Mark here.
Thought I would start a post on the new HobbyKing 4WD Big Monster 1/5th Scale Truck (ARR). As some have guesed it is Rovans release of the fairly popular FG 4WD MT. I am in the process of doing the usual complete pull down and re-assemble. Note, other than one front shock being a bit sticky I havn't found any problems at all. Day 1. Strip shocks, and do some painting. I havn't finished the body yet but it is getting there. Blended metalic purple at the back to Gunmetal at the front with purple bonnet stripes. More to come Mark Edited by Chrissy47 - 06/Aug/2011 at 4:58pm |

Thanks Troels. I tell you, this being my first 1/5th it was a bigber job than I was expecting. LOL $75 bucks worth of Pollycarb paint and sticker sheets!!!!! This is exactly why I suggested to Anthony that HK do some general car sticker sheets. I think they would sell.
I am loving this thing and I havn't even fired it up yet. LOL. Mark |

Sure a common stick sheet with all brands of Motor oils, intake filter, oil filters, Suspension manufactures and so on.
And another sheet with the names of the difrent Tuner parts companies. A flame job sheet A Lightning sheet A Stripe sheet and Race number sheets too -grab a few more pictures Mark, that one does not do your paint job justice, and post them here |

Trumpy!
Does anybody know how to cancel a bid on e-Bay? I put in a bid for a “Cowboy Outfit” and it seems I’m only six minutes away from owning the Australian Labor Government ! |

Thanks Trumpy. I actually let my son go mad with the sticker sheet after posting. It's probably a bit over the top now, but he is stoked. He even put a piece of the prismatic sticker sheet as a sunshade/sponsor banner across the top of the windscreen and filled it with small sponsor stickers. Good thing with the stickers on the outside is they can be taken off.
I simply couldn't resist the temptation when they came out in the Aus Warehouse. Chrissy has been saving pennies for the Baja and finally bit the bullet. I'm mainly doing asthetics at the moment as the mechanicals seem fine. I'm scotchbrite wheeling the side frames and going to buff them. I figure It may a s well look flash..... at least to start with. Mark Edited by Chrissy47 - 06/Aug/2011 at 9:44pm |

Another couple of shots post my sons efforts. He thought it would be cool to show his HK Monster beetle for scale. Yes it fits in the tray!
By the way the Beetle is running a couple of motor heatsinks and a fan on the ESC so it now runs fine on 3S. He gets about 10 minutes on a 1000 3S and it all fits with no major mods. Still not the best pics but it's late and dark.. LOL Mark |
