Why the same batterie have different max charge rate depending the warehouse it comes???? Are they different????

Just wondering why it says the pack weight is 36 but the other specified weight is 77g??

i dont see 77g anywhere, so may be there was a mistake that has already been corrected.

can i safely sodder a XT60 connector instead of a JST? or do i risk damaging the lipo?
 sirglider 135 points
You can, but only if you are aware of lipo short circuit explosion! Beside of that any connector can be soldered on a lipo battery
 SwimSquirrel 4 points
Replacing connectors is perfectly safe as long as you take the proper precautions: only cut one wire at a time and finish soldering it to the new connector and covering the joint with heatshrink before cutting the other wire or else you risk shorting the battery which could blow it up! Once you're done double check that the polarity of the wires matches the polarity of the connector and you're good to go!
Dennis  1 points - 12/26/2012

Can I use this in the orangeRx T-Six transmitter?
 Spark29 12 points
Yes, i use one of this in my transmitter, and it works great. Plenty of power, just need to recharge it once or twice per month. Besides that, i believe that the transmitter you are talking about already comes with a JST plug, so lucky you :)

Blade 130X Any good for the above Heli?? Cheers JR
 Gary 3001 points
Weight on this one could be an issue as it is slightly heavier, connector would also have to be changed.
 jakobø 71 points
looking at the blade 130x it says that the battery should be 35c and this is only 20c so you might get in trouble, since this battery ant deliver the power as quickly as the heli needs

Hi guys! As a hopeful newcomer to this hobby, I'm wondering what the most basic, cheap charger would be to charge these kind of lipo batteries from a normal wall outlet. Thanks! -Brandon
 Wazza_99 866 points
Try this one Turnigy 2S 3S Balance Charger Direct 110/240v Input. Search for it in the charger zone, it costs $10. If you want better options, try the "just another charger". Bang/buck its better than this one since it can charge more stuff than just lipo alone.

when i charged this battery at 0.5 charge rate, the battery got a small rupture on the side of the battery, is it still safe to use? it is not puffed up. and what went wrong?
 Wazza_99 866 points
You can try to use it, but be very careful with it from now on. Keep it in a safe place (storage) and when charging and discharging, keep an eye on it.

when i took a closer look, the battery itself had no tear in it, just the corner popped out ant the blue casing tore

Better have the fan on it too, remember this Lipo is easy selfburning if its temperature go too high

touchy, the cell inside could have popped, in which case I wouldn't

what does th c rating on these lipos mean? (thanks in advance)
 CHAMP-RC 1051 points
The "c " rating tells you how much current is safe to draw from your battery. It doesnt allow your motor to run faster or anything just allows your setup to draw more amps from it.
BEST ANSWER CREDIT AWARDED
 Ryan 1 points
Indicates how much current you can pull from you battery. The higher the C rating the faster you can discharge the battery without burning it up.
 lauriec 56 points
The C rating is related to the battery capacity as follows:
- this battery, being a 500mAh one, has a C of 500mA. So 20C = 20 x 500mA = 10,000mA or 10 amps. The rating means 10 amps is the largest current you should draw from the battery, otherwise you could damage it or reduce its life.

So if two batteries have the same capacity in mAh, but one is rated at 10C and the other at 20C, it means the 20C one can stand twice as high a discharge rate as the 10C one. Generally you will pay more f
 Tran Nguyen Minh 43 points
Other way, "C" higher means the better battery and more expensive cost

s this battary can power a receiver and 4 servos ?
 Thorax78 231 points
Sure it can...
 kevin 16 points
it sure can but if you're using digital servo's i'd recommend using a BEC with it
 LORIOT 7 points
Biensûre qu'elle peuvent alimenter 4 servos et un moteur en plus ! Elle sont ideales pour les avions en EPP indoor. Puissantes, elle ont de l'autonomie...
 Paul 6 points
Yes it can. I use it in the EasySky micro cessna. I'm using a 4th servo (HS-55) to power the flaps I added. The stock 6A ESC can also easily handle the 4th servo. Thought I was gonna need a separate BEC.

heya! I would like to know if it is safe to charge thos batteries at 1,1A I have a graupner charger, and it's rate is 1,1A for 2 and 3s thanks.
 CQ_helis 48 points
Quite often, smaller capacity batteries can be charged at higher than a 1C rate. HobbyKing states the max charge rate is 2C for this battery, this charger will be charging a 2.2C. I can't say for sure, but I bet you can use this charger. If you do try it, monitor the battery closely the first time you charge it. Any sign of heating or puffing, stop charging. Charging at a higher than 1C rate will shorten the batteries life span though.
 Milind 24 points
Its really not recommended to do this. I have tried the same experiment with my 500mAh, and battery lasted for hardly 3 months. Rest is your wish! :)
 Twimnox 15 points
thanks for your replies! i see i've gotta buy another charger... but i just can't wait another 10 days to try these on my scratchbuild 200g plane! and these turnigy 500mah arrived just today!
 Shura 122 points
Excellent product for excellent price. I am happy to use them
 Bernd 8 points
buy another charger. Load it only with 1 C -> 500 mAh.
 zanek 95 points
I think that you could. Most small batteries can be charged at higher rates than larger. Just keep an eye on the battery during the charge, and if it starts getting a little hot or a little puffy then that means it is being charged to fast

if your planning on getting more than 1 flight every flying day then i sugest one of the quad chargers (4 chargers in 1) yes they cost more, but you can charge 4 batteries at once so it saves you loads of time, you might need a bigger psu tho if you plan on charging 4 6cell lipos at once

