Well the prototype is a success, Tao from hypergear turbos has built a successful electric supercharger. It was done as a bit of fun as the car actually made 350rwkw not long after on e85 fuel and one of his custom turbo chargers.
This car picked up 15-20rwkw on my dyno running on turnigy lipos... Video soon. Bit different but you get a quick glimpse of what i get to play at my business/ day job / second hobby :P

Its never gonna match the turbo and mechanical superchargers we do but i reckon on a smaller engine we could double the boost easy. |

Yes if a blade comes off it goes into the inlet manifold. not good. If I had the cash i would try driving a modern twin screw positive displacement s/c with a big elec motor. the reason is the pd blowers would work at around 15,000 rpm on my 5lt V8. but for a turbo u would need around 55,000 rpm for the same boost on my 5lt V8 so go with the pd blower for best results, ps i would drive it from an aditional 12v battery |
