S2030-6002 / 10.5 T is 3200kv... * max amp 24A that's more that enough. Properly a 45amp(9164000009) is better...
But if you want to use the 60amp get the X-Car 8.5 Turn S2030-6001.
Is their binding happening w/ the buggy? Try unmeshing the mtr pinions and check how the rolling friction in each vehicle compares. ESC defaulting* i don't think.
I see HK in the list of compatable mtrs, but not Turnigy. Is this compatable with a Turnigy Trackstar 8.5 sensored motor?
Also, where is the sensor cable? I've looked all over the site and found nothing.
I have just installed one of these with a 17.5 turn Trackstar motor in a Vandal 4x4 buggy . Everything seems to work fine, but the car has no speed . Runs quite slow , like a childrens toy . I the replaced the motor thinking it is just a slow motor, but the Turnigy Xcar 3750kv ( 8.5t) motor I put in runs faster. However I have a similar setup in a SCT Trooper , which is insanely fast on this motor. Is it possible the ESC could have somehow changed itself from the Default settings when I set it up. I have checked the throttle epa is at 100% on the TX , and the did the TX set up as per the instructions. ( Although this took a couple of attempts before all the lights came on as described.)
So what else can I look for in the ESC settings. I have one of those cards for the Turnigy ESC .
Any advice will be welcomed .
Try resetting the neutral, full throttle, reverse/brake points, check your trims on the handset. Check you sensor cable. On some of my speed controls it wont let you use forward/reverse straight away on one of them it beeps a couple of times then beeps again a few seconds later when its ready, but if my trims have changed slightly it wont beep the second time then wont work. Also check the voltage cut off could be your battery is to low. Does seem strange hope you get it running!
Hi guys, I got this ESC and programmed it up, ran a couple of tests with a motor to confirm it works. Plugged it in today, and now there's no output to the motor. I've tried several motors, and the ESC appears to be getting a signal (forward/reverse LEDs light up etc).
What can I do? :(

