The Alpha Jet was developed jointly by Germany & France in the 1960's primarily for use as a trainer, although armed versions were also built. The Alpha went on to be used by several Airforces, particularly in Europe, this version is in the colours of the Asas De Portugal display team.
This 64mm Alpha Jet is made from tough EPO and requires minimal assembly as the 64mm fan & ESC/UBEC are all pre-fitted as are all servo's. The colour scheme is distinctive and attractive and it will help with orientation and as this model runs a 4s set up, that is just as well, it's quick! Full 4 channel control is great for air-display style routines and with a servo per elevator, this little Alpha is crisp. A nice feature is the servo operated bomb drop which add's to the fun.
Fun, tough, attractive, good size for transportation, easy to assemble, good flyer and fast, there isn't much more you could ask of this fantastic little jet!

I received my plane yesterday, I got 30Amp version so I have to use 3s 2200mAh lipo, I inserted battery so back as I could and still plane is nose heavy.. How should I balance this plane? What should I use to get tail more heavy?
In the manual it says there are 2 versions, 3s and 4s, difference being the ESC (30A or 45A).
I bought mine from the NL Warehouse, should be the same as this one.
ON MY ESC IT SAYS 30A - what's on yours (bottom sticker)
don't think it would survive 4s - at least there is a separate BEC :-)
thx
Mine was only dispatch a few days ago, coming from Hong Kong.
On description, it mention UBEC (I assume it come with sep UBEC). Will update when it arrive.
Finally got my delivery yesterday after picking it up from the parcel force depot. Had to pay a small custom charge but still worth it.
I can confirm what you said about being two model. Mine is the 4s so I assume the ESC is 45A (hard to open the bottom where motor & esc is). There also a separate UBEC (not sure what amp as there no label on it).
The jet look awesome, definitely worth getting. Just can't wait to maiden flight it next weekend.
how do you know yours is the 4s version - because HK says? It's nowhere marked. Did some reseach and it seems it's just some labeling they do, there is no 16A ESC available from Starmax which looks like that (like a 45A ESC). Ran mine up to around 40-45A, did not go up in smoke, so I guess it's just a label (usually justifying a smaller price tag). The UBEC is good because there are lots of servos in the model with nose steering and bomb drop etc., and also in case the ESC does fail you can do a deadstick landing. Good luck with your maiden!
Just bought this jet, does anyone know if there a 10 blade edf fan that can go into this.
Seen a vid where they compare a 5 blade to 10 blade. No diff in power, just the 10 blade sounded much more like a real jet plane.
just stick to the 5 blade. The 10 blade is a power hog which will give you shorter flight times. If you want an upgrade get the allow 64mm edf unit PRODUCT ID: 107000006 and match it with a 50A esc. Smooth sound, great performance and 3 minutes flight with a 2200mah 4s. Enjoy!
Thx sonnydc
Also what the minimum C rate battery for this jet as I like to get a few spares to enjoy a longer time at the field. But obviously want as cheap as possible for battery. Would this battery be enough..? PRODUCT ID: ZC.2700.4S.25
the zippy compact 2200mah 4s 25c is just right or the zippy 2200mah 40c. The 2700mah which is 137mm long would be great if you can fit it in the compartment and get a proper balance (cog).
I am confused.the description says that this is a 4 chanel jet it dose not supercity if it has a rudder but I can see hinges on the verticle stabs.dose it have a rudder
Tanner Yes it says in listing ""A nice feature is the servo operated bomb drop which adds to the fun."" So buy and have some fun. Very cool. i hope this helps
Salih NO NO NO in the listing is says "Requires:
Your Own 5~6 Channel TX/RX 2200mAh 4s Lipoly Battery"" So you need Battery, Battery Charger, Radio Gear (receiver and transimtter). I hope this helps.
Thanks 450ppt, I have art-tech alpha, it's been a great 1st EDF trainer, nothing like solid EPO foam that took eight crashes so smoothly. Art tech no longer sales spares frequently if at all. Switching to FMS Alpha when it's totaled if HK or SOMEBODY stocks spares.
I just got plane. I am hooking up receiver to the wire and there are 6 plugs. 1-4 are normal servos, number 5 is bomb drop, but what is number 6? Is it a UBEC to provide power for all the servos?
Randyy63 it is the Ubec. The bec is not built in the ESC. This bird has 7 servos also. So you can connect it to any spare servo or batt plug on receiver. I hope this helps.
It stinks that they sell a model and dont stock spares, thats where the LOCAL hobby shop will never lose they would just open a spare kit, supply the customer and fulfill their oblegations......
sorry for you, on mine fortunately do not happen. My suggestion: try to do it from balsa sheet 4-5 MM.I believe is better than nothing. dimensions should be around 150mm span each. take dimensions of root chord on the fuselage.
stretch81 the only way to get this done is to place a request in ISSUE tab above or go to: Contacts then: Support then: raise a Ticket. I hope this helps.
Anybody know how to set up the ESC in this, think the timing is off. Bound the plane (orange 6 ch), all controls working fine. go to s***l the fan, couple of cogs, so I power down right away, not before some ESC smoking. I was using 4 cells. All controls still operate might save her.
I have also and it flies very well. not for beginners.3s is not sufficent in my opinion. I fly it with 4s 40c 2,2A and 4s 35 1,8A. they are just sufficient power is enough but nothing tremedous. I believe that you could also have trouble with cog with 3s because with 4s it goes es it is required so one cell less could require ballast on the nose.
Katrina I think C of G problems will be the least of you trouble. the listing says ""2200mAh 4s Lipoly Battery"" Power wise there is a fair difference. So I hope you get a new battery or use 2 x 7.4v. I hope this helps. PS: The listed power tends to be the bare requirements.
With a 2200mah this will fly for about 4 mins.
I'd go for a higher mah, and remove some of the foam if you want a longer flight time. I had to do it on my F4 Phantom.
You have missed it because now it is not free and this plane is good condition , watch the videos about it, investigate more on HK has good planes good luck...
no labels on the motor so I can not tell you. mine is flying well with 4 cells so I believe is not less than 3k. you do not believe 3,6 is enough for a les than 70 fan?? how much it weights?
having trouble with esc. The cut of of motor does not work. if you maintain full trottle the battery goes down until battery is empty and you loss power to rx. somebody knows how to program esc cut-off? tanks
I received last week. not fied still. package is good and content as described. all seems ok. glue was missing, no big deal. finishing takes 3-4 hours in total. lot of servos and all cables in. I reiforced wings with 6 mm cfk tube. used epoxy (good???)I understand there are several different model like this. this one is two separate wings with slot on fuselage. there are others with one piece wings. hope this help. I let you know when I fly (wheather...)
flied! it is very good with std equipment and 4s 40 c nano bat. no bomb no pods. fly is similar to g45 but a bit or two faster. no problem for landing also gear are enough.
very stable. use very reduced commands for familiarization. very good prduct for the money
Better use hot melt glue and a additional spar on the wings.
At least 5 planes, including mine, were lost due to wings separating on flight.

