appropriate battery 30 gram (10g=25 watt theory) only produced 50 watts...whereas 70 watts was attained using a
72 gram battery. Both with the 7x3.5 prop
If you were asking about the size of the hex drive that you would need, then those sizes are correct. I thought you were asking about the thread size on the grubs - it is M2.
Using the the bigger ESC is not a problem (except for additional weight). The 3S lipo will run the motor hot, and it will likely burn out quickly. It may survive but you'll be working it hard!!
My test data with a turnigy 10A ESC
On 2S
5030 prop - 130gr at 3.3A
5043 prop - 150gr at 4.4A
6030 prop - 180gr at 4.7A
On 3S
5030 prop - 240gr at 6.1A
5043 prop - 260gr at 6.9A
6030 prop - 300gr at 7.8A
The battery makes a difference....200mah 20c batt. 36 watts 2s w/ 7x3.5 prop...275 mah 35-40c batt. 40 watts 2s w/ 7x3.5 prop...Any one find the missing 32 watts? Is it in my battery choice maybe?
il y a 2 vis hexagonales diffé*rentes sur le moteur
quels sont les tailles des clé* a utiliser ? j'ai 1.5mm et 0.9mm et ce n'est pas les bonnes
there are two different hexagonal screws on the engine
what are the key sizes to use? I have 1.5mm and 0.9mm and it is not good
thanks
Get this motor instead (it is the replacement you are looking for). Floater-Jet Replacement Motor (AXN-2208-2150)- look for it in the Brushless Motors > Outrunners by size > Bell Type ... comes with the long wires too!
you will not get any useful power out of this motor on 1S. It is efficient on 2S and a screamer on 3S. It can handle an 8040 on 2 cells so with one cell I guess a 10 inch prop? Torque would be so low it would be useless for anything but a desk fan!
I dont know about 4 or 5 cells, But I run cells and a 5030 GWS prop. It really rips on a 100g delta wing. Why on earth would you want 4 or 5 cells on the inevitably small plane this motor would power? Try removing a few turns from each stator tooth to increase the Kv, watch the amps.
Re why..at 4 or 5 cells, it would be really turning up...but I feel it probably would not hold together (bearings etc)...The interest, at the time, was a micro pylon racer for 150 MPH speeds In reality ..too little, too fast..unsafe, impractical
I have already flown it in a little bipe of my design and with a 6X4 prop cut to 5.5 it flys really well with a 3s 460Mah 20 c Rhino...but I really don't think it would do a 4S or 5S with a tiny prop...may have to try it to see...something like a precision 4.1 apc x 3 or 4
For those with 200~300 gram foamies, this is the powerhouse brushless motor you want if you are trying to keep the weight down. It runs perfectly with the super simple 10 amp esc. It has plenty of power to run with 2 cell 15C batteries Using a gws 7035 plus 500mah, 2cell 15C battery it uses 8.28Ap 65.5Wp 0.007Ah 12~15 minute flight times It's an incredibly powerful little motor for the amount of current it uses.

6 thumbs up!
I used two of these motors on an upgraded Wright Flyer. Good power w/6.38 x 3.9 pusher prop. Well made and easily synchronized for equal output. Included prop savers a nice addition as well. Light weight, powerful and inexpensive.....always a good combination. Thanks HK! Highly recommended!!!
