Hey guys just looking at getting new batteries for my HBFP v2 been flying for about a year now and the three that i bought with it (Esky 800 Mah 11.1v) where alright but cost $30 each. Should have bought these!!! however i just wanted to check they would fit. Also if these batteries where actualy the best or whether a 1000 mah would be better. Can't go smaller otherwise the heli would be to tail heavy (the batteries currently sit as far forward as they can go). Thx in advance Oscar
Barry  24 points - 1/23/2013

It depends on your charge rate. Rule of thumb is to charge at 1-2c. Basically what that means is 1-2 times the capacity =charge rate in amps. Since this is a relatively small battery, I would limit charging it above an amp. at that rate if it was half charged, it should take approx. 20 minutes to charge fully. Hope this helped!

Hi there, There are mixed messages in this discussion forum. I bought this batteries together with a 2s/3s charger from turnigy, with an output of 650mah PER CELL. The maximun battery charge load is 2c, for this 800mah it will be 1600mah. What I don't understand now is: -If I just consider the charger to charge at 650mah, I am charging well under 1c. -If you consider the charger to charge at 650mah x 3 cells = 1950mah. This amount is about 2.4c Can someone please tell me which of the above is right? Is a charger that provide 650mah/cell appropriate for this 800mah 3cell battery? Thanks! To avoid confusions, please only reply if you are 100% sure...
 DarrenMc 63 points
The cells are in series so voltage increases but current stays the same I.e. each cell has a rating of 800maH at 3.7v and is still 800maH even with three cells. You will have no problem charging this battery at 650maH it will just take longer than 1 hour. Personally, I don't like to charge at over 1C for Li-Poly batteries.

what is the best charger to buy for this battery?
 Sumeet 159 points
Well, I would recommend you to buy a charger that is capable of charging Lipo batteries at low current levels. Most Lipo batteries are safe to be charged at 1C or below. That means you need a charger that charges on rate around 800mAh or below. Thanks.

Thanks Paul, I have two question:
1- This mpotor is it goog?(Turnigy 2627 Brushless Outrunner 3800kv)

2- The motor has two pinion, but they don´*t fit in the maingear. What can i do?

Thanks
 Paul 11 points
On the first, no idea. I've never had one. Read the reviews under the product for a general idea.

On the second, that's getting too complicated for quick answers here. Head over to RCGroups**** where you can show pictures of your problems and I'm sure someone will pop in to help.

how long I cam fly with this pack?
 Paul 11 points
It depends entirely on the plane. If you are using a larger motor it can be as little as between 3 and 4 minutes. Using a much smaller motor you'll get much more.

I have a plane using an 8 amp motor and get a good 12-15 mins out of it (depending on how hard I fly).

Without knowing what plane it's going into it's pretty impossible to tell you what to expect unfortunately.

se le monti al kinetic queste batterie possono durare anche 10 min. ovviamente non tenere sempre il motore al massimo poichè motore e regolatore si scaldano un po' ..

Hiya ,
I got one of these squeezed in a walkera transmitter. I am flying almost daily for a week now and I still did not recharge it! These are very good LiPo packs.
 Gary Toh 31 points
It depend on how many power yr tx consume. Can use this fomula to calculate.

If you tx consume 0.8 amp, it will last 1 hour.
If you tx consume 1.6 amp, it will last 0.5 hour.

Hope that help.

 BIRGER 130 points
Yes, it will take a little longer to charge but will work fine. Unless specified otherwise you want to ensure that your charge current is no more than your battery capacity. In this case 650mA < 800mA so you are OK.
 Stayning 20 points
Yes you can. will work just fine.
 KaosKane 1429 points
Umm Yes again *}
 AdrenaCo 135 points
Yes this battery can be charged with up to 2C rate i.e. 1600Mah max. It will take a while before it is fully charged at such a low rate however.
 __hobo 203 points
yes, of course!
 jojoles 290 points
hello. i think, it will be good for 800 mAh lipo, but not for 500mAh. best charging for lipo batteries are 1C, and output on this charger is 650 mAh...it is dangerous for smaller capacity batteries. you can not change output linear from 0-650mAh on this charger! be carrefuly.
 Evertton Castro 72 points
No. It'll charge up 1c. not recommend for this battery. You can uses a Accucell 6 and set to charge at 300mAh or 400mAh.
 icemanx79 12 points
yes you can use the turnigy 2s/3s charger for this battery
 Elektroquirl++ 264 points
sure, no problem. expect some extra minutes charging time until it is readily charged, that's all.
 ministeve2003 439 points
yes it should work fine.

