I receive this TX nowaday. I did setup drivers and t6config from cd, but after connect to PC i see in t6config moving only CH4, other channel not move. I tried on 2 different PC with Windows 7 x64 Ultimate. What is the problem? Why is it ?

do you need to bind the tx to rx each time you go to fly the airplane?
   Rodolfo (100%)
No, you only need to bind once. Try to turn on the tx before the rx and you probably never more need to bind it again.

Hi, I am a newbie here, Sorry if iam asking foolish question. Can somebody let me know the exact matching receiver for this TX, I need to buy one of these transmitters and few receivers.but the only available RX seems doesnt working with this( V1 and V2) Thanks in advance.

Hobby King 2.4Ghz Receiver 6Ch V2
they don't have a (4) channel receiver, so the (6)channel one is what you need. It will work with the (4) channel transmitter. You just have to Bind it. look at the comments on the page for the Hobby King 2.4Ghz 4Ch Tx & Rx V2 (Mode 2). People tell you how to bind it.

I have just installed this TX/RX in a 450 class helicopter. The set up went smoothly, and the bird flies great, but the TX/RX has a glitch in it, it losses signal for about 0.5 to 1 second at least every minute or so. Needless to say this could be disasterous if you are doing 3d. I am wondering if anyone else has had a glitching problem and fixed it. As well, I have let my batteries in the TX run down to about half (yellow light when you turn the TX on) Could this be the problem?

Thanks,

Dan

Sorry, This question should be under the 6 channel TX/RX.

Hacked the 2.4Ghz module for my old 40Mhz futaba t-6xhs and works perfectly. No changes on my model settings were made.

The 5V regulator needs some heatsink to increase reliability otherwise conversion was straightforward.

I have one of these 4 channel systems and it works great but spec says it has a Trainer system option and indeed it has a port marked Trainer in the back of the Tx but there is no switch or lever to pass control to the student Tx??? Also, I cannot find a trainer cord for this Tx on the HobbyCity site is there one?

Interested in using this radio in a car - should i use mode 1 or 2 to replicate a car style stick controller? I assume throttle on these radios a sliding stick that stays where you put it, and does not have a spring? On car radios it is normal to have one stick on the left that goes up/down for throttle /brake, and one on the right for steering there that goes left/right. Both have springs that return the stick to neutral. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
   Malfamartin (70%)
It helps if you read all text in a thread Felix!
This 4CH Tx will of course work for boats and cars as well, but the trottle stick needs to be without ratchet (forward-reverse). So I borrowed a spring and a lever arm from the elevator function, and put the ratchet there. It would be nice to have the parts taped inside the Tx or the possibility to buy them as spares. Or do anyone else have another idea?
I really hope that HK will start to sell a car/boat radio! Pistol grip Radio!
   speedstar99 (72%)
Felix,
Just get mine today. I'm use mode 2 for my rc car. The left/ throttle stick(forward-reverse) only dont have the spring. Left stick(left-right), right stick(forward-reverse,right-left) all have spring. Then i open the Tx, i pull out the spring on the right stick(forward-reverse) and put it in the left stick(forward-reverse). Only takes 15 minutes.
If mode 2 is out of stock, you can get mode 1. Because the right/ left stick can interchangeable to each other.

I have found the problem. I hate to admit it but the Main Rx LED has been working all along I was just not looking in the right place! I looked on the top, bottom, and one side but never looked on the other side. Sure enough it comes on as documented.
   ishady (68%)
HE3...no problem then
I think most of the HK receiver came perfectly out of the box.
Thank you for your info.

ohnjay (64%)
Ishady thanks for the suggestions but I have checked these very carefully.
I am using 4 AA batteries to power the Receivers with a measured voltage of 5.25V. As I mentioned system works perfectly in normal operation with all four channels operating correctly. I read that some had experienced problems with defective binding plugs but I checked mine with an ohmmeter and it is fine. I just tried it again and noticed that the LED in the remote receiver IS working correctly and, when I go through the binding process, it does respond as documented. However NO LED ever comes on in the main receiver at any time. I hate to send it back since it does work in normal operation (and the time it will take to get a replacement) but I am wondering if I should to get one that works as it completely should I?. Anybody else have a system where only the Remote Rx LED comes on?

I just received my Hobby King 2.4Ghz 4Ch Tx & Rx (Mode 2) and it works out of the box BUT I then I tried to re-bind but after plugging in the bind plug in the BAT channel and adding battery power to another channel NO LEDs came on - anybody else experience this and/or know what the problem is?

