repairable. Still no modding. the last flight i lost ael servo locked up and i wasnt able to level out from a turn, being no rudder i wasnt able to control the eminent crash. the nose cone has been taped 3 times and wont hold any more. Im chalking this up as a dont buy a 3 channel edf. needs to have independent servos WITH rudder and have a spare parts inventory