BUILD NOTES
The shipping container was is great shape and the model well packed in the box. All the servos are well attached to the structure. My first mod is to add a carry-through spar structure. The have been several reports of wings coming off this model and I am determined that it will not come off mine. The design of the wing is interesting. There is a tubular spar in both wings but nothing connecting the wings together except the tabs that insert into the fuselage; the structure that the wings insert into is less than impressive. So I added a 1.4mm x 4.5mm carbon strip spar through the fuselage. It is 300mm long and comes close to the built in tubular spar at both ends when inserted 40mm forward of the aft edge of the wing slot (or 85mm aft of the forward edge of the wing slot ;) ). I simply sharpened one end to make it easier to insert it in the wing with the glue of your choice (I like the white Gorilla glue). Pictures are in the file section. The remaining build was very easy and all parts fit well.
CG
I placed the CG as per the manual which is about 110mm aft of some part of the back edge of the canopy. It’s hard to tell in the small picture. I placed my battery as far back as possible and the model flew great.
FLIGHT TEST
The 64mm EDF unit seems well balanced and produces good power. My first flight went without a hitch with maximum control surf

1 thumbs up!
This plane is gorgeous! I received her yesterday and maidened today. :-)
Very easy to assemble: no more than 2 hours. No glue included so I used 15min epoxy for wings and tail surfaces and UHU-por for the rest.
Plenty of space to move the battery back and forht to ensure a proper CG. But the strap installed is too big and cannot secure the battery.
The CG is ok as per manual. Is difficult to identify but if you take as reference the "dog teeth" on the wings, the CG is in line with them.
I used 2200 mAh 4s batteries: nano-tech and normal Turnigy, 35C and 40C. In average I got 3min of flying time with them.
The plane is quite fast, very stable, the manouvers are relaxed, the roll rate is ok, not very fast but straight.
I flew with and without wind and no issues here.
The EDF is well balanced and powerful enough for some vertical climbing.
Landing is a horse of another colour. The sink rate is high, so you need to keep some power (~25pcnt) until she touches the ground before killing the motor.
The weak point is the odd LG placement and securing method. On my second landing, the plastic attachment was un-glued. The LG wire is quite weak and flimsy. Consider changing it. I used rubber bands to link both legs together. Later I will put a fishing line to ensure the LG is not wobbling.
It even includes an external UBEC (Bravo HK!) to manage so many servo
first flight went well, very good airplane, everything is ok!

Like it?
very good, just landing gear not so robust after 4 good laning on grass plasic is coming out... nothing hard. I will glue again and connect with a rubber to keep them a bit toghether.
flying is perfect and stable. in corners need a lot of elevator.
speed is good and stall not so tremendous.
glued almost with epoxy (no prob on mine...) wings reinforced with 6mm carbon from wing to wing about 7 cm inside each one.
At least intermediate pilot skill required.