Thanks
   ishady (68%)
Please check the polarity of your battery (use battery between 3.5Volt and maximum 6Volt).
The battery's positive should be in the middle pin and the negative should be at the right pin (the most outside of the receiver).

can you bind multiple recievers to this,
then switch between them?
   ishady (68%)
YES I already use more than 1 rx with only 1 tx,
bind them 1 by 1, no problem.
Just dont use all receiver at the same time..it will be the ticket to disaster...LOL...(but I think you already knew that).
Thx.

BINDPLUG CLARIFICATION - BearPaw or others, I would appreciate further advice on how to use the bind plug - Is that what is referred to as the jumper in the post above? But the bind plug has two ends - where do they both connect? Help!
   ishady (68%)
The bind plug is the device you said allrite.
I use the more wider plug, dont worry: it work.
Just plug it into the receiver's BAT channel.
No problemo.

Hello all,

Thanks to ajbaker from rcgroups forum. I managed to bind Rx and Tx. Following these instructions:

1. Install the batteries in the transmitter.
2. Insert the jumper to the Bat port of the receiver.
3. Connect the receiver battery to any one of the channel- ports. Note: at the same time there are two LED’s flashing meaning the receivers are going into bind status.
4. Press and hold the Bind button on the transmitter, and then switch on the transmitter.
5. Observe the LED on the receiver. When the LED stops flashing, the bind was successful. (This process about 10 seconds)
6. Release the Bind button on the transmitter and remove the jumper and receiver battery.
7. Install a servo and receiver battery and then test.
8. If the tests fail, please repeat steps 1-7.
Notes: The negative pin is on the short side of the receiver (i.e. The signal is toward the center of the receiver).

Also if someone wants to use trainer port for FMS with SPP. Ground is shield and signal line (PPM) is on pin 1 (when you look at trainer port on Tx upper left pin) Hope this will help someone. Will try tomorrow.

Cheers.

I am a newbie and I have purchased this radio. I am managing to bind Tx and Rx (Rx LED is giving continuous light). But if try to move controls nothing happens. I tried to connect it to simulator on PC (using SPP and training port) and I can't hear any sound (tried both walkera and e-sky type of connection). Has anyone tried to use SPP with this transmitter?

Thanks

For controlling some electronica, if quitais TX module inside the transmitter and install it within a 6-channel computer radio, you can use the 6-channel receiver in addition to dual-mixing rates, expo. etc. I have converted my Futaba receivers for use with Hobby King! The price comparison is very, Futaba from € 80 to € 10 of these .. and the result just as good. Saludos ..

Ok so its called satellite?? Is it some kind of signal booster?
   rcmodelreviews. (90%)
It's not a signal booster, it's a second receiver that helps when the signal reaching the main receiver gets week or is affected by reflections or blocking by the environment.

Would it be good for a scratch built foam profile airplane? I am thinking about building one for the first time. Looks like it has two modules on the receiver side as opposed to one module that you typically have for MHz freq ones. I also see that someone says it is 12g weight, but I am not sure if it includes both the modules?
   rcmodelreviews. (90%)
For a model that was being flown just 100-200m away then you can get away without using the satellite,

I have installed a Rhino 1250mAh 31P 20C Lipoly Pack together with a Maxpro Battery Monitor 3S. Of course I had to make a cut out in the compartment to make room for it. With foam on the PCB (printed circuit board) you can even get room for Rhino 2620mAh 3S 11.1v Tx Lipoly Pack. I did this because I'm fed up with AA NiMh cells that looses current 10% first day and 1,5% every day after.
   rcmodelreviews. (90%)
You've been using the wrong NiMH cells. I've got a JR 9XII (9303) beside me that hasn't been charged for two months. When I turned it on it still showed 10.5V. Avoid the hi-capacity NiMH cells (>1800mAH) and stick to a reputable brand. All my transmitters have Sanyo 1650mAH packs and hold their charge for far longer than I need them to. And I get a full weekends flying out of them on a single charge.
   Malfamartin (70%)
That was very usable info my friend! I have none less than 2000MAh and what I thought was known for quality. The data I wrote comes from an official site for batteries. Now I have LiPo's in my TX (all 5 of them), but I'll test your way in my 4AA Canon Camera. Thanks rcmodelreviews!
