What thrust can I expect with 3S lipo and 5x3 three-blade props?
benjamin  52 points - 3/25/2013

Does motor come with a propsaver ?
 Antonio 14 points
Yes, like the one on the picture, Cheers.

appropriate battery 30 gram (10g=25 watt theory) only produced 50 watts...whereas 70 watts was attained using a 72 gram battery. Both with the 7x3.5 prop
 psguardian 34 points
Try a watt meter & a higher C rated pack. weight = watts doesn't work.
chih seng  6 points - 12/31/2012

anyone know what size is the grub screws on the motor . i think they r 2 types on it.thanks
 Arxangel 983 points
They are M2.
 chih seng 6 points
i found out the one on the bell is 0.89mm and the base is 1.27mm, prop saver is also 1.27mm
 Arxangel 983 points
If you were asking about the size of the hex drive that you would need, then those sizes are correct. I thought you were asking about the thread size on the grubs - it is M2.

can this work on a 30amp esc and 2200mah 3s lipo? will it burn?
 SkyClad 10 points
on a 6x4 prop
 teflyer 151 points
It should be able to.
 David 1 points
Using the the bigger ESC is not a problem (except for additional weight). The 3S lipo will run the motor hot, and it will likely burn out quickly. It may survive but you'll be working it hard!!

could somemone recomend me a prop size which would fit whith this motor and gave me around 200-250grams of thrust??? (whith 2S lipo) thanks u so much
 smallplane 62 points
I use a 5x3 and my Mini Swift climbs vertically with 2S
 Panrahk 4 points
Mini swift is more 170gr than 250gr... Anybody can confirm the thrust with a 5x3 or 5x4.3 prop ??
 Chris 3 points
My test data with a turnigy 10A ESC On 2S 5030 prop - 130gr at 3.3A 5043 prop - 150gr at 4.4A 6030 prop - 180gr at 4.7A On 3S 5030 prop - 240gr at 6.1A 5043 prop - 260gr at 6.9A 6030 prop - 300gr at 7.8A

The battery makes a difference....200mah 20c batt. 36 watts 2s w/ 7x3.5 prop...275 mah 35-40c batt. 40 watts 2s w/ 7x3.5 prop...Any one find the missing 32 watts? Is it in my battery choice maybe?

il y a 2 vis hexagonales diffé*rentes sur le moteur quels sont les tailles des clé* a utiliser ? j'ai 1.5mm et 0.9mm et ce n'est pas les bonnes there are two different hexagonal screws on the engine what are the key sizes to use? I have 1.5mm and 0.9mm and it is not good thanks
 Jose Luis 5 points
1,27mm for prop saver an base screws and 1mm for the rotor screws.

is motor suitable for AXN floater jet? using 3cell 22oo. thanks
 majik01 2907 points
Get this motor instead (it is the replacement you are looking for). Floater-Jet Replacement Motor (AXN-2208-2150)- look for it in the Brushless Motors > Outrunners by size > Bell Type ... comes with the long wires too!

will this work on a single cell, and if so aprox. how long flight time on 240mah with gws3020?
 SargeNZ 206 points
you will not get any useful power out of this motor on 1S. It is efficient on 2S and a screamer on 3S. It can handle an 8040 on 2 cells so with one cell I guess a 10 inch prop? Torque would be so low it would be useless for anything but a desk fan!
 surfer dude 26 points
No, this is a 2-3 cell motor.
gittarpikk  30 points - 9/29/2010

Anyone ever ran this one on a real small prop like a Precision 4.1 and something like 4C or 5C on a 3 inch prop? Would it hold together at high RPM?
 SargeNZ 206 points
I dont know about 4 or 5 cells, But I run cells and a 5030 GWS prop. It really rips on a 100g delta wing. Why on earth would you want 4 or 5 cells on the inevitably small plane this motor would power? Try removing a few turns from each stator tooth to increase the Kv, watch the amps.
 SargeNZ 206 points
3 cells that is.

Re why..at 4 or 5 cells, it would be really turning up...but I feel it probably would not hold together (bearings etc)...The interest, at the time, was a micro pylon racer for 150 MPH speeds
In reality ..too little, too fast..unsafe, impractical
Johnsn  53 points - 8/15/2010

will this work with a gws 3blade 5030 on 3cell?
 gazza2009au 311 points
no i just bench tested a GWS 5x4.3 fresh charged battery 500mah 3S flightmax i got 8.6A the max recommended amp is 8.5A
 BradleyK 69 points
it would work, just keep the throttle limited so it it is less than the recommended, and only go above if needed to save a crash
 gittarpikk 30 points
I have already flown it in a little bipe of my design and with a 6X4 prop cut to 5.5 it flys really well with a 3s 460Mah 20 c Rhino...but I really don't think it would do a 4S or 5S with a tiny prop...may have to try it to see...something like a precision 4.1 apc x 3 or 4
david in japan  136 points - 7/23/2010

ok ladies, what would be the outcome if i ran 7035 gws prop and 3s 2200mah battery? thanks !
 gazza2009au 311 points
if you wear the skirt first i will let you know
 alex1er 114 points
Hi, I've got it and it runs fine. Never try the 3S because they are not mentioned in the spec... With 2S, it can handle 5x5 and 6X5
maestros  184 points - 5/15/2010

is this motor suitable and recommended for my AXN floater jet?

8 thumbs up!
For those with 200~300 gram foamies, this is the powerhouse brushless motor you want if you are trying to keep the weight down.
It runs perfectly with the super simple 10 amp esc.
It has plenty of power to run with 2 cell 15C batteries
Using a gws 7035 plus 500mah, 2cell 15C battery it uses
8.28Ap
65.5Wp
0.007Ah
12~15 minute flight times
It's an incredibly powerful little motor for the amount of current it uses.

6 thumbs up!
I used two of these motors on an upgraded Wright Flyer. Good power w/6.38 x 3.9 pusher prop. Well made and easily synchronized for equal output. Included prop savers a nice addition as well. Light weight, powerful and inexpensive.....always a good combination. Thanks HK! Highly recommended!!!
