Hello guys, i need a little bit help, i have a himoto HI5101BL
on road car, i want to put more powerfull engine, is it possible to put that engine that car
his i have a maverick strada tc evo s...will this fit straight on? and will the standard battery be okay to run this motor...the battery is 7.2v 3000mah nimh....please help me!
no brushed has 2 wires and uses dc power while brushless uses 3 wires and ac power. ditch that old brushed setup u have and join the party with brushless. insane amount of torque
I'm having the same problem with my both systems. On Forward Brake mode work flawlessly...but once changed to Reverse mode once from neutral in Tx, when try to accelerate they both hace a lag (0,5-1sec) and then start to push.
I'm running sensored.
Hello! What is "the correct" gearing and slipper clutch adjustment and whitch batteries do you recommand for this motor system? (I'd like to upgrade a 1/10 HSP Truggy)
(Please, I 'd prefer an answer in french if possible)
Thanks
Yes it fits fine and runs like a charm, my friend has one in his and that buggy with the correct gearing and slipper clutch adjustment is super fun to drive with awesome handling.
Available mid-June? Give me a break, HK! http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/images/em_c ry.gif That's 9 months away! Can't you get it in stock sooner? Else I will need to purchase elsewhere. Otherwise this looks like an awesome setup... but not in stock for 9 months!?! Surely you can get it in stock before then! If so I will buy it... but I won't wait 9 months. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/images/em_r olleyes.gif
I got one of the combos too, its crazy power with 3s. Gets hot but doesn't need to stop after 3 lipopacks. And I'm Brazil, temp here are 25-30°C most of the time.
Can anyone tell me what battery I recommended for this setup. I is going into a 1/10 touring car. I am blinking 3 cell 5000 mah but am not sure on the c rating.
Any help would be much appreciated.
In my opinion you can run it also on 2S... it depends on how fast you want to go :-)
I'm using mine on an 1/10 off-road monster truck with 7.2V NiMh and it is not so bad!
Agreed I run it in a ruckus with the timing on 2 and initial acceleration on 1 and im running 75mph, with your ride you'll be able to handle more speed you might be pushing a hundred or better!
my rc car does 180 kmh before esc blew due to temp sensor being faulty from start. not the esc listed here though. check my vid had it geard for low speed in it. didnt want to top speed cos it flips easily. my car is a 1/10
Hi you can put what you need on it, i cant remember what mine came with but it is very very easy to change just be careful not to trim your wires too short as replacing them from the speedo is hard as the soldered connection is amazingly robust.
I want to put this into a Axial SCX10 trail truck would this be too much system for the truck or can the program card slow it down to rock crawling speeds but still have the the power for acceleration
I dont know if you can but if you get the fly sky 2.4 gt3b or hobby king 2.4 gt35 (same transmiter) you can adjust your end points on each chanel, i do it with my traxxas stampede all the time so little kids can drive it!
You can adjust the throttle limit up to 90pcnt and i guess you wouldn't want to go any slower than that. Acceleration can also be adjusted with the supplied programming card, overall a very good system. Runnig it in a HPI Blitz
This would be waaaay too much for a crawler. You can slow it down with the program card a little but not much. Also that 4000kv motor will not have the torque that you need regardless of programming. I would not go any higher than a 2000kv motor for rock crawling and that may be a little high, but you'll still have some speed with a 2000kv.
I bought that system and have installed in HBX quakewave buggy 1/10. Check it out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CaUqM-h-l14&feature=p layer_embedded http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/images/em_t humb.gif
i have received the order in very well condition, installed it right away and it works fantastic!! It's a well build product nice sealings en thick wires. Well done hobbyking
i used this on my tt01e for a whole season. the limit was the tires.. they woulds spin and make the car slide all over at anything more than half throttle. this motor is overkill for a tt01.
Can the turbo function (punch) be set? how about timing value? As some of my frd are using xerun 10.5t with 120a esc turbo function...is this combo have the same feature?
is this system a good upgrade for the 1/10 short course truck sold here on hobbyking? I just want some more power and torque and higher top speed. Thanks
I am using this combo in my 1/10 TT-01D (Drift spec touring car, I know its fairly different to a short course but figured my experience might help). This combo alone is a MASSIVE improvement on the stock motor and ESC (Brushed 23T/ESC combo). I'm running a 2C Lipo and I get 4WD wheel spin on tarmac with soft rubber race tires. I don't have any way of accurately measuring my top speed but I would estimate somewhere around 50-60 KM/H (on drift gearing which is for torque more than top speed). Hop
Heaps more power and yes it spins the wheels.I've played around with my set up so it handles better. Put your shocks on the top hole of your tower front and rear, then put the ball stud on the outside hole of the lower suspension arm front and rear. This will give you a slightly lower stance so it dosn't want to take off at high speed. Then mount your control arm on the rear from under to over on the outside, this will give you better straight line control, but make sure you adjust your toe in so the wheels are straight. When you've done that the rear wheels should turn inwards a bit when you push down on the suspension. Finally adjust your camber so all 4 wheels tilt in at the top a bit, slightly more on the rear. This will give you excelent grip offroad.Pop a 3s in there for fun now and then and you'll have a smile from ear to ear but make sure you have pleanty of room around you.Don't run 3s too long motor gets hot quick. With standard gears you should be hitting around 80k's on 2s 100 on 3s
awesome, i'm sold. now if only i could get rid of wheels doing figure 8's (i dont know how to explain it better), it seems that the wheel axles are very loose in the bearings in the knuckle
The wires come with the speed controller but you will need to solder them to the motor and battery yourself. Shouldn't take you long if you have soldered before. Cheers, Brent
sounds like your rims are buckled get some after market wheels like i did.Fixed the problem straight away.I use 1/8 Team Louise.depends where you are im in western aus and got them from my local hobby shop for $30 a pair.Thats rims tyres and foam.
no its not the case, because i can tilt the wheels by hand in any direction, i tightened the nut hard so they are solid on the axis but the axis itself, which holds the wheel, is very loose in whatever it is held with (i think its the bearing or the housing that holds the bearing or maybe the thing that holds the housing of the bearing). Sorry for my bad english i'm from russia
Buy some new bearings for the axles.Get TEFLON SEALED STAINLESS STEEL they are cheap on ebay. The size for the inside is 10x15x4 and the outside is 6x12x4.Replace all of them. Also take your diffs out and put grease in them aswell.Running this setup will kill them otherwise.I have replaced front centre and rear diffs because they come with very little grease in them. it wore them out smooth.Hope this helps you.
Can i use this set of combo for my LMH Corona 120 heli? It's stock used CC Fusion 35 esc and Fusion brushed motor(540 size) previously, now i'm looking for a BL combo to upgrade, just in case if not suitable still can drop it in my 1/10 car.
I have a big problem. The settings of my ESC cannot be reset or changed with the programing card (although the ESC works fine), I used a different programing card and it made no difference. So i took it to my hobby shop and he told me the esc has locked thows settings and nothing can be done. Does anybody know what a can do??
Did u try it with signal cable in and in the slot that has signal cable indicated? I believe its the right slot on the card.all i understood from the manual is that u have to take the signal cable out but for me it only worked with the cable in,i use the lipo batterie not a loose batt case for programming .
it's a great combo, i dont have it but i know people who have it and everyone told me that its a great combo and i'm gonna buy it because has a great value for money. its a great choice. it dont get many temperature and has survived a lot of accidents and time, they still going like the first day. sorry for my english.