So would I be able to charge this battery with the big Turnigy 4x6S Lithium Polymer Battery Pack Charger (PRODUCT ID: TQ4) do the batteries need to be charged at a certain voltage/amperage? what would be the correct settings for this battery, if i were using that turnigy 4x6s? thanks for all the replys.
 edudominguez1 46 points
be possible if you carry that charger, according to load characteristics of Li-xx 1-6 and this battery is Li-xx 2.
Just follow the instructions for uploading to the right that will be the current of the battery capacity or below. to have a long lifespan.

the magazine looks good.

indeed if any of the beam was useful answers will be given 20 cents*)

 steve g 61 points
if your charging them on a quad charger then set each unit for 0.5 amps on a 7.4volt charge, rule of thumb when charging is 1000mah =a 1 amp if your doing a3 cell 1800mah lipo the charge would be 1.8 amps, so 500 mah = 0.5 amps hope that helps

Its good to J3 Airplane Brusshless ?
 Shura 122 points
There are many different J3 planes. What exactly do you mean?
 MARCOAQTEIXEIRA 10 points
PRODUCT ID: HK-J3B
thanks
 Shura 122 points
The battery certainly fits, but the battery has a small capacity and only 2S so the plane will fly less and maybe even not at all able to fly. At the same time it is lighter than the recommended so they can be a problem with centering the aircraft. Better to use the recommended battery 3S 1000 mah
 mariocba 8 points
As the HK-scale J3B is a flight, you better use a 7.4V 1000mAh for you to have greater autonomy.

when will these be back in stock? it says frequently but it hasnt been in for like 2 weeks!
 Lilbanks96 13 points
With the sudden intrest in small 3D foamies these things are hardly ever in stock.
 Spy king 5 points
Any updates? It's been almost a month now that it's been out of stock!
 Black_Beard 6 points
Usually you should check every month and they should be back in stock, but they sell out fast so its best to check often but expect them about every month.
 Crazy Pilot 28 points
I made may card few days ago, and tried to order. Although it was on stock, after having trouble at payment, I had to reorder it, but in few min. it became backorder unfortunately. I was planning to use it in a very small boat.

is this battary can power a receiver and 4 servos ?
 lolo69 206 points
oui cette batterie peut entrainer l'argement 4 servo
 Jernej 23 points
I use it for 1811 brushless, ESC 10A, two 4.4 servos and receiver. With no problem.
 avlisogeid 116 points
of course yes friend, you just have to use 9gr or smaller servos. i have used this battery for a 3d plane with 4 servos(2 for ailer) regards
 DanUSA 3 points
yes with a UBEC!!
 Dunga_CZE 9 points
Yes it can. It depends on your ESC (it's BEC), how many servos it can supply. If you want to use it in a saleplane/glider than it's okay, you don't have to worry about.
 Paul 3 points
Depends on the servos. I should run 4 of them easy. With most recivers, you would have to run a voltage regulator to bring the voltage down a little bit. 8.4V is too high for most RX/servos.
 Foxtrot 28 points
Of course, it can power, and too a motor
 loquito 2 points
what is the name of the battery connector on this battery? is it a MINI TAMIYA PLUG? MALE SIDE?
 Jernej 23 points
it is not mini tamiya (had one round and one square socket), it is JST bush/female.
 Jernej 23 points
I did the test with ubec and four HXT900 servos, HK 6 channel V2 receiver. Works perfectly.
 RikaF3P 11 points
If you use an electric motor and an ESC then yes. If you airplane use a glow/gas engine you'll need a voltage regulator to lower the 7.4v to 4.8v or 6v and so not to burn the servos. Sorry my bad english.
 Black_Beard 6 points
Sure can!
 Crazy Pilot 28 points
It should, if they are small also...
 Shura 122 points
Of course, it can power with BEC. Because you need 4.5-6v. battery can deliver 10 amps without overloading. It more than enough.

Great deal!!!
This is a real 500mAh battery. I tested their capacity in a digital charger after five cycles. I found 477mAh by discharge and 505mAh by charge. The size is correct described (30x55x10) and the weight is 3g less than described (33g). The wires are more than enough 90mm for the HX plug and 80mm for JST plug (balancig plug).
Good choice for small models!!

Perfect battery pack. Made pretty light. They just do what they are meant to do:). Im using this batteries on a 80cm shockflyer and on a "holiday". I can fly about 10 minutes with this battery.

Motor I use is a 19 grams 2204 outrunner that you also can buy here at HC. with a 10A ESC it's a perfect combo:)