Hope that helps
SK
 Pete 16 points
The specs would indicate you can, charging at 1C or less.
 guildy93 138 points
Yes, but it will take more than one our to be fully charged.
 WeKkY 60 points
Yes ! With absolutely no problem ! And you can charge any 2S 3S battery ! Just consider this : Time of charge will change in function of the battery capacity with your charger.
 Noggin 46 points
Yes, should be ok
 Bjarne K 99 points
yes it would be fine Bjarne.
 helivader 74 points
yes, you certainly can
 David 12 points
yes, you require 800mA, the charger does 650 per cell i.e 1950 mA in total
 FLASHSAVAGE 5 points
Yes it should be fine !
 Foxtrot 28 points
Of course, you can do it without problems
 andrew_stick 22 points
Yes. But it take more time. About 1.5 hours.
 jefraub 13 points
Sure, you have 650 mA per cell, so in 3S you have 1950 mA. Regards
 gates 18 points
yes, it will take a little longer but yes use a 3s charger no more than .8 amp while charging.
example a 1500mah batt should charge at 1.5amp or less.
 taildragger1951 10 points
Yes, but it will simply take longer than an hour.
 Chad 12 points
yes that will work fine
 tommo85 142 points
Yes that will charge fine. However I would look into getting a new and better charger soon, like the iMax BC6
 Daniel 90 points
Yes but it will be slow.
 Rahul 9 points
yes. anything that will charge a 3s battery. Check on the current, and see that it does not exceed the C value in charge.
 flash242424 568 points
I recommend that HK web developers implement functionality that would be not answer the question proposed to her and just disappear from the list of questions of our accounts, so we can do a better job. Could also be filtered the questions where the best answer already as been chosen. Unregistered users (Customer) should not be able to ask questions because they could not choose the best answer and give the 20c to someone.

Which connector do you use for the ESC-Batt connection in 250 size heli? This battery came with the JST connector but I am in doubt whether it can carry the current without problem. Please advise me a connector to exchange with the JST. BTW, Happy new year!:)
 GeneralSpecific 9 points
I kept the JST connector on mine, I haven't noticed a problem yet. If you really want to, you could go with a connector similar to Deans.
 SeeReal 6 points
I use the JST connecters for a long time in this small size heli and had no problems jet at all. Greez
 Lourdes 10 points
JST is perfect for this battery. Since it's only 800mah JST's will work fine. You want to always use the lightest possible plug for your application.
 Rahul 9 points
well JST will work. But I will tell you what i have told many others. GET A DEANS! you'll be happier! :) just cut the wires out on both ends and replace the connectors to male and female deans.

Has anyone tried charging at the stated 2C charge rate. It would be good if I could ***p these out of my chargers faster. Or I buy a 2x2S charge adapter.
 SomeUselessGeek 180 points
Good catch, but I think that's a misprint on the HC site. The only place that 2C charge rate is mentioned anywhere is in that data table* the packs themselves don't have that marking anywhere.

Time to contact HC and have them fix that data table, eh?
 Trent 11 points
These charge very well at 2C...I charge 2 at a time *2C. They are still strong after more than 6 months of use.
 scolen3 78 points
Generally, Turnigy batteries can safely be charged at a 2c rate, I do it all the time with no ill effects. It says 2c limit charge rate on the back of the battery.

what is true weight of this battery, my eflite 800mah are 62g, this seems heavy.

Weight is 74g, and I think capacity is a little bit bigger than 800 mAh

How do these compare to the align 850mAh, 30C batteries?
 Rahul 9 points
this has less power. less UUUmph to recover from a falling helicopter(a little), U get what you pay for ( so these will have a shorter life) and you will have keep a close watch on them while charging. The battery works perfectly fine if balanced regularly and not drained too much. I use this company without an issue. except from that.. this will give u a little less flight time.. like a minute less at the max.
ministeve2003  439 points - 8/14/2009

has anyone try'd these on a trex250 for 3d flying... 16t Pinion?
I want to know how they will compair to a TP Propower 30c pack...

I bought a couple to test... too bad HC didn't have any 30c Packs...
SK
 ministeve2003 439 points
Ok, First Test... trex250- superpro kit ds290 tail servo, CF Blades, CF tail blades...

2 thunderpower pro power 30c packs... fairly even... Both had good crisp instant-on power... no complaints plenty of power to slam out of anything... very good quality packs...

2 turnigy 20c 800mah packs...

battery 1 - Slower less crisp less instant power... kinda feels mushy when you do full pitch pumps... slower to react, but still has plenty of power to throw a heli around fairly decent...

battery 2 - WOW
I've ordered 2 more to try out... even if this is a hit and miss on packs, it will be well worth every penny... I will also post how these packs feel after a few more flights...

At the Low Price HK sells these... Get a couple... you won't regret it...
 ministeve2003 439 points
Battery 2 - This pack worked better and gave more crisp instant-on power than the TP Propower batterys... this pack is easily as good as the TP pack...
 ministeve2003 439 points
Update #3 and #4 were as good as battery #2 very good, after around 20+ flights on each, I'd say they're great...

You should set the charger for 3 cell Lipo battery (11.1V) and 800mA (0.8A) charging current (1C charging rate).

I am using this battery on my TREX250 plus 14T pinion. Its size is just nice for T250 and power is OK for hovering and traveling around the yard. If you are not the power absurd, this battery is nice to learn hovering and flying around. However, you need to know how to adjust your pitch and throttle curve to match with battery power. Once you can find sweet spot, it is cheaply fun with this battery and stop asking for the pricey 25-30C from Align.