2 thumbs up!
I finally got mine and installed into my hyper 10sc, all I can say is wow!! I'm running with 42/13 gearing and a 5000 3s lipo, it does wheelies on the pavement which is unreal. It is an all sealed motor rather than the vented one in the pic, the fan is wired to the bec so it doesn't matter what battery voltage is used. I 've only done a couple quick speed runs with it but it didn't appear to be getting too hot. Turnigy heatsink/fan is in the mail

The specs say:
"Suitable Car: 1/8, 1/10, 1/12 on and off road."
Here is a question. Why put a 41amp motor with a 100amp ESC?
A 1/8 scale care is going to burn at atleast 60-80 amps EASY. Especially off-road like it says it can handle. Off road to me means monster truck like an E-MAXX or E-REVO or am I wrong?
Neither here nor there I bought one of these and stuck it in my 1/10 scale E-MAXX. This truck was setup with the lowest gear ratio possible and it was still pulling 65 amps! For comparison, a similar brushless motor for the brushless version of this car is designed for 120amps cont. (MAMBA MONSTER).
My point it that please Hobby King if you are going to get into car motors and parts please do not try to say a motor will work in a car that it doesn't. To charge $99.99 for this kit is a joke!
You can buy the hobby king performance 150a esc and a 6cell 60amp motor for the same price! (Which puts out 150 more power by the way and wont fry)
This kit should be used for ONLY 1/16 Scale cars and reduced in price to say $59.99 or put a better motor with it. Users be warned. My friends Brushless 1/16 scale e-revo uses an esc that pulls 50 amps. so this 41 amp setup would be decent but still not enough.

Running this in a 1/10th SCT and so far so good, very easy to set up with the program card. Brakes are good, motor has loads of torque and doesnt get too hot. Would recomend for SCT's and it would be awsome in a 1/10th buggy.

I am incredibly impressed with this combo. I put in a TL01 chassis with 1 to 8.7 gear ratio. With truck tires (diameter of 130mm) it was too fast to control and to be honest I don't think I managed to get it up to top speed. With this setup the motor also got really hot really quickly.
I changed to buggy tires (diameter of 86mm) and the setup is mind blowing. The top speed is in the region of 80 km/h. Motor temperature is around 70C after a whole lot of long fast runs. Everything about this combo is so good. The ESC remains cool and the fan runs all the time which I like, rather too cool than too hot, right!
Programming is very easy with the program card.
I have only used 2 cell lipo's (3600MAh Turnigy) and at this stage I don't think I'll even try 3 cells. I have run the setup about 4 hours in total.
5 stars because I think the price is unbeatable and so far everything has worked perfectly with not a single problem. All the power you'll need and more. Great product HK.
