Somebody can tell me how we can put the pilot figure into a T28 trojan? We know the canopy is glued on EPO body and we do not have an acces inside the canopy. Can you give me a tip to do that without brocking my brand new plane

Why dont you go from underneath cut a square out of the cockpit floor and stick a pilot to it and then push it back in place
I'm as happy as a very happy sandboy.

What pilot size did you use? I am waiting for my 1100 mm durafly T-28 and I was hoping to get the pilot size before it arrives.
Thanks,
FlyBye

I used this one:

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__22783__Model_JET_Pilot_L77xW35xH76_1_6_Green_.html

It's a perfect size fit, and I uploaded some pictures of it on the product page under the files tab.

Like Snappy said: Take an Xacto knife and cut the square of the (frontcockpit only, not the whole thing!) out.
1. Stick the knifeblade through, and watch from the top through the clear plastic that when cutting you follow the vertical walls of the canopy, leaving the instrument panel (DUH!) and the seatback neatly in place.
2. Put the bottom of the pilot against the bottom of the canopy, (so he is upside down..) you'll notice that you will have to cut a litle arc on both sides of the canopywalls so you can stick him through. (Mark if needed and go a little at the time)
3.Cut a little slice(!) of the lower half of the seatback and he will be in a perfect position. (Look up images on Google or airliners.net of REAL T-28s so you can see the correct position for yourself.
Stick the man through, bottom of canopy lines up with bottom of pilot
4. Secure him with some hotglue on the back and sides. (oxigen mask sticks out a lttle below the canopy, just leave it like that for the most "natural" look)
Don't bother to fill the rest of the hole, as it is almost invisible anyway.

Done, enjoy!

Hi MartinT,

Thanks for taking the time to share that with me. Well done!

Also did you have issues with centre of gravity finding it tail heavy? Any issue with the retracts?

Looking forward to your reply,
Fly Bye 2

Hi Fly Bye 2,
You're welcome!
Mine is not tailheavy at all, in fact I have to move the battery (2200) so far aft that the velcro strip barely holds it by the end. So I installed another battery strap to secure it better.
The thing flies really beautiful, Durafly (HK) got it absolutely right!!!!

But do get yourself a metal trunnion for the (now plastic one) on the nosegear (at PWRC.com) or buy a spare gear with a metal one in it from HK (don't have the exact part# on hand, but there is an extensive topic about it on RCGroups (here: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1558757 )
It's quite large, nearly 50 pages, but everybody is crazy positive about it!

Found the gear part in my order history!:

Good luck!!!

Thanks MartinT,

I will order the metal trunion. I ordered a set of landing gear and two pilots (not certain if two will fit, but there are two seats). Should be here in about 2 -3 weeks, so I will let you know how the maiden flight goes.

Hi MartinT,

T-28 arrived and I installed two pilots as per your advise, they look great! Just before my maiden, is the manual correct in centre of gravity being 72 mm aft of leading edge at fuselage, or is it actually 67mm? What measurement did you use? When I used 72mm; nose heavy, 67 mm it balances with battery aft as possible.

Looking forward to your reply,
Fly Bye 2
