Hi all,
Just got a GWS Corsair with the EPS-350 power system and a 9.6v NiMH. Now I'm new to foam, & electric for that matter, but it seems to me this thing is gutless! I want more power! If I point a plane up, I think it should go that way. So I'm wondering if anybody has carnal knowledge of this girl and how to improve her. I'm thinking 1300 3s Lipo for starters and a new ESC of course but I'm really asking for advise concerning the gear drive. Lose it and go outrunner or use a brushless motor with the stock setup. Any and all help & suggestions are appreciated ![]() |

Hi Lectric_high How about this one : http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=2112&Product_Name=TR_28-30B_14A_1050Kv_Brushless_Outrunner with a 8x6 or a 9x5 GWS HD on3cell would work nice. and this one will make you able to mount the motor on the stick: http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=6782&Product_Name=Stick_mount_10mm_stick_/_3g_weight You will need a ESC for about 25 - 30Amp. |

Thanks Doc,
We're thinking on the same lines. Sounds like you've had luck with this combo? Craig |

Hi Craig
I have this bird and I love how she flies. Mine is budget set-up for sure but flies great. You can see how it flies here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XkWfJudwSyU I have this motor http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=664&Product_Name=TowerPro_Brushless_Outrunner_2410-08T_890kv A 10x5 prop from Hobbyking which I balanced. I run these batteries http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=6424 No speed demon but flies great. You have to remove some foam and put a piece of ply in for battery tray. EDIT: Add movie link. Edited by W3FJW Ron - 28/May/2009 at 4:17am |

Hey mate,
Looks good! Not trying for speed so much as the ability to get out of it's own way! I mean now I pull up and 3 feet later I'm in a stall and 20 feet straight down at full throttle I have enough speed to pull out. If I wanted to learn to fly flat I'd build a B-52! I really like the sound yours put out. So authentic! |

Thanks to you both!
I tried both setups and found the Tower Pro 2410-08T to be on 3S Lipo & 8X3.8 very well suited. The Turnigy 28-30B on a 3S & 9X5 was HOT! You need to feather the throttle up to keep from torquing her over on acceleration. Turnigy on a 2S Lipo and it was much better. Had to move the mounting stick to the bottom hole as the stock gearbox used the top one, no biggy. Battery compartment modification needed as well. No more stalls! ![]() Thanks all, Craig |

I like this mounts:http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=5307
http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=5135 too bad the motor DrEvil pointed out is not in stock: http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=2112 It is very good. I find that other TH motors suggested are crap for only one reason, seems like the shaft is made from butter, you touch the grass and it bends. From what left in stock: This one is fantastic: http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=2105&Product_Name=KD_A22-15M_Brushless_Outrunner_Motor (can't replace shaft) Not bad, no shaft problems as you use prop adapter like the DrEvil one): http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=7873&Product_Name=TGY_AerodriveXp_SK_Series_28-26_1350Kv_/_260W |
