anyone has the datasheet of this motor(HK2836)?
jetz03  29 points - 1/22/2013

what kind of battery should i use with this motor 3s, 4s or 5s?
 Gary 2995 points
Use a 4s only with this motor.
 jetz03 29 points
thanks for the reply sir, but what if i use 2 of these motors? do i still use 11.1 v or 22.2 v?
 Gary 2995 points
No,you still only use a 4s(14.8v)but use a higher mah battery so that you get a reasonable run time.

What's the difference between this motor and the 3800kv one (HK2836 EDF Outrunner 3800kv for 64mm)?
 Guido 8 points
they are both the same size and weight. difference is the max RPM, i.e. the kV rating. I have not noticed a big difference in performance in a 64mm EDF. using 4S is dodgy, you have been warned *-)

Hi guys, can this motor be use on a 70mm 5 or 6 bladed EDF fan? Thanks in advance.

I am looking for a motor for my T-45 Goshawk R / C 64mm EDF Jet EPO Kit, this engine is a good option? What engine should I use? A 40 amp ESC is enough? I hope your help, thank you.
 Guido 8 points
If you use a 3S battery, this motor is fine. 4S is a no go! Be warned! I bought the 3800kV and the 3500kV, both disintegrated on 4S with a 64mm EDF. A 40A ESC is good for a 5 blade 64mm fan unit and using 3S. That orange bit at the back is aluminium, so the motor is a bit on the heavy side.

will this run on a 3s lipo as much as 4s? thank you

please i need a shaft connector with that fan: www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?id

which i use?i will credit:)
 Little_Fox 16 points
www.link shaft will work for the 7 blade EDF fan. I have bought this shaft and that impeller and they both fit on each other and will work on this 3500kv edf engine. Cheer, William
 Little_Fox 16 points
sorry about the blocked link. Search "107-7B-3" in the search bar on the left, you will get 2 different options, choose the 3mm shaft and that's what I'm talking about. Hope i helped :)

i want to use it on my T-45 is it a good choice.please answer i will credit :P
 flatspin 263 points
This is a good quality, but 'heavy' motor compared with the Turnigy 2815 EDF motor and it would need to be run on a 4S LiPo. If you are talking about the GlobalFly T-45 (formerly Sapac T-45) you need a very powerful setup otherwise it will be quite slow.

It is written up that the motor runs on a 4 cell batt,if i use a 3 cell batt am i going to damage the motor?or the motor will simply not run?
 Bongose 80 points
anything lower than 4S will work. And thats the same for every motor....

Will this work a 69mm EDF or will it get overloaded? I have this sitting around and want to use it on a Habu airframe I bought for $99.

I suggest measure with a wattimeter tunigy!! it'll help a lot!! to choose the right prop ESC and Battery fot this motor.

Not on 4s LiPo. It should work on 3s. I expect 6N would be the result.

Anyone run this motor on 3s/2200?, I need 700grm thrust min. but weight restriction eliminates 4s. 64mm fan/7 blade Thanks for any info Rod
 Bongose 80 points
I know a 4S gives me 800g thrust on standard 64mm 5 blade HK fan. But i doubt that you are going to get 700g out on 3S. You have to have more KV for that. maybe this one is a better option but it is on backorder... Turnigy 2815 EDF Outrunner 4800kv for 55/64mm regards Jan

i won´t this motor for my kyosho t-33 with a 40a esc is this compatible??? sorry for my bad english...
 Bongose 80 points
My motor running a 4S 20C turnigy pack draws 34A (490Watt) so 40A ESC is OK. It fits a HK64mm ok 70mm nicely!!! This is a good motor, good sound, good quality, good balance. regards

Is this the stock motor in the Hobby Lobby SU-34?
 __bare 713 points
Impressed by the Colour? It's also 97 grams
 Bongose 80 points
I did put them in the HK F14 on the stock 60mm fans. It crashed due to stall in the turn so way underpowered!!!

1 thumbs up!
15mm BHC 2.5mm tapped holes. Once made an adapter to fit in stryker it worked amazing!!! I used an 80 amp esc and only flew short bursts at full power. Melted the motor flying for a minute wide open on a 4.75x4.75 prop on 4s. Short runs work well 120mph!!!!

Motor looks different but preforms the same as the freewing 3500kv motor. combines with their fan unit provides around 850 grams of thrust at about 35-36 amps.
nice smooth running unit

A quick test on 4S 20C turnigy battery with HK64mm fan gave me 490Watt @ 34A and turnigy 60A plush ESC on low timing. A non precision thrust reading in the scale gave me 820g static thrust. So far so good.
