Hobbyking Reaktor 3D EPP 800mm (ARF) (USA Warehouse)
The Reaktor 3D EPP is a superb model for 3D aerobatic flying. Constructed of super durable EPP foam, this kit can handle just about anything you can throw at it.
Its large control surfaces offer extreme authority for 3D manuevers. It features an airfoiled wing with carbon fiber spars in-built making it extremely rigid.
Ailerons and elevator come pre-hinged which help keep assembly time to a minimum.
Thinking of purchasing this plane to run with (4)HXT500 5g servos with a D2822/14 Outrunner & either a 2S 25~50C / 2 Cell / 7.4V 1000mAh nano LiPo. I want some advice with regards to the battery and motor choice, since Req's call for a 2612 outrunner I want to make sure this motor is a good fit and if I used my existing 3 Cell 1000mAh 11.1v would be too heavy for this plane. Thanks in advance for your reply.
Never mind took the plunge and made the purchase, went with 850mAh LiPo nano-tech and ordered a 2612 from Int warehouse as a back up should the D2822/14 be too big.
Thanks Slickjdub, for the heads up good to know Tell me what motor are you using. I have a Turnigy D2822/14 that I plan to use but want a pancake motor as a back up.
I have the same motor have not flown yet waiting on my servos that i ordered the tgy-5009 metal gear 9g never liked the plastic gears would post a pic of build but not sure how too
Hmm, good question, I would think either you could post it through your acct. page or perhaps the file tab? I was afraid the the 9g would be too big/heavy. I imagine though the metal gears hold up better. I saw today My order already shipped, so that made my day hopefully I'll have the plane by Weds next week.
They have to ship it here from china. Two (2) Reaktors and nothing else on the order cost me $94.00 (from china) the shipping from china cost me almost as much as the planes. And WOW this last shipment sold out fast.
here again hk is off there rocker.. its half the price of the plane to ship it to me in the next state 16 dollars from lakewood calif. to phx. az. it might!!! thats might cost 4 dollars to ship it via usps or ups.. whats up with that **** hk
thats a easy one.. they censor anything they want period.. mostly if you talk about another hobbyshops name or say a cuss word or if they think it might hurt there bus.
I really should have bought a couple of these when they were in stock, because this plane has very quickly become my absolute favorite plane to fly, & its quite possibly the best epp plane I've ever flown.....
I threw in the digital hs65 servos into this, with a 2205 bushless, & 10amp esc, which are all available in the US warehouse, & u can do some pretty amazing stuff with that setup.....
I'm definitely going to order another one for backup once they're back in stock.
1 Aaron. My brother and I each got one a couple of months back. He put in the 2205 1400kv and I used the 24 gram 1300kv, both running 3s 850 nanos. Pretty similar setups though his has less prop torque running 8060 vs 9047 on mine. They are both an absolute blast to fly, and can take the occasional high speed landing without a problem.
Says in the description control surfaces come pre-hinged. If thats what you call pre-hinged than I'm pretty disappointed. First off there are no hinges at all. Second, The router cuts in the bottom of the wing are not deep enough. It's so stiff it would ware out your servos. I will be cutting the ailerons off for sure and hinging them. Third the cutouts for the aileron servos are off center by more than 7mm right and forward. Pretty sloppy qc in my book. Other than that the kit looks great. Well, double boxed package, kit in excellent shape otherwise/.
I would prefer a 900 to 950mah battery (11.1v) I need a battery charger I want four 9g servos I need an ESC I want a 370 motor, 1100 to 1400KV I need two 8x4 pros for slow flyers I need a receiver for a Futaba 6EX-2.4GHz transmitter (I have the transmitter) PLEASE HELP WITH THIS ORDER
In regards to the REAKTOR:
Here is my setup and thoughts.
I fly with a Zippy 850mah battery, 4 Eflite 7.6g digital servos, a Rimfire 300 outrunner, and a 20a Eflite esc, and a OrangeRx 6ch rx.
I have an all up weight of 312g and really feel I overbuilt this plane. I could have easily used a 10a esc but most 10a esc's only provide a 1a bec. I swithched to a 20a esc with a 2a bec and that is still not enough for 4 7.6g digital servos. After a snap roll, the bec will overload and shut the rx down.
perfect servo: Turnigy TGY-1800A 8g servo's- The longer arms fit. They are a good choice for the Reator: Stronger but slightly bigger than HXT500, lighter faster and smaller than HXT900's and they sound better :)
The D65 digital servos are awesome on this plane.....& they're not too pricey either for how quick & accurate they are.....
Stick with a little beefier servo for the ailerons though, unless u don't ever hit the ground that is....lol

Just opened the box and am impressed with the contents and kit. Everything looks solid and true...no issues so far, decent manual as well. Nice paint scheme and I like the EPP cut hinges.
Will update once the build starts!

the quality of this kit was unimpressive. fuse built poorly and not straight at all. spent alot of time trying to fix. i recomend reinforcing the wing with small flat rod carbon fiber. stock reinforcement is weak. motor mount wood is week also. had to put some glue on before first flight. flies ok for price. fun but alot of trim due to poor quality. 2205c-1400 motor w/ 12amp plush works great. 5 gram servos good for elev and rud but not enough for good ail throw. ended up using hs55 in ailerons. work great. also recomend a little welders glue on control surface hinges for strenth. this plane works for cheap plane that you dont care about hitting the dirt with and learning some 3d. experienced 3d pilots should spend a bit more on something like a crack yak from twisted hobbys if you really want to have fun.
grinded out the gears on the 5g servos. Use the 9g servos, they weigh basically the same, have longer wires and will give stronger surfaces.

This is one of my fun one's to fly, easy build, will do all the moves and lands easy. My set up, 4- 9 gram servos, 2208-12 with a 10/6 GWS with a 20a esc and 3 cell 460. I get about a 5 min with this set up.

Just got my backup Reaktor now that its in stock again, but I'm still having a ton of fun with my 1st one.....after a billion flights & a million crashes, the only thing I've really had to do to it is replace a couple props, & reglue in the wing cf spar.....its super light & almost bounces when u hit the ground, so I highly recommend this plane for learning 3D. I'm running the 2205c motor available in the us warehouse with a 20a hk ss esc, & the nanotech 3s 850mah.....balances out perfectly.....oh, I highly recommend using digital servos with this one, cause they really make this plane super responsive & precise.
