More than just a fancy name. TURNIGY nano-tech lithium polymer batteries are built with an LiCo nano-technology substrate complex greatly improving power transfer making the oxidation/reduction reaction more efficient, this helps electrons pass more freely from anode to cathode with less internal impedance. In short; less voltage sag and a higher discharge rate than a similar density lithium polymer (non nano-tech) battery. For those that love graphs, it means a straighter, longer curve. For pilots it spells stronger throttle punches and unreal straight-up performance. Excellent news for 3D pilots!
Unfortunately with other big brands; numbers, ratings and graphs can be fudged. Rest assured, TURNIGY nano-techs are the real deal, delivering unparalleled performance!
Suited to the following models: HIROBO SRB Quark SG
* The nano-core technology in lithium ion batteries is the application of nanometer conductive additives. 1) The nanometer conductive additives form ultrastrong electron-conducting networks in the electrodes which can increase electronic conductivity. 2) These additives create a superstrong ability for imbibition in the carrier liquid to supply more ion channels. This improves the ability of ion transmission and ion diffusion. Through improving electronic conductivity and ion transmission, the impedance is reduced and the polarization of high rate discharge decreases greatly. Advantages over traditional Lipo batteries; -Power density reaches 7.5 kw/kg. -Less Voltage sag during high rate discharge, giving more power under load. -Internal impedance can reach as low as 1.2mΩ compared to that of 3mΩ of a standard Lipoly. -Greater thermal control, pack usually doesnt exceed 60degC -Thickness swelling during heavy load doesnt exceed 5%, compared to 15% of a normal Lipoly during heavy load. -Higher capacity during heavy discharge. More than 90% at 100% C rate. -Fast charge capable, up to 15C on some batteries. -Longer Cycle Life, almost double that of standard lipoly technology.
I am using this battery in my 1/10 rock crawler, when i am hard on it the first cell drains much faster than the other 2, i end up at like 2.90-3.30-3.30 when it hits lipo cutoff... would a capacitor bank help even out the load and lessen the stress on the battery? I was thinking of doing a 16v 9900uF cap bank.
You need a larger mA pack. I use that pack in a ~250g multirotor that has 4 1811-2000KV motors and 6A ESCs, which is rarely over 2/3 throttle.
You need more juice man - if you need to stay w/ a small lipo, give the 1000mA 45-90C Nano-Tech a try - 97g and ~$10US - excellent deal.
Also, balance charge as often as you can.
Hope this helps,
Bob
this has happened to a few packs of this type...
I really cant go that large for my application, many other people in my club use other brand, similar sized packs and don't have these issues, these are HK's flagship packs, they should be better quality.
i used the 850mah 45-90c and they do the same, these batts just aren't up to the standards of the other brands, i really wish it weren't true, i love HK, but it is...
Definitely not. You would need a much BIGER one. About 320 times bigger, if you want the cap bank to provide about 10 A of boost for just 2 seconds. That comes down to 16v 3F (that's right - F). It would cost alot (~40 $). And then the capacitors (actually supercapacitors) would weigh down your rock crawler. It is simply impractical. You're better of buying a battery with a higher C rating.
I was using 850mah in my Crawler (XR10 BJ4.2) and it worked fine, and now I'm using 460 and 350mAh batt and the same, work nicely... gonna buy more :-)
Those wires and mini JST seems too thin, for 25-50 Amps, don't they? Anyway, my foamies with BW motor pull <10A, so I would love to get a few of these. When are they arriving?
This battery has a discharge rating of 25C constant meaning it puts can discharge safely 11.5 Amps (25C * 0.46 Amps = 11.5) and 18.4 Amps Burst current (40C *0.46 Amps = 18.4) The wires are the right size for this battery. They are in stock now, so get a few for you foamies if they pull less then 10 amps
I get 7 strong minutes of 3D flight with 30% left after I land. I've heard not so great about Turnigy but the nano-techs seem to be the best I've used. After 100 cycles and now of course they lost their punch but still after 8 months no swelling. I've heard good things about Zippy's but I haven't tried them.
you need to buy imax B6 Genuine because it come with jst female connector (this battery use male jst)
can use accucel 6 and imax fake too but u need to buy separate jst connector ..
are the dimensions accurate?
it seems a bit large based on the capacity and stuff (when compared to my 1000 mah it's not a big difference in size) i already have one ordered, would just like to confirm the dimensions before it gets here.
I have 2 of these batteries. The packs say that the charge rating is 5C. For a .46 mAh battery this is 2.3A. Charging at the max rate is not recommended as it will shorten life. I can confirm these batteries can take a high charge rate. I gave the battery 4.3 C (2A) before I knew anything about charge rates and the batteries did not explode.
So what is the maximum charging rate for these batteries? The 2650 4 cell ones i ordered say right on the battery 8c,but these don't say anything.
If there isn't a table for this,it would be very helpful

Good lipo for use in Multiplex Merlin as "light-weight" version. Try to keep the tail as light as possible (dont use the alu parts), so you can achieve the CG even with this lipo.
Using a 6x3 Graupner folding prop and a Himax C 2212-1180 motor, my merlin has a total weight of 306g and still goes nearly vertical with these cells.
Just will order some more!

Great lipo. Came well balanced - all cells were within 0.05V difference from each other.
Power cable as well as balancer cable come with very soft silicon insulation, just a little long...
Good for small 200g to 400g foamies for a real great price - will just order more!
This is my second nao-tech, sincerly i dont like so much turnigys lipo, but until now its working.

Great lipo, I bought 6 for my leadfeather yak... Sigificant perfomance increase from my tired Rhino 3s 460s.e
Came well balanaced, all cells between 3.80 and 3.85v.
Managed to forget one plugged into the esc, an killed a cell. Converted it to a 2S pack and dissassembled the bad cell. Appears to be two cells in parallel, making this a 3s2p pack. Aluminum anode, copper cathode, poly dielectric, and of course the nano dope. Nicely built packs!

extremely happy drawing 17amps at WOT i rarely fly any less than WOT battery does get really warm but im pushing it to the limit it is also built a lot more sturdy than other lipo batteries of similar size and the best thing is this battery can be charged at 5C thats 2.3amps after battery is used at 17amps battery takes in 430mah and takes 15 minutes to fully charge
