OK, great! That is exactly the answer that I was looking for. I want to thank you again for your time as well as knowledge. I was thinking the same thing, but I have no experience with these types of models. You probably saved me a crash or two. I'm still waiting for all the parts and pieces to arrive, and am looking forward to a lot of 3D practice. Its great to have a site such as this to throw around ideas and experience. I tip my hat to you Tractor.

Thanks for your response. I will certainly pick-up a couple of those props. I ordered some 11x3.8SF's APC, but I like that idea of a half-throttle hover. One other thing, how do you rate these prop-savers? Are they worth fooling with? All of this is going on a CAP 232BP. Thanks again...

This comes with a collet type prop adaptor not a prop saver. I use the built in prop saver on the smaller stuff but when you to this size motor more often than not they have more power than a prop saver band can handle, you have to double or tripel up the bands.
YES. This prop adapter if for a prop with at least a 6mm or 1/4th inch hole. I use the APC brand 10x4.7sf (slow fly) it matches with this motor very well. I fly a 780 gram 3D with this
and it will 1/2 throttle hover.
Chappy question, can the motor shaft be reversed? Yes I think so, You will need a 1.5mm allen wrench to take out the 2 allen screws in the collar and 1 locking the endbell to the shaft. You will need to take the shaft out completely and reverse it so the 1 set screw in the endbell fits down into the notch in the end of the shaft. I use a solder gun (not the smaller iorn) to heat the aluminum hub on the endbell before pressing the shaft out of the endbell with a drillpress (switched off of course) you will need to check the endbell for straightness (true rotation) after reinstalation onto the shaft.

A great looking and perfoming motor! 10x4.7sf apc prop 14 amps (165 watts) about 29 oz thrust. IMPORTANT, the four cross mounting screws on the back of the motor are two different sizes! Two are 3mm 19mm apart, two are 2.5mm 16mm apart, the difference is hard to see. The rear of the shaft is retained by a two set screw collar, one of which fits down into a flat on the shaft, not a E-ring. A 1.5mm hex key fits them, You will need to check this mine was not down into the notch. While you have the collar off oil the bearings mine were dry. Using 850 3s 25c nanotec battery I get 8 minutes of sport flying.Motor weighs 76 grams with the included prop adaptor and mounting cross. The prop adaptor is for a 6mm (1/4") prop hole. My battery weighs less than my motor, LOL!

this is the perfect motor to brushless upgrade the HobbyZone Super Cub LP (HBZ7300). Half throttle take offs from thick grass, quarter throttle cruising! I'm using a Custom RC motor mount, APC 9x6 e prop, Hobbyking SS Series 15-18A ESC with the stock HobbyZone 3s 1300mah 15C batteries pulling around 4 amps cruising, maybe 8 amps on takeoff. I'm thinking the 2200mah Zippy's are going to give 20 minute flight times! This is going to be awesome on floats!
