More than just a fancy name. TURNIGY nano-tech lithium polymer batteries are built with an LiCo nano-technology substrate complex greatly improving power transfer making the oxidation/reduction reaction more efficient, this helps electrons pass more freely from anode to cathode with less internal impedance.
In short, less voltage sag and a higher discharge rate than a similar density lithium polymer (non nano-tech) battery.
Unfortunately with other big brands, numbers, ratings and graphs can be fudged. Rest assured, TURNIGY nano-techs are the real deal, delivering unparalleled performance!
The nano-core technology in lithium ion batteries is the application of nanometer conductive additives.
1) The nanometer conductive additives form ultrastrong electron-conducting networks in the electrodes which can increase electronic conductivity. 2) These additives create a superstrong ability for imbibition in the carrier liquid to supply more ion channels. This improves the ability of ion transmission and ion diffusion. Through improving electronic conductivity and ion transmission, the impedance is reduced and the polarization of high rate discharge decreases greatly.
Advantages over traditional Lipo batteries: -Power density reaches 7.5 kw/kg. -Less Voltage sag during high rate discharge, giving more power under load. -Internal impedance can reach as low as 1.2mΩ compared to that of 3mΩ of a standard Lipoly. -Greater thermal control, pack usually doesnt exceed 60degC -Thickness swelling during heavy load doesnt exceed 5%, compared to 15% of a normal Lipoly during heavy load. -Higher capacity during heavy discharge. More than 90% at 100% C rate. -Fast charge capable, up to 15C on some batteries. -Longer Cycle Life, almost double that of standard lipoly technology.
I would get a traxxas conector to keep it simple. Myself I would change all my connectors to deans. Keep in mind that always put female conectors on batties to keep them from shorting out.
Great battery. Using this in a brushless rustler. You dont need more the 5300mah, otherwise the excess wieght of the battery will mess with your suspension and handeling. If you want more run time, buy two 4000mah batterys, and have both charged before going out. I found out the hard way after realising a heavy battery makes your truck too heavy. Also with this battery set your LVD high, lipos are very sensitive to draing to much and damaging the lipo beyond repair.
Hi! I just want to be sure the parts I'm considering will all work together and are good choices for my application. I have a Slash 4x4, for which I was considering the Turnigy nano-tech 5300mah 2S2P 30~60C Hardcase Lipo Pack (USA Warehouse). Is this pack appropriate? To charge it, a Turnigy Accucel-6 50W 6A Balancer/Charger w/ accessories (USA Warehouse). Is that a good charger for that battery? How long might I expect charge times to take? As a power source, http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__20968__Ho bbyking_60w_Power_Supply.html. Given the power pack says 4a and the charger says 6a, does this mean it'll blow the power supply, or just take longer to charge the battery? Should I just charge for now off a car battery and wait for a better power supply to come back into stock?
Thanks for the time and advice!
Concerning the power supply, what really matters is that the 60 watt power supply is greater than the 50 watt charger, so it should be OK.
The 4 amps and 6 amps don't have a direct relationship since the the 4 amps is at 12 volts and the 6 amps is at whatever the charge voltage is (max 8.4 volts for a 2S LIPO).
if the charger did draw too much current it would shut down and you could set the maximum charge rate below 6 amps (and yes - it will take longer to charge).
5300 mA-hours = 318 Amp-minutes. The max current is 6 amps, so the theoretical minimum is 53 minutes. It will be longer since the charger reduces the current as the battery is charged.
In reality, I would expect the full charging time for to take at least 2 hours.
Need to add that this charger will not charge this battery any faster with a bigger power supply. This would not be the case with a battery with more cells like a 4S or 6S, etc.
Yes its a great fit, and plenty of power and run time, just received 2 of theae today will run on Rustler vxl, slash 4x4 and savage flux, your charger should be fine, as far as charge time Scott is pretty much on point
Sounds like your on the right track, i use the same batteries in my slash 4x4, have ran them over a year and love them, still have the same punch as they did when new,
awesome battery, that charger is great for the price

Looked great when I bought it, but the cells swelled so much that it split the hardcase. Was only 2 months old when it happened, with only 5-6 cycles on it. Wasn't abused, happened while sitting a few days after charge. I'm out of luck, as it looks like it has 30 day warranty. Do yourself a favor and buy a venom instead. I got what i paid for on this one. Even my zippys have lasted longer.

This battery fits great in my Slash 4x4. Good quality and performance for the price. Showed up in 2 days from the U.S. warehouse. I will be buying more of these for sure!
