New Quad copter where to start ?

Hi,

Im Erik and im kind of new to the whole models and remote controlling.

I've build a quad copter with the list supplied bij help with the hobbyking personal see :

Because the radio they sugested was sold out i have borrowed the radio + receiver from my cousin.

I've set up all the parts together.
Ive flashed the bord with a KK firmware, wired all the escs to the motors drilled out the motors because they didnt fit.(the metal holes.)

i've looked up the ports of the receiver with my cousin and we connected the apropiate wires to the bords apropiate ports.

We had one moter running yesterday because sudenly it worked and then nothing worked any more.

When i power up the bord the red light blinks once then it turns off (i think it has to stay on not certain.)
And the esc beeps 1234 Beep beep beep   Beep.   this is when the radio is on and off.

I think there is a connection between the radio and the receiver because when i turn on the radio the light on the receiver blinks once and goes on.

I understand i have to take some steps still before i can put the propellers on but im kind of lost on where to go now and what to do.
Is there some one who can help me out into the general direction where to go.

If i connect the esc in one of the port of the receiver.
They kind of work they beep and some times i get them to spin up(but in reverse of the remote control.)

- check the pins if the right servoleads go the right pins of the board.
The pins are correct i checked those.


How do i check/do the following :

- put the esc's of the motors directly in the throttle port of the receiver and calibrate the endpoints of the ecs's. They are the same but have small differences in settings. Also check the softstart,number of lipo's, battery check and so on. They should be all the same.

- check left and right yaw, since you have to arm/disarm the board by taking the throttle down and put input left or right to arm/disarm the board/motors.
- is the throttle up really up?

Im in diemen near amsterdam.

I tryed arming the board with the throttle but i think i had the mixing switches on and had to lower the trim.

I read the manual of the controller here:

and switched every thing to default.

I have gotten 3 mothers to spin up 1 is not working, it wants to spin but its shiffering. so ill check wires tomorrow i think. (was broken wire :D)

the others don't spin up all at the same time to i think that because of the esc not being configured or am i wrong ? some takea long time i have to put the throtle all the way up.

Arming the board i have to put it to the left in deed, but disarming is to the right.

Erik - why don't you research the Quadcopter section of this forum which, surprisingly, is dedicated to quadcopter setup problems like yours?

The questions you are asking have been asked and dealt with there many times.

If you get a copy of the KK Quadcopter manual (not the HK Manual which is only fit to hang on the back of the dunny door)and follow it step by step from beginning to end you will have a machine that will actually fly.

Im thinking about making some how to when i have time for all the newbies like because its quiet hard to find exact information about every thing.
