when i hook up the gyro the steering jerks back and forth very rapid [ jitters back and forth] thanks in advance for your reply GOD bless daryle

Check that you are not driving an analog servo using the digital servo setting.
 DARYLE 2 points
it is set at 5.5 now all i get is flashing blue led and no stearing response ? about reasdy to give up on it!
 Grezoo 4 points
Set the sensitivity (gain) if you're going fast with sensitivity must if you are more slowly because of the rudder. I ö*sszemixeltem the gas sensitivity of the gyro it. but also to a certain type of orange used HK's gyro. Unfortunately, this problem will always be. the aircraft is faltter if you do not set the sensitivity ....

How do you install the drift car gyro on a rustler vxl hooked it up and the blue light came on but couldn't steer the car it would just sit there and now the blue light will not come on anymore
 Nancie 61 points
had the same problem with another gyro. it turns out to have malfunction and cant fix it. dont know how to fix it.
 Nicholas 37 points
Leave the transmitter turned off, or alternatively try disconnecting the input signal wire temporarily at the servo plug (unhook and slide from shell). On gyro powerup the blue light should flash rapidly indicating no pwm detected. If this also does not happen your unit is probably dead. If it does, then hope remains..

I pug this is in to my traxxas slash vxl and it will not power on....Any help?
 ROSLI 1 points
you need to use remote 3 channel and the yellow wire plug to 3 channel on reciever and swicth on 3rd channel transmiter
 ROSLI 1 points
you need to use remote 3 channel and the yellow wire plug to 3 channel on reciever and swicth on 3rd channel transmiter
 Nicholas 37 points
You do not need to use the yellow wire on an extra channel. This just gives remote control over the gain setting. With the yellow wire disconnected the gain control trimpot on the unit itself becomes active. Shawn, the blue light only comes on after a few seconds of the unit standing still. If you had it in your hand when you powered up it probably would not light up at all.

DOOES THIS ALSO WORK ON DIRT TRACKS ON MY RUSTLER VXL
 FPV-Nut 149 points
It should, all it does is try to keep car going strait and keeps it from spinning out.
 crazycarmaniac 186 points
seems like i need it for my over powered rc car. it has a habit for going nought to 160 kmh within 2 seconds most of the time spinning out. check my vid i made it do top speed
yadhieshuzhan  1 points - 1/18/2013

My i use 2S Lipo for this Part?
 FPV-Nut 149 points
This gyro is for 4.2-7 volts,a 2S lipo is 8.4 volts at full charge it might work but you will burn it after awhile. Its meant to be plugged into the receiver and the receiver powers it.

Hi! After reading the docs, i don't understand how to connect the 3rd channel to control the the gain. Only 1 wire to control gain? and which pin on HK3100's 3rd channel receiver? thanks.
 E-MOTION snc 55 points
Just connect the gyro wire in your direction RX channel and the direction servo wire in the slot of the gyro :)
Rickard  26 points - 12/13/2012

i found just don't move it after you turn it on until the light changes color showing you its ready!
pepengzki  1 points - 12/13/2012

To all you guys out there who bought this item and found it hard to connect to a traxxas erevo vxl and the likes, well i have the solution. Simply power up the receiver first then after 2 seconds turn on the transmitter and there you have it. The blue LED should turn on. Regarding the third channel, you dont need it just do your adjustments manually.......
 john 6 points
Just wondering which receiver you are using as well as servo? I have a tqi receiver with a 2080 servo and still struggle to get it to work.
 pepengzki 1 points
I have just the same, tqi receiver and 2080 servo. better to try your gyro in another car to see if it is working.
tommy2toes  2160 points - 12/12/2012

could you use to make a motorcycle man lean and keep center of gravity while cornering?
 crazycarmaniac 186 points
generally most rc bikes stand up on their own unless they dont have a gryo in the rear wheel
valiantGLX  25 points - 12/8/2012

Also do you need a 3rd channel, or can it simply be manually adjusted if you only have a 2ch car?
 Mar11 2113 points
this will not need an extra channel it will plug in place of your steering servo wire and the servo wire eill plug in it !
i have this
enjoy

Will this ever be in stock again? Arrrrgggghhhhh I have been waiting forever :( Does the drift setting really make a difference? Would a normal heli gyro do the same thing?
 Mar11 2113 points
i have this for more than a year now.. its really good..the drift setting is effective ..i used it in my tamiya tt01e its great ...than i got bored of it soo i put it in my Bixler lol..works fine as a stabilizer..1 axis thou..

can anyone help me with locating a gyro for my delta wing f 16, I have heard they help heaps but have not found one on hobbyking.
 RattleSnake 392 points
Any Gyro will work, although you will need to
install an external delta/vtail mixer and run these
in between the RX and Mixer, 1 for elevator and 1 for aleron.

ok im considering buying this for the HobbyKing EDF Hoverjet (Plug and Hover) http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/%5F%

im using the suggested Hobby King GT-2 2.4Ghz 2Ch Tx & Rx the comments ive read suggests i need 3 channels for this thing to work although the transmitter is two channels the receiver is 3 channels will it work or do i need to upgrade my controller?
 RattleSnake 392 points
I assume you want it on Your steering?

If so you dont NEED a 3rd channel, the 3rd ch is only used for turning it on/off/ up/down.

you could just set it up and adjust it manually when needed.

