Will this work in the ParkZone Ultra-Micro J-3 Cub BNF? Original battery specs are for 3.7V 120mAh 14C Li-Po battery. Also, will the original charger work with this battery? If not please recommend a charger that will work with full range of batteries. Thank you!

I do not think this battery is suitable for Nine Eagles Solo Pro, the connector type is totally different, but if you manage to modify the connector then it should be OK.
I have ordered one and am going to try to adapt the connector for a Nine Eagles Solo, same connector type as the Pro version.
Hobby King, please shell this battery with Nine Eagles connector type too, you will find a lot of interested customers waiting for it.

I've soldered the mini-jst plug to my Nine Eagles Solo so I could use this battery. Fits perfectly and works awesomely.
I've also opened the remote control and soldered a mini-jst connector to the charger port so the controller can charge these batteries as well. Again, works perfectly. It chargers the batteries at approx 2C, so not to destroy them like the parkzone chargers do at 3C.

Boys, we have the 150mAh version coming in a couple of weeks. Because it's a little bigger we were able to get the capacity more stable as well. Just don't mark the pack with your fingernail, or it will drop 5mAh. :-)

Are these things really that bad on a Blade Msr? I see people saying they get 5:00 compared to the stock 6:00+, but when you consider a stock battery is $7.49 vs $1.99. You can get 3 Flightmax's for less than the stock, so thats 15:00 to 6:00 and still a $1.52 saved.
|
|
|

maukabud

Yep...problem is that the C rating is too low for the MsR. I started out getting 5+ mins with 8 batteries, now about two weeks of heavy rotation through the charger (charging at 1C and not flying to LVC) I am seeing my flight times going below 4mins on 6 of the 8 batts. Hard to not fly to LVC when the flight times are going down down down. I think HC needs to come out with a 150mah 15C batt comparable to the Eflite upgrade batt for the msR.

I had very ***r luck with these batteries in a UM P51. The C rating is too low, 15 seconds WOT fresh off of the charger and they hit soft cut off, the stock PZ battery is good for just over 2 min WOT same plane. They do produce 5 min flights in parallel but you would be better off using the 240mAh Zippy cells for the PZ P51.

I received my latest shippment and they are not any where as good as my old ones. I'm getting around 3 minutes of flight time with all seven of the new ones.. Get 7 minutes of flight with the E-Flite 14c and still 5 minutes using my first Flightmax 138's They seem to have lowered the quality of these just about to the point of being worthless at any price..

I just ordered some of these packs for the upcoming Blade mSR that I have pre-ordered. I just noticed that the packs it comes with are 14C. That means the E-Flite pack is capable of supplying 1.68A compared to the 1.38A the zippy pack is rated to. Are the ZIPPY Flightmax 138mAh 1S 10C packs going to be able to supply enough current? I guess I am asking if these packs are really only capable of delivering 10C still.

It would be nice to have here in HK some charger for this little battery. As the cost is very low, you buy many of this babies and majority of people only have the original Blade mCX chager... Specific charger or some plugs that we could charger 3,4,5 or 6 batteries at the same time in the Acculer-6 or any other charger/balance. Jason5001, do you think its possible? There has been a delay on shipping, but now the first orders have just shipped. In about five days, we will rush to review this promising little gem. Until then, the reviews will be based on imaginations or desires, but not on facts and real tests.
While the capacity is double than the usual 70mAh units, the stated weight is less than double... My two units (Etomic brand) weight 2.56 and 2.40 grams, compared to the 3.7g of this 138mAh batt.
For the record, the actual stock at 5:49 AM (CET), April 1 is -770! (and yes, it is not a fools day joke)

It topped over -1373 (apr 13, 15:17 CET, 12 hours before the "It's arrived" email). After two hours restocked, stock was 521. We'll see how long it lasts.
And I am still waiting for my parcel... :~(

Wow! did these sell out fast or what.
Great to see these carried by HC. Now if we could just get the plug / sockets as well for our own builds.
Does anyone know where you can get the socket that these plug into?

Yes, why 20C at first and now 10C? Looks really, really bad from a customers perspective :( And those planes would REALLY need this Power (20C) - not that they pull that much, but high voltage at load would be good for a little more power in flight...

Now I wonder which is the C-rating of the $9 Etomic brand original batteries of my ParkZone Vapor... Their label only say: "3.7V 70mAh Li-Po Battery", and under the adhesive label it is printed "FULLRIVER 3.7V 70mAh". The ParkZone web gives no more data... Does anyone know it for sure?

Do you even know how many C E-flite batteries have... no i thought so. 10c is good for a battery of this size 1.38 amps is plenty of power.

So why did the specs drop from 20c to 10c after 500 people have already ordered it?

Maybe there is some misunderstanding here... I found this product a little time after its introduction (when stock was already 421), and its name was then "ZIPPY Flightmax 138mAh 1S 10C (Kyosho Minium Etc)", so it was clearly rated at 10C.
This fact is not depending on my weak memory, because I was copypasting the line from the "New stock arrivals" page, to keep track of the stock, and be warned if I must hurry up to avoid being backordered (again). The first record I took (between 3:00 and 3:30 AM CET 25/03/2009) was: ZIPPY Flightmax 138mAh 1S 10C (Kyosho Minium Etc) RATE IT! $1.99 421
You can check the confirmation email "Your order at HobbyKing, #200408405" and see if the product name is the same: "#Z1381S-10/8864 ZIPPY Flightmax 138mAh 1S 10C (Kyosho Minium Etc) variations = $"
Just for the record, if someone is curious about the expected time from introduction to out-of-stock of new HobbyKing products: (all times are CET (GMT+1)) 4:02 25/03/2009 ZIPPY Flightmax 138mAh 1S 10C (Kyosho Minium Etc) 353 13:05 25/03/2009 ZIPPY Flightmax 138mAh 1S 10C (Kyosho Minium Etc) 77 14:01 25/03/2009 ZIPPY Flightmax 138mAh 1S 10C (Kyosho Minium Etc) -9 22:40 25/03/2009 ZIPPY Flightmax 138mAh 1S 10C (Kyosho Minium Etc) -88 23:55 26/03/2009 ZIPPY Flightmax 138mAh 1S 10C (Kyosho Minium Etc) -375
(stock only lasted for 10 hours, so this offers are only for early birds...)

Your are right. It is great to see HobbyKing assaulting the micro RC market.
Please, keep on this way, HobbyKing :)
When will be possible to buy here the ParkZone Vapor DSM2 brick? Or the "AR6400 DSM2 6CH Ultra-Micro Receiver/ESC"?
