The best way to prevent corrosion problems in any machinery - including full sized boats and indeed model boats - in salt water is to fit a 'sacrificial anode' made of zinc. Saves an awful lot of problems.
Have a check on Google for model boat anodes.

I use the salt away with a very large syringe fitted with the correct size tube.I then follow up with WD40 then a light squirt with the air blower.I've been running in salt water for a year or so.But do it straight after use DON'T EVER put them away without doing it!!!!

BE sure you flush it, electronics do not last long in a salt water environment

Beroys,
Hi the cooling system is not really your main worry. When running in salt the residue can get into all parts of the boat .....rudder hinges, main motor bearings, circut boards in the receiver and the ESC. It is ok to run them in salt as long as you are aware and clean and maintain the crat after each run. A word of caution , if you don't run the boat for a while double check the receiver and ESC and make sure that there is no corrosion buildup before you plug in your battery. Lift them out of the boat and check underneath, the reason I say this is the power can short and at worst cause a fire.
But enough of all the bad stuff I run mine in salt at times and have a blast. So good luck.

Just use your garden hose.Turn it on slow you only need a trickle of water , place the end over the water outlet in the side of the boat . This will back flush the cooling system.DO NOT use too much pressure or you may blow the hoses off inside the boat.

it will be fine, just wash the boat down with "Salt away" a wash that disolves salt, I also flush it through the cooling system of my boats