Hello, I got this gyro installed on my traxxas rustler xvl but I cant get it to work. I wired it corectly following the telebee manual. But the gyro seems to be dead. The only time its blue light is blinkig is when I turn the ESC on and leave the transmitter off. Any suggestions? Tnx!

do you have a 3channel receiver? it will only wonrk if the yelow wire is conecter at the signal form the 3 channel, thats to adjust the gain.

hello. please help me, where should I connect the gain? traxxas rustler vxl have one. I await help. thanks
 Rickard 26 points
in gain by you mean power source? you just plug this into the receiver and the servo end would plug into this !! if that's what your inquiring
 Cesium Candy 946 points
*nandorbrasil ** See the purple file tab above. I uploaded a manual you can look over. That should answer all of your questions.
gammelman  47 points - 5/9/2011

so this can work as a stabilizer as well for straight lines or is it just for drifting
 Rickard 26 points
you could if you wanted to just adjust the sensitivity and by doing that it would over steer when trying to drift

Good day I have this installed in my HPI rs4 Evo3 Nitro car,I didn`t have this much difficulty as some here are explaining, anyway I have read the manual and followed the direction very closely and found the car had to be stable at turn on and wait for the led to light up, took a while for me, it sets the gyro at 0 is the best way to put it ,move the steering left to right max, then set the ATV. adjust the drift gain to where it works best while in motion, you can also lift the car make sure the receiver and transmitter is on and trun the car left and right making sure it is counter steering properly and not away from the direction the car is turning as far as testing, if you have a multimeter test in and out servo prongs, corresponding the -, ,signal to see if there a circuit. that's all I can pretty much say, hope it helps, Is the box mounted flat or on its side?
 Rickard 26 points
Good day, the only servo I used and tested are just a standard metal gear servo, the only reason there would be a jitter or shaky is usually a wiring/signal interference, How bad is the jitter? do you have jitter with both tx and rx on, and did you try a multimeter across the pins to see if there is any shorts in the box
Alemao  12 points - 4/14/2011

It is not working on a traxxas ken block fiesta. Does not light up the led. If I reverse the connector on the receiver, the led blinks all the time but no steering. Did anyone used it on a traxxas? is it compatible?
 stardemos 32 points
it depends of your reciever! do you have a 3channel reciever? it will only wonrk if the yelow wire is conecter at the signal form the 3 channel, thats to adjust the gain.
 Alemao 12 points
The receiver is 4 channel. The transmitter is 2 channel only. Would that work? Will try it again and see if it works. At first I was leaving the gain plug disconnected and was hopeing to adjust gain on the gain bot.
 stardemos 32 points
The reciever had to have ate least 3 ch, one of them to control the giro gain.

Can be use in plane?
 95ROLR 13 points
Similar to a head-lock gyro. Works well in cars/trucks, however with all the other options available for gyro's, i'd stick with a plane specific model. This gyro however is very similar in style/appearance to other gyro's in the store.
 Grezoo 4 points
Buy orange RX V2!!! Great 3 axis gyro to plane!! :-)

Hi i've installed this gyro on my tamiya 1/10 drift car. please can any one tell me what side of the gyro should i put down, and what side should be in the font ? thanks
 adr14n 16 points
the servo conectors should be looking to wards the front, and the sticker should be looking to the lefthand side of the car
 95ROLR 13 points
The "front" (white side with dials/trims) should be facing to one side or the other (left or right) of the vehicle, not facing forward. I use these in my Traxxas Rally's and have them facing either direction. If you face it one way it will work fine on normal setting. If you face it the other direction, simply flip the reverse switch on the side and the gyro will work well the other way. Depending on where you're mounting the gyro, you can face it looking "outside", or "inside".

BOUGHT BY MISTAKE TO PUT IN A HELICOPTER (HK-450), will it work? WHAT problems might occur?
 Pike99 18 points
It is not supposed to be used on a heli - although it is gyro device it workes totally different, I think You will more likely crash with it installed.
 95ROLR 13 points
Similar to a head lock gyro, you should be fine. I'd test it with the chopper in your hand first to try and simulate the chopper maneuvering in the air. You can ensure the gyro is doing it's "thing" properly by watching how the servos adapt to the movement.
Brett  233 points - 5/16/2010

whats the difference between the Car gyro & the Heli one?

I put the Heli version of this gyro in a car and it worked fine hooked up to the steering servo to auto-correct fishtailing in the loose stuff. The only time it failed was when it ran out of steering lock, which is too be expected.
 Dale.E 205 points
most heli gyros need a channel to adjust trim. if you only have a 2ch radio they kind of suck in a car. also head lock is not usefull in a car, you want Rate only. so HL is a waste, although there are cheaper HL heli gyros so if you have a 3ch radio in your car the HK401B would be a better alternitive.
 Dale.E 205 points
cant edit :) sorry I said trim, ment gain.
 Alexander 16 points
also if a heli gyro is used in a car, when u reverse they tend tomake the car turn around in the opposite direction
 jojji22 21 points
Guys, any one knows why it doesn't work with Traxxas 5CH 2.4 Receiver?
Thanks
 Dale.E 205 points
Hi jojji22, you should put this request at the top of this list or better yet in the forums.
this is an old discussion list and few will see this where it is.

5 thumbs up!
I ordered this to my friends LRP Shark Monster Truck.
We tested it on snow/ice with Turnigy airplane gyro and it runs like on rails! No more spinning around at full throttle.

Used the Gyro for about 25 cycles now. It works well for about 1/2 the battery pack, then looses control. Will work on more tweaking.

Works perfectly. Used in a 1/16 sportwerks on road car. Makes it slide round corners perfectly, just full lock the way u want to go for less than a second and release the steering, the gyro does the rest.

You must be careful to set it up properly so it isn't trying to steer past full lock otherwise you'll bust your servos. I did at first with a cheap one but since I haven't had a single problem.
