The best way to prevent corrosion problems in any machinery - including full sized boats and indeed model boats - in salt water is to fit a 'sacrificial anode' made of zinc. Saves an awful lot of problems.
Have a check on Google for model boat anodes.

like trevpez posted..u must flush with warm fresh water immediately after use....i oil everything that can rust and keep an eye on the drive shaft , make sure you give it a good clean when its out for greesing