Can I ask how you programmed this speed control? If you use the usb link have you tried the hobbywing firmware ? does it work? Greg was asking further down the page plus my friend has the speed passion version so want to change his for him. If I see him I will try it and let you all know. thanks .
Hi all, thanks for your replies so far. First of all, the 'beeps' that normally come during startup still show on the on-board LEDs, but there is no sound as nothing is being sent to the connected motors. It's almost like the ESC is receiving the signal but not sending out to the attached motor. I programmed using the recommended card, and this seems to work fine.
I have not tried alternate firmwares as I don't have the USB cable. If it's definitely worth trying, I can purchase the cable.
i have a traxxas rustler witn a ezrun 9t 4300kw motor can i use it with no problems even on 3s?? but what about on a exceed rc buggy 4wd...??? can someone answer me please i really need to buy a good esc...thanks
Does anyone recognize this esc as another brand?
I believe this is a 'speed passion' citrix esc.
I am wondering if the firmware can be upgraded to boost/turbo.
Has anyone tried to connect the USB link programmer to this ESC? I'm wondering if the hobbywing turbo firmware would go in this ESC. It looks very similar to the hobbywing models.
Im running hobbywing firmware on my Hobbyking X-Car 60 amp. The firmware im using has turbo and boost there is a few versions try going through them as one version has a higher turbo timing think it goes up 64 degree where the others are lower. I just downloaded the hobbywing 3.1 USB link software and plugged in my esc and it picked it up so I tried the other firmware for the esc and they worked. I would of thought if the hobbywing software notices your esc the other firmware would work just remember what version it is on when you first plug it in and least if they don't you can flash it back to what was originally on it . Hope this help happy racing!
Marc, Did you put the firmware on this exact ESC? there is another X-car 60A that is yellow and it is a Hobbywing clone. I tried connecting all my hobbywing programmers to this ESC and none of them pick it up. I have the LED, the pro LCD, and the usb link they sell on this site.
No I don't have this exact model, I have the green/ yellow one for $25ish but I have another hobby wing clone (sky rc leopard v2 10th brush less system) which also looks similar to a etronix photon, turnigy track star 1/10th 60A ESC v2. The programming card from that set won't work with my hobby king xcar60A (green/yellow) but the USB plug did. But I read some where that depending what hobby wing firmware is on the ESC means you can't use a programming card or box, have you got the hobby wing 3.1/3.2 USB link software? And tried connecting you ESC to your PC ? You have to have a battery to power your ESC still. I installed the software plugged in my ESC and it recognised it straight away never used any other sofware other than hobby wing software. It is different ESC so maybe it won't work but I would have thought that most of the firmware is very similar and would work .
I tried the hobby handhelds by themselves, then I tried the lcd pro programmer with and with out the computer, and I used the USB link with the computer. I'm now sure this esc doesn't work with hobbywing software.
Maybe try and get the speed passion software Im sure it works with a USB link its strange my friend has citrix but the programming card doesn't work for his he got a gran turrismo card second hand but couldn't find the right one any where it was always out of stock . think USB software is better specially for changing turbo and boost bit of a pain taking your laptop racing with you. I will try and find out if these ESC are similar it also looks similar to the core rc speedo .Let me know how you get on .
can i use this esc and a ZIPPY Flightmax 4000mAh 3S1P 20C and 3650 5.5T (6100Kv) Brushless Motor on a drift car without worrying about burning something?
answer is simply
10.5T on road / 17.5T off road (3s) -> so you will burn ESC
Use 2S batery, its good like 3S (i have this ESC and 8.5T motor and drifts excellently)
Have replaced the 45a X-car with this 60a but still having the same problem. orange blinking light after only a few minutes driving. Have a 11.5 t in a SC10 being driven by a 4 year old(not hard or fast) on the lowest gearing possible.Using my fully charged race packs programmed to 2.8v to eliminate that as a cause. And 20% top end removed on esc through program card. Swapped out motor, removed fan, motor and esc only slightly warm on shut off. even put a glych buster on orange spektrum reciever
probably your sc10 is too heavy (2080g (4.59lbs) for this esc, or you have a problem in the transmission. Check the transmission does not rub in any place.
Please, confirm me that this is the correct programming card for this controller? :

Thanks
mmmh... I've a doubt... the description for this ESC suggest "Programmable with a HKSS programming card" (this one: HKSS-prog), not the HKProg-card.
What I've to buy?
what type of battery connector is used on this esc i was planning on running 2 of my nanotech 3cell 2200mah in parallel instead of buying a 4000mah battery
Can you run this ESC in reverse while the sensor cable is plugged into a sensored motor? With other sensored esc's I've read that you should disconnect the sensor cable if you want to use reverse as the hall sensors get screwed up?
1. yes, but you must use programming card (Hobby King HKSS programming card for HK 150A ESC, fully compactible)
2. yes, sesnsor connect is under battery and moror wires (on other side)
Hi,
I'm going to find my budget esc to run in stock races, but I don't know if this esc have legal stock race mode (without timing and turbo) and how it indicate. Do someone know this ?
I use it with a Novak 8,5T without issues.
Just a warning: if you use the starting strategy 1 (soft start) it is effectively very very soft... I have wasted a race having forgotten the program cad at home!!!!
Just got this and the XK36507900kv to go in my TC4,and it makes a HUGE difference from my old 5700kv setup. Starts are smooth, and temps are low... So far so good, I'll try and update after a few more runs!
Ok, the sensor port is under the abc wires. You also must buy the hkss program card and the sensor wire to go with this.
The caps are on a lead and are mounted on a pcb under the shrink wrap so they have a flat side for easy model mounting. The esc requires initial throttle position procedure otherwise the throttle does not work. Comes very nicely boxed with a very nice printed manual.

Just received mine today. Good ESC, works perfect with Turnigy 3900kv sensored motor. Finally they added reverse function in ESC settings.
WARNING, no sensor cable included, if I knew that I would buy one, but now I have to use sensor cable from my other sensored combo.
