Hobbyking Sport Jet 70 920mm w/servo, motor & EDF (ARF) (USA Warehouse)
The Hobbyking Sport Jet 70 is a superb performing EDF for sport aerobatic flying that is made from tough EPO and is easy and fast to assemble.
The specs on this great looking jet are impressive, the EDF unit is pre-installed as are all the quality servo's, assembly is basically bolt together with only 2 small parts to glue in place and of course you will need to add your own ESC. The fixed landing gear is very strong and of course optional, this means the Sport Jet 70 is suitable for any flying field.
Sport jet's are about performance and aerobatics and the H-King Sport Jet does not disappoint, there is plenty of thrust from the fan unit for big loops and precise control for those jet aerobatics, knife edge, 4 point rolls and so on are all in easy reach with this great performing model. This jet performs so well and so predictably that we would reccomend it as a first jet for the intermediate pilot, it has all the right qualities for a fast, fun day at the airfield, just don't forget to pack plenty of lipoly's in your flight box, you will need them!
Specs: Wingspan: 920mm Length: 1100mm Flying Weight: 1040g EDF: 70mm with 2839-3000kv Brushless Outrunner Servo's: 9g X 5
Requires: Your own 4 Channel TX/RX 2200mAh~2650mAh 4s Lipoly Battery 50A ESC w/BEC
I had the Meteor from another website a while back. Flew great... very fast. Just bought the Sport Jet... A dog compared to the Meteor using the same 4s batteries. I had to put my own ESC in the sport jet because the American version didnt come with one. I went with Turnigy 55a. Can anyone tell me if the 60a would make a big difference?? Also flight times are too short. I have to somehow add more elevator, NOT ENOUGH. I almost wish I just bought another Meteor!!! I want it to go faster without buying more batteries? Should I change motor? Will fan make big difference? ESC? Any help would be great... Im not too happy!! :(
Just received mine, looks pretty good so far, a few minor things to clean up, rudder servo wire was not run correctly, elevator servo wire was pinched in foam by tail fins, make sure you check the elevator linkage to get them even.
The wing has a channel for the ESC / motor wires to run in. I put my esc in the triangle area with the slots for some air cooling. It took me about an hour to fish the wires for the ailerons through the remaining space.
yes no sweat. iwould have someone else throw it 1st few times. harold h.

Friend of mine at our club purchased this plane from HK...I got to fly it, and was very impressed! It flys very well, NO bad habits. Fit and finish was excellent. It is pretty much identical to the eRC 70mm Rebel, likely comes from the same factory, but at a lower Hobby King price. I'll be ordering one for myself.

Flew my Sport jet for the first time today. Used a Turnigy Nano Tech 2650 4s lipo. Short takeoff roll and a quick climb and turn to downwind. Predictable pattern work. Nice roll rate on the ailerons . A lot of extra thrust avbl during loops and snap rools. Flys better than jets for three times the price.

Flew my 5th flight today with a 220 mah 4S all the way forward in a stiff 20 MPH wind and it handled great. I held in a little up elevator and it floated in for a great landing.

I got the first two flights on mine today in 10-15mph wind, with some gusts. The negatives are... not enough elevator available (running 110pcnt of travel)... too much aileron (50pcnt of travel)... motor underpowers this airframe... not very fast, but you could say 'quick' I guess, maybe 50-60 mph... landing gear is weak, as is the nose cone... my nose gear servo arm was broken out of the box... the battery tabs are a pain. Habu setup is much better battery-wise... the positives are... the foam is strong and tough...servos do the job...hardware is adequate but light... the plane tracks well and flew straight off the deck with a nice rotation. This is a good first jet, but if you've flown a GP Evader, F-20, F-16, Projeti, StrykerQ, PS F-16.,.. this plane is not enough.
