I won't say i have had the luck(1 out of two bad) that you have had.it can be a short in the motor as well as a bad joint.a bell motor is easy to rewind. i got a $6 TP 2410 that smoked less than 30 sec. into a test run no prop,no mount.Have rewound many and mod some with $8 bearing and high speed bal.inrunners are a real Bxxx.cost for gigs gets high fast.
As for as your OP,you have to factor this in total cost product + ship +
ship to retun if bad.when this still adds up to 60~75% of cost at other shops??hope you get a good one next and your out just the $8 to return it.Also up frount on this it can take some time.Dont know how all of it works but 1~2 months can go by.

Thanks for that; funny how some other people can get their "knickers" out of sorts; kind of funny; but, I hav resigned myself to wait for the motor to be replaced sometime, and just move on.

And all this started because I was angry about having to pay to send this damn motor to China (wrong instructions). Anyway, happy flying and off we go!!

I purchased 10 servo's, installed four all of which blew within minuets of installation. I repacked the remaining six servo's, got a returns number and returned. I got a reply to say that 3 of the six returned servo's had been used! I hadn't even opened the boxes. I will be taking this bunch of cowboys to court over this, disgraceful way to treat customers.

I wonder how many local hobby shops refund travelling costs when you have to bring something back because it was faulty?
I don't care what it says on the profile - I'm so NOT GB!

Did you not have to return all 10!
PS you are not supposed to connect them to directly to the mains

I'm a bit curious how anyone found out a servo didn't work if they never took it out of the box. Now that would be a worthwhile trick to learn

The only one I hear bitching is the fonze, he seams to take it personal. HK always treats me with respect even if we don't agreee on something, unlike the fonze.

I try not yo "bite" when someone like the "FONZE" gets like that; one of the other comments about taking parts back to the Hobby Shop; I think that is a bit different than shipping parts back to "CHINA" as in the original post. My contact at Hobbyking was fine, no complaints there at all (except for the shipping error). Package has been shipped, and this is going onto the back burner and I will see what happens.

Oh, and I am no longer angry.
