Apparition-II Offshore Brushless RC Twin Hull w/ Twin motor (800mm)
This Twin Hull speed machine includes two 380 motors for the twin copper prop setup. You will require two 70A water cooled ESCs, two 3000mAh 3S 20C lipoly batteries and your own transmitter and receiver to complete this model.
This boat was built for speed and is not recommended for small ponds or inexperienced drivers.
Note: I bought the 70amp SS HK speedies to go with each motor.
OK, so first run out I ran each motor on 2 cells (7.4v lipos) for the steering I use a spare traxxas steering servo from a Emaax since it water proof and an old 1/10th car speedie to power the servo & RX.
First thing I learned - the boat dont turn really well until you punch it and get it plainning :-) thought it very cool. After the run however - the lipo packs got thumped! They were pretty hot as were the motors, speedies not so much. Also found alittle water in the back near the booty for the servo rod - grease rod and add some extra CA to the boot where it meets the hull = no more water at all!
Next run I tried running both 2 cells in series to make 4 cells (4S 14.8v) but with in 5mins the packs got so hot one of the wires got too hot and melted the solder. :/
So checked the water flow system and it was all good, then I pulled out both motors and the drive shafts (Not that hard to work out square end to the prop shaft and collar setup to the motor), there was no grease down the flex drive - only where the square end runs in to the prop bolts. The motors felt a little... well the bearings felt a little hard, so I greased up the flex drives and put them back together and used bearing lube on each end of the motors - then put them back in.
Took it for a test with 2 x 5000mah 40~80c 3 cell lipos - one for each esc and motor (yes 5000mah packs fit fine!) got about 10min run, checked motor temp to be 45c and the lipos * 31c. Everything ran much cooler and better - even a bit faster!! Guessed speed to be about 65kph.
Wouldn't mind trying different props, but nfi what to get :p
Over all I'd say it well worth the cash! Very happy with the hull - all my mates reckon it looks cool. Very easy to steer - altho I have noticed it will turn better one way than another - and you can spin it out so to speak.... just gotta punch it so the back don't go under lol.
I'll be watching temps on the motors and ESC's more - some noted the some speedies or motors burning out - this could be due to not lubing the motors up and greasing the flex drive shafts - so if either fail I'll post back.
I myself have this boat and is a great twin hull!! I did have the same trouble with water coming in but I don't think it is coming through your shafts. check your steering arm rubber boot as that's were the water was coming into my boat I had to put some glue around the rubber boot to seal it onto the back of boat!! after that no water in boat:-) hope this is helps!!
Hi Todd,im running twin leopard 2860-2260kv motors with 120amp swordfish esc's and 4000mah 40c 4cell lipos.Props are 42mm cnc aluminium and im getting 90-100kph.Its a very reliable setup and great fun on choppy water. You will also need 3mm engine to 4mm flex collets.Dont forget to use liquid tape on the esc's to waterproof them.
the boat does not come with any esc's it is just showing how the boat's setup will look like when fitted out with esc's that you must buy individually. As for what comes with the boat you get the 2x brushless motors, rudder, plastic-boot, servo rod, flexi shafts with props and all the connections needed to connect the motors to the shafts (not sure whether they are flexi shafts or straight shafts).
By looking at this boat I can't fit 3674 twin motors on the mounts and maybe the shafts. Does anyone know if they will fit or what I need to make them fit. Thanks
Sk3 36-59 are the biggest motor that I can just fit in the model. With two of those. Two 180a speedies. And 2*5000mah 6s I can do 140km/hr. MOVE BATTERIES TO THE FRONT!!!
No. It means it will turn in one direction easier than the other. Simple fix
Put a turning fin on the dull side.
Complex.
Reverse the polarity of a motor by switching the ground and active (not signal) and use a counter rotation prop. :D
I ' have the model apparition II they found a mode d job for the conextion of the motor can my rudder works but toujour not found means to make motor worked with the lever thank you Sylvain J' ai le modè*le apparition II peut on trouvé* un mode d emploi pour la conextion des moteurs mon gouvernail fonctionne mais toujour pas trouvé* le moyen de faire fonctionné* les moteurs avec la manette merci Sylvain
Does anyone know what size motors will fit in this boat. I believe the stock motors are 28x48mm? can we fit larger diameter inside this hull in the stock location.
Hello guys! i have a few question for you. i want use this boat with*
2xTurnigy marine 120A
2xTurnigy 5000mAH! 4S 40C lipos
2xLeopard LBP3665 2680Kv 3D brushless inrunners
2xOctura x445's(45mm)sharpaned&balanced.
is it possible use this boat with these ESC's and propellers? and are lipos enough for this? and will this boat be fast? :))) thanks for answering..and sorry about my bad english.
Hey, that sounds like a pretty dialled setup you have there. You are fine in the battery department, and those leopard motors have ridiculous power. The 2 esc's you chose would be perfect for this aswell. If you keep with that exact setup, i think you will be hitting 50MPH easily! just make sure the props are counter rotating!
Have fun!
One thing i'd be looking at doing is running two more water intakes. You might find those motors getting a little hot. Run the water intake now just for the esc's then run new ones to just the motors. I'm doing the same setup now so this is how i'm running it. have fun
Hi there I just recieved my boat today and well relised i ordered 4s 400 mAh batteries i'm running a 120 amp marine esc. Does anyone know if i would cook the esc or motors with the 4s. I did not know that the 4s were 14.8v. I thought they were still 11.1volts. Thanks guys
The prop shaft angle can be modified slightly if that's what your referring to. There are screws on the mount that can be used to adjust prop depth or angle.
