Durafly once again set the standard with this high quality A-1 Skyraider which has enough scale detail and features to keep any warbird enthusiast happy. The 1100mm range offers the RC pilot a practical size model that can be easily transported and uses the ever popular 2200mAh 3s Lipoly pack, yet at the same time, the model is large enough to have presence and is able to tackle most airfields, not to mention a little wind, making it very practical.
As well as looking fantastic, this Skyraider is plug and fly, meaning very little assembly work is needed. The powerful outrunner motor, ESC, navigation lights, servoless Twist & Turn electric retracts, gear doors & servos are all pre-installed leaving you to glue on the tailfeathers and some scale detailing, bolt on the plug in wings and go flying!
We have flown this superb A-1 Skyraider extensively during testing and it will not disappoint, there is plenty of power for those really scale warbird aerobatics and the airframe is viceless with no hint of a tip stall. The pre-installed flap servos have a nice, slow operation to help prevent ballooning and the flaps themselves allow the approach speed to get down to a crawl without a hint of wingrock. There is no doubt, this is one fantastic looking warbird and it flies as easily as a low wing trainer!
Features: Ultra Scale Detail High Quality Construction & Finish Plug & Fly, simply add RX and Lipoly (not included) and fly! Optional missiles and drop tanks, model features additional clean wing panels Pre-Installed Twist and Turn Retracts with rubber tyres & functional gear doors INCLUDED Tough EPO Foam Construction Flaps fitted AS STANDARD with slow operation servo's for realism and to prevent ballooning Pre-Installed Navigation Lights Easy and Fast Construction
HI MATE !!!!! depends on the c rate on your speedy !!! most of my planes say 2200 3 cell !!! I run 4 cells in mine !! its like this ! if your speedy is lts say 30amp ! and your battry i rated at 35 -40 c rate !! dont !! just have allok at what yur spey amp rating is !!! i like the 4 cellS ! my sellf !! some say i shouldnt !!! but i have never hada problem !!! just means you get a little morepower and yu can fly a litle longer !!!
rec'd mine last week. and maidened it yesterday. It was gusting up to 15Kmh and the strip was damaged by cattle hoofs.. I did one blade in with a tip over on takeoff due to the bad runway. after eplacing, and held the elev at full up to hold the tail down, it took of and flew nicely. It was very touchy to AIL and ELE, so I need to add more EXPO and reduce authority in the Tx. next flight should be better. landed nicely with the flaps full down and look great in the air, with a nice rate of climb at 2/3 throttle. Very happy with this plane HK, and looking foreward to many more flights
All the right 2200mah 3S batts are out of stock in Aus. I recommend a Zippy Flightmax 2200 20C Series battery, 'cos it comes with the XT plug as T-bag says and you just slip it into the battery compartment and the CG is spot on. How cool is that?
Yep, received yesterday and built today. Easy build but manual a bit sp**** on detail.
Hopefully maiden in next few days. All discussion on RCGroups is positive in flight, hoping Ive got mine set up well also.
2 flight so far, retracts work well, haven't run the flaps yet. Gets airborne well slight left swing. Small trim changes, all push rods in centre hole except moved ailerons to outer hole and using 40% expo. 2 in a row good enough landings on grass, no nose over. Can add or remove ordinance. Flies solidly and nicely. 3 day delivery from Aus warehouse and lots of weight available for batteries or another airframe!

Finally came to Aus warehouse. 3 day delivery, well packed and weight available for batteries etc.
Easy build, manual not extensive, ie missing how to connect servos to surface but not hard for most users. Nice that hardware for each surface is in labelled ziplock bag and extra 1 or 2 screws per surface, good to have a few extra. Fixed all pushrods in centre horn hole.
Easy to weather, just kids water based paints and a small sponge, the A1 lost lots of oil underneath...
Got airborne with 3/4 throttle, little bit sensitive in roll so push rod to outer hole and 40pcnt expo, got 2 nice landings, last one in gusty 20 kph southerly.
Ran 4 mins on 2200 nanotechs, will get longer with confidence.
Good backup with lots of spare parts in HK store.
Great plane, I'm sure you'll be happy.

Ordered on Sunday from the Australian warehouse arrived in Cairn by Friday.
The wing was marked by the prop sitting on top of it but you don’t see this in the air.
Great plane looks the part flies really well. The under carriage lets it down very weak. I have had three flights and broke both under carriages on the short grass while landing; the third flight I tried to belly land and ripped off the drop tanks and stuffed the under carriage covers.
Just waiting for the spares to turn up.

Unbelievable value for money, had the whole plane together in an easy going 2 hours. All makes sense, wires are labelled and everything fits and works. Just using a 2200 3s lipo and has plenty of scale type thrust. A great addition to the fleet already have the T-28 trojan, but now I may have a new favorite. Will post a report after maiden flight as soon as I get back from field.
Cheers

What a great plane!! Plane arrived well packaged with no damage and went together so easy it wasnt funny. Maidened it on Saturday in gusty 30kt winds and it was a delight to fly, it was so confident in the air and looked bloody fantastic. (flying in Perth - the windy city) CoG was spot on and absolutly no trim required with 2200 placed fully forward. Flew again lastnight in similar winds with same result its an absolute delight to fly. The 0nly thing to look out for is the retract assembly popped on the second landing but not damage. will just hot glue them both in. All in all one bloody great plane and will be my favourite for a while yet.

Plane arrived last week in good order and quickly dispatched from AUS warehouse. I maidened it yesterday, and despite gusting 15kph winds and a badly pitted runway due to cattle hoofs !, I managed to take off after holding tail down with full ELE UP till reached airspeed. Otherwise, the front wheels can hit a hole and tip up. Plane flew well at 3/4 throttle with a 3000mah Lipo. It was very touchy on AIL and ELE, but this can be easily fixed with more expo and reduce servo travel by 30pcnt in the Tx. It slowed down nicely with 1/2 flaps and then full applied a few secs later, and landing was quite good considering the rough runway I had. looking foreward to many more flights after I get the Tx setting better setup, and also to fly in better conditions. great product HK, and well priced. I bought a spare prop and gear. and I have already used the spare prop due to a take-off tip up.. The prop is very close to the ground. I don;t recommend putting all of the ordinance onto this model, as it looks a bit too much and may reduce the performance a bit. i just put on the drop tanks.
