Turnigy TrackStar 120A Brushless Short Course Truck ESC
The Turnigy TrackStar 120A Short Course ESC is the latest addition to our TrackStar ESC range. Its optimized for use with 4 pole motors which are becoming quite popular in the Short Course truck class, but of course works well with any sensorless brushless car motor.
Using a Fast Silicon Labs MCU and high quality On-Semiconductor MOSFETs the TrackStar 120A SC ESC sets a new standard in high quality yet affordable car ESCs. With Intelligent MCU logic the TrackStar series ESCs allow extremely precise start up control and positioning feedback from the motor. This translates in to very smooth start up and acceleration.
The Turnigy TrackStar 120A SC ESC also boasts a host of programming options not usually found in an ESC at this price and can be programmed with ease via the Turnigy TrackStar programming card (sold separately). The Turnigy TrackStar 120A SC ESC also includes 3 x 12AWG motor wires and 2 x 12AWG power input wires.
This ESC comes with 3.5mm bullet plugs pre-installed so you can connect your motor straight away.

It is written in the product description!
i am running this with an 2700kv motor on a 5200mah 30-40c lipo
when on full throttle it first gives a beeping sound and after about 0,5/1sec the car starts to run, anyone knows what this problem is?
I have traxxas slash ultimate. I will use this esc will velineon 3500 brushless motor.
esc calibration
motor and esc will be contact during esc calibration???
I need some help to get this thing working again after messing it up with the 2 in 1 Turnigy Program Box, but even though I now have the correct program card, it still does not work. What else can I do to undo the damage the 2 in 1 did?
Please help me?
Just wonder if any one try this will work with 5s? I have the "hobbyking" 120 esc, does work with 5s (even 6s) since I have a 1650kv motor, would like to run it with 5s, and the Hobbyking is just way too big! lol
Hello, Is this Esc supporting a 6800kv dynamite fuze brushless motor ? With 2S or 3S lipo ? I already smoked twice times a 1OOA Esc. It's starting expensive ! thanx
he confused why the mamba monster takes 6s lipo . and this esc only takes 4s. simple high cells require more amps but catsle beleive this isnt true. read some forums they state that theory stuff is never adds up in real life scenareos
Um, the more cells (and the higher the voltage) the LOWER the amp requirements will be. Watts = amps*volts. If a motor requires 600 watts, on 3S it will require just over 54 amps (600/11.1) but on 4S it will require 40.5 amps (600/14.8). More volts means LESS amps. The question still does not make sense. I'm sure max voltage of an ESC is determined by other factors than just the maximum wattage supported.
I cannot get the Turnigy 2 in 1 Program Box to work with this ESC. The Box displays "Connecting ESC" permanently. Is it possible that the Firmware for the Box be later than the ESC? Are they not compatible?
Thanks
read the description of the prog box carfully:
This program card is suitable for the following ESCs:
EZRUN Series Car ESC (Version 2.0)
K-Force Series Helicopter/Aircraft ESC
Would it be a good idea to run 3s lipo with a 3950kv motor in a 1/10 2wd car that weighs aprox 4 pounds? I know it would probably work but I don't want extremely high motor/ESC temps.
Thanks
I believe you can, since this ESC can handle also 1/8th scale cars, which tend to have larger tires and more weight. Also you can change your gear ratios to keep temps down. Hope that helps!
great escbi use it with my stampede vxl it stays cool when i run a 2s lpo tahts 5000 mah i run it with the velinion motor from traxxas its better then the traxxas brushless esc it is more programable and i suggest this esc to everyone ive no problems with it at all
I'm looking for a low weight 120A esc for my 1:8 buggy (for 1900kv Turnigy motor, cont 70A, max 120A on 5S) with 4S battery. Is anybody use this for racing? Or should I buy a Hobbywing blue 120A esc? Thanks
I have a problem with this esc trackstar 120a.

Absolutely amazing ESC, it puts the HK150A to shame. There is never any cogging on my KD36-60-08L 3000kv motor (hk150a always cogged). There is so much punch that my car can do back-flips now, even while going 30 mph (hk150a could barley wheelie from a standstill). The ESC runs very cool even when using the KD36 motor on a 4s Lipo. Best ESC I have had the pleasure of using!

This ESC is great, but it DOES NOT WORK with Turnigy TrackStar ESC Programing Card - presented above AS ACCESSORY for this ESC.
But the OLD trackstar 60A program card works well. But with old card i not be able to set the lipo-cutoff level and brake strenght.
Holy crap, i love my lipo's and do not want discharge they less than 3.2V per cell:(

Just installed this ESC a few weeks ago into my HPI blitz with a momba max motor and a 4s 5000 lipo. At half throttle the truck is doing a wheelie, this truck is extremely fast! On the second battery charge the tires ripped apart, got the new tires installed and then 2 min. into the run I fried the momba max motor, now I am looking into a new brushless motor with good value. Any ideas? Very happy with this ESC and runs cool for a 14.8volt set up.

read the instructions it works great.with the trackstar program card make sure card cord is plugged in all the way.it will be tight on the speedo and the card.very nice control at this price nice upgrade from ready to run units.if you have problems read the instructions on how to set up program card in speedo instruction booklet.I think the cord comes with the speed control just buy them both .the card and the speedo at the same time