hi all
just recieved mine today and i am having problems with the drive shaft .i think who ever put mine together must be in training as the stuffing tube is too thick and is holding the drive shaft .enough to stop the motor from turning it can anyone tell me what stuffing tube is used on this boat ?
Hi, the stuffing tubes are packed with thick grease to insure parts are rust free and 'well' lubed. I suggest taking the flex cables out also the prop shafts and clean off the thick factory grease, then replace with some marine quality grease. It is not the cable to big for the teflon/stuffing tube, I just recieved an App-II and had the same issue. Ran my App-II over the weekend on a 3s 5000mah pack. very quick boat, right out of the box!
you will have to replace the flex cable with a reverse wound cable so that it does not 'unwind' then you need a reverse rotarion prop. simple swap any of the 2motor wires or change direction of motor via your esc.
no shaft needed just unplug esc wires to motor dont touch middle esc wire to motor just switch 2 outside wires to each other . but then you need diffrent propellor to rotate diffrent way . straight out the box this boat doesnt need any prop , motor mods
this boat comes with two motors and running hardware only. You will need Radio System (2ch) & Receiver
1 x 3kg standard size servo
3300mah 3S 20C Lipo or greater
ESC: 70A watercooled
to complete this boat
with this boat you can apply a simple 2ch radio, the main thing you would need is a y harness to operate the 2 ESC's. www.link is the link for the y harness.
The APP-II now comes shipped with a Y harness to conect two esc's to the RX. However although not recommended, i run a T180A esc wired to both motors and it handles the amp draw easy. That way you only need 1x esc and dont worry about a Y harness set up.
I ordered this boat 14 days ago as a "backorder".It says "stock usually arrives every 10-25 days", so i guess i just have to wait a little bit longer. Are there anybody that have experienced longer wait than the 10-25 days for the boat to arrive at HK?
i'm on the "waiting list" too... ordered the boat 14 days ago. the note about "10-25" days has just been added maybe 5 days ago. i got told it will arrive within 2-3 weeks (this was a week ago)... i hope it will arrive soon!
After 3 week wait I wrote to HK. This is their reply: "We are restocking this item frequently, and we are expecting the item to be available within 60 days. This does not give me ony confidence to buy more products from HK anymore...
I suggest you wait before purchase for them to be re-stocked, as long waiting periods may arise from backorders. You may as well hold onto your money until they show them in stock on the website.
Hi All, i want to buy, one of this boats, but i am not sure which one i should take, the boat with one prop or the other with two prop?and actually has this boat 2 2881kv motors, or ist this the power of boat of the motors? the boat whit two motors seams to be cooler, i will order one of them and i read that you are talking about octura prop?where can i order it, couldnt find it here , i say thank you for your answers at now
OSE fast electrics has a good prop selection. You want to look for the CNC 3 blade props, and replace one flex shaft with counter rotating cable. this way you can run counter rotating props and the boat will handle better. If the CNC props are too expensive, you can run the 3 blade plastic props from the EKOS. (king of shaves). remember the single motor APP-II is half the problems of running 2x props/flex shafts, motors, esc's. ect.
I'm gonna put 2 Turnigy 4500mAh 4S 30C hardcase, in this boat, I'm wondering about it will burn my 2 Turnigy AquaStar 90A Water Cooled ESC off? or the motors can any 1 please help me?
1 4s would be fine, 2 would be heavier. You can powered both esc's using only 1 4s lipo but need to make a parallel cable for the esc to connect to the lipo
add extra cooling pick up lines, the 1x pick up in the rudder that goes into a Y set up will not be sufficent enough to keep things cooler. try 4S, just take for a short run and check temps with a infra red temp gun. sold at any good hobby shop.
if you are using stock motors you have good chances to burn both. the stock motors are way too small to handle the kv on 4s. change with larger lower kv motors and it will run fine. Esc better to go for min 120amp ESC, the T180 would b the best choice, I use them on mine and it's speeding over 80mph
the K series props from Gruapner, the octura props or even the CNC 3 blade props are a good selection. Turnigy does not make that good a prop, even try the grim racer props.
Good looking and well made hull. Both motors ran backwords, had to change wires around. One esc died before I got it in the water, ordered a new mystery 80 amp on ebay. I took the water cooled heat sink off the old esc and put it on the mystery esc and shrink rapped and siliconed it. My guess is the boat goes about 60 mph on 2 3s 4000mah 25c lipos. lOVE THE BOAT THANKS HK! Greetings from Michigan USA

Got it on my door about a month ago, but haven't had the time to run it before today. Ocean and not fresh water, so it might give the boat some extra knots (have cleaned after running). This is an awesome boat for the money! Most carefully wrapped boat ever! Very well built! Top speed with 2x3s 40C 4000 packs is TOO fast in choppy sea. But manual is not complete! 3000/3S/20C or greater... 4Splus too or only mAh/C?

I've been shopping for HP cat. These compare well with other similar products. Concerns are the electronics, and on the dual motor version, there could be torque roll with single rotation motors. Factory should seriously consider counter rotation. There would be little or no cost to them to provide the boat that way. I have watched many YouTube videos, and conclude these boats are very fast and appear to handle as well as the other brands.

Good build quality, sub par electronics. Mine ran 22mph on two 2S packs and 34mph on two 3S packs. Its a descent boat, but you will need to change the electronics imo. Hull is very stable and of great quality. Paint looks awesome, packing was awesome, manual blows though.
