Designed especially for FPV (First Person View) camera flight!
This is a true FPV plane thats easy to build and comes packed with common sense FPV must-haves such as rear mounted servos for the elevator and rudder to help counter balance the additional radio gear, rear servos can also be moved up and down the tails Carbon Fiber shaft to adjust CG. The narrow fuselage helps glide rates for longer flight times and yet it still has a large area for and aft of the CG to move the battery for better balancing when using heavy camera/Tx gear.
Rear mounted 10inch pusher-prop diameter motor-mount keeps motor and esc away from the camera to reduce noise.
EPP foam makes the plane very resistant to crashes and rough landings. The EPP-FPV glider has a twin CF-Spar 1.8m wingspan for higher, longer flight times with a wide range of camera equipment.
The HobbyKing EPP-FPV has 4 channels (Ail, Rud, Elev, Thr) for agile performance and is reinforced with 2 CF spars on the main wing, a CF tail boom and CF elevator spar plus the ailerons have flat CF rods for stifness during fast turns or dives. The mian wing can be removed easily for transport.
The HobbyKing EPP-FPV can take any number of batteries however we recomend a 2600~4500mAh 3S pack for long flight times and good CG balance.
Very good & stable in CALM STILL air. Forget it in anything greater than all but a few gusty knots of breeze. The fuselage is akin to a great big slab sided block that weathercocks the ship making tracking a cross wind an absolute chore due to the totally stupid designed rudder, I mean seriously wa anyone in design bureau even thinking of that. Add to that the horizontal stab' weak plywood formers that attach it to the CF tail boom which tear apart on your 1st landing & suffice to say, Its one of my LEAST admired Hobby King ships.
A few suggestions, I fitted an undercarrage and mixed rudder with alerons. I agree the taill is very easy to damage when landing. A V tail would help. It now flies like a Piper Cub ad i enjoy flying it for something a bit different, 20 KMH winds are no problem.
Hi Ralf . you getting one of this Mate After you seen the wings In flight . sure The whole thing can be modifyed Well to suite .
Being one Issue I found ,and Its taken 2 of them for me to work it out , But the Tail surface needs to Be inline with the Motor More . As the sintrole surface relyes on direct flow of good Air to Best handle . As the best idear i have was to change this around .Make it more in line . with change to the aspect angle through out the wing to tail . Whole area to change angle with Mounting tail On angle . and Aso Wing remount to make a level tail to Motor line up . ,Its so Hard to explain , so i will show you , How Modification Makes this Purfect Plane for FPV , thanks .
hey guys new to Rc planes and FPV setups. i am looking at getting this plane, and wanting someone to give me some advice on good quality servos, and all the other radio gear needed & FPV to get this baby up and running.
this is a great plane to fly its what i learnt on, you can either use the hxt900 or HobbyKing 929MG Metal Gear Servo these are slightly bigger than the hxt900 but a little better. head to rcgroups and have a read there i cut the rudder and elevator servo into the back of it instead of puttin them in the harness they supply.
Many Custom changes Make this Great with the modifications Needed for a Great FPV plane , I use 3548 with 5s and 11x6 prop ,and the 2600mah Battery , This cobo alone is one very good, and to in to the wing _
>CUT FLAPS > into the Wing going out to about 3o cm out each side , Is Very Very Good for this Wing . In both that Now I have this Change Made .. And The Lift Is what this weighty wing Needs ,Beacause now Of the flap Added I get very slow flights . and Lift ..And with the wing I can use it in Many different Planes . As to connect Just the wing , To the fiberglass virsion , Is Unreal combo..**
The size of the girl makes it look realy big but with a 6 foot wide by 12 inch deep tapering to 10 inch near the tips wing it should be a nice floater especialy if you can keep the weight down. I chose this over the glass one because it's bigger. Now all I've got to do is get my finger out and finish it:)
I just bought one. Looks awesome. Also ordered the FPV gear to go with it. I lost some bits and pieces in the field the otherday and I'm hoping to find it.

hi ,i use a good servo park size metal gear. and a 3548 motor mounted on alloy plate/ uss 5s / and
Now /i use this for its wings I use on many other planes. to the mane fuselage i will cut and rebuild shape. Using 2 of this Main section to tail / duel rods coming from under wing . Making a new Tail inline with the motor / ,, as needed. fully needs More stability.. the wing Is good

hey guys,
im learning to fly and i did have a cessna 182 but was having lots of trouble with it, after meeting up with some guys they told me it was a hard plane to fly. lucky i brought this epp fpv along cos they broke it in for me, after they trimmed it out i started to fly it as a beginner plane, its awesome a bit slow to react but you have to expect this from a plane like this.
i had a 9x4.5 slow flyer prop on it, it wasnt a bad prop but it just didnt have enough power with my 1400kv motor, i had a spare 10x5.5 sports prop i put that on and its like a rocket awesome for launching it to high. only issue was one hand launch it hit the ground and nicked the tail boom and it broke, i fixed it all is well but i would suggest a 9x5 sports prop.
any how awesome plane for learning to fly and to learn to fly fpv in good luck guys :)

This is a great kit, comes in a heavy cardboard box. Kit is of good quality. Instructions are a little vague but with common sense it can be worked out. Just as a tip, you may want to consider fitting your servos for the tail surfaces in the actual tail to avoid having un-necessary loose wires and small light bits of fiberglass poking out on the tail boom. To enable faster and more efficient flight i would recommend covering the wings and body with a smooth strong tape, this will greatly improve the flight characteristics. Just as a note, the magnets that hold on the canopy are not good enough to fly with, i would recomend adding some more. Otherwise well worth every cent.
Brilliant Aircraft. Reasonable finish for epp. nice paint job!

Great model for intended use. 12 flights to date; 2200 Turnigy pack; OS Motor; 9-5 Prop. Good duration - max 45 Min achieved. Based on other reviews I installed servos in tail and mounted using rubber bands - has paid off already; rubber bands used on hatch esp. when camera fitted; small amount of flap is good in low wind conditions. Mods I applied are:1. Glued balsa trailing edge to flaps - greatly improves sharpness of TE; 2. shortened the tail ply mounts which tail effectiveness and reduces drag; 3. c.g. in instructions is too far forward - I recommend 70mm from LE to start and up to 90 mm is OK.

BROKEN HEARTED. After reading reports and watching video's the EPP FPV I receive is a Dud. Aileron hinges cut to deep and are splitting. The wing support at the top of the fuselage has one side higher than the other making the wing 3 deg. off square. Motor mount is set with thrust line to high making the model climb like crazy when you open the throttle. Are we the purchaser expected to fix these problems each time we buy from HK or am I to fussy.s
