Is this made of brass? The coloring is silver?

Yes. The nut is solid brass, that has been chromed. I have several they are cheap, and work well.

1 thumbs up!
8mm thread tight as it has been chromed after thread is cut. would suggest tapping before use is going on alloy thread but steel thread will cut but very tight.
