Im using this motor on a combat wing with a 2S battery but its to weak for it...puls 3.5Amps with a 5x5prop....I tried this on a 3S battery and its much better, plling 5.5Amps...Do you think it will burn the motor if i keep like this? If i use a bigger prop like 7x4 on 3S it stays hot like hell, pulls more than 6amps and i think its to heavy prop for it...
 Stelios 87 points
I am using it with 3s and 5x3 prop on my mini skywalker. It's fine.I will try an 8x4 for my homemade ft flyer.

I have got this motor for a Mini Skywalker. Other components are HobbyKing 12A BlueSeries Brushless ESC (Tz12A), GWS EP Propelle 5.0x3.0(GWS-DD-5030) and four 3.7g servos, Zippy Flightmax 800mAh 2s/20C Lipo. The motor worked well (at least it looked like) if prop was not attached. As soon as the prop is attached (via supplied prop adapter or prop saver), the motor did not work. It looked like too much weight was on the motor. It turned for a second and stopped and then repeated it for a few times. It came to a full stop after a few times turning like that. I am not sure what was worng. The ESC is set to default settings. Any help is appreciated.

One of the wires to the motor disconected. Reconnected it to the motor with a small section of wire and it worked perfectly. Thanks to cmanley_nl from RCGroups.

Hi Paul, The setup works well. I did a ground test with full throttle all the time for about 10 minutes before maiden. The ESC got just a little bit worm. The airplane flys slowly and is perfect for beginner. You can check out youtube.com/bmsweb for a similar setup and a maiden fly with the airplane.

will this be ok for an 8x6 prop ?
 Kellyann 16221 points
Mar11 it does rec 7x3 to 8x4.3 so a 8x6 will be fine as long as you do not push it too much. I hope this helps!
 modellermark 4 points
Brushless motors will try and turn what ever you put on them - so if you put an 8x6 i=on it it will do its best to turn it as fast as it can. So keep you battery as a low capacity, your speed controller as a hig capacity and hope that the sum total doesn't overload the motor itself.
Just keep it steady and don't use full power for too long too often. Hope this helps

will this be good for the teck sumo ?
 Vespizzari 37 points
I'm not familiar with the Teck Sumo, but I used this motor as a replacement in my HK mini cub. I'm getting around 400g of thrust with an 8x4E prop, 10 amp ESC and 460 nanotech. The motor survived a pretty good digger when I failed to pay attention to my pack voltage, so I would give them high marks for durability as well.

I am having trouble mounting GWS DD-8040 propeller on the motor. Can anyone help me?
Do I need some kind of plastic adapter ring?
 Ruslan 58 points
the original rubberband isn't strong enough. use one from a shop for motorbikes. its called o-ring. nice regards

Hello,
i want to make a shocky with a weight about 150 to 200g. I have already the Turnigy 2211 2300kv motor and e.g. I take a 8x6 prop. Have this motor enough power to fly 3D with my plane?

Thank you!!!
 Roy_T 134 points
Yes, but the motor will heat up. The C10 motor is a better choice.

8 thumbs up!
Turnigy delivers again !!!

This litttle brushless motor is very powerful. Used as a direct drive tail motor for a 6-channel CP heli and it works flawlessly. Plenty of tail authority and stays cool to the touch after running.

Would continue to recommend and buy.

I bought two of these. One of them was bad right out of the box. It had a broken wire inside, so I rewound the motor. The motor worked, but was too weak for what I needed it for. The other motor was ok, and I'm using it on a 5 oz indoor foamy I designed. It works great. I've got a couple more of them coming, it'll be interesting to see what they're like. When they work, they're a good little motor. I can't judge a whole lot based on one motor. We'll see after the other ones arrive.
