Hello guys !
I have a problem when witn this controller I connect there no light and my reiciver FUTABA is not powered LED more!
is that the controller is dead?
Thanks for answer
No good!! I have purchased four of these in the last month 5/2013. (Three 45A and one 30A). Three of these shorted and fried immediately, one good and working fine. Don't buy.
Was it the 45A, or the 30A and 2 45A. What motors are they on? Mine works fine, but doesn't like smaller motors. It does, however work fine on a Funfighter motor. When say they shorted and fried, did you mean they smoked? I am just trying to get some details, so I can help you, and determine the cause of the problem.
It was two brand new 45A burned in a row . First one in my stock Bixler2 on a 3s 2200 battery, next one just bench testing in my stock Nitro Dynam Waco with a 4S 2200 battery. Third one was the 30A midair in my stock Flyzone Tidewater on a 3S 2200 battery. In each case the planes were seriously scorched and damaged before I could yank the connectors. Turnigy has a serious QC problem on these AE type ESC's. Why must I buy four of these to get one good one!? Ridiculous, DON'T BUY these.
got 2 of the AE-45A* the first i used only once for
seconds on ~40A - still alive (but not the plane ..)
and used for some function testings ..
the second burned flying a f9f with a 2830-4000kv/5-blade 64mm EDF which takes static 44A. Was not completely dead but offers only 50% power and BEC was still working so the plane can land normal. One chip on two of the tree lines are
burned. Using a AE-30 without problems - but the 30A ESC is running on only 22A static - so i think it will be ok when you use the AE-45A like a 35A ESC (but for this they should lable it with AE-35A ...)
Anybody knows what timing i should use with the Bixler2 Motor: 2620-1300kv Brushless Outrunner? I used the default timing but is experiencing power glitches. I tried lowering the timing but to no avail. my Bixler's nose and wings has almost disintegrated because of what happened and I'm afraid before i figure this out i won't be able to fly the bixler because it's already shred into pieces. Am i looking at the right way or is it the TX/RX that i am using. Turnigy 9X 9Ch Transmitter w/ Module & 8ch Receiver (Mode 2) (v2 Firmware). desperate for help. thanks in advance.
I have noticed with this ESC that it will glitch on a lower current motor. The timing is automatic, so what you need to do is to use a lower current ESC, like the 30A Bluseries (I have had good luck with those). DO NOT FLY UNTIL THE PROBLEM IS FIXED. You will destroy your model needlessly.
thanks for the reply EffinA. i will try your recommendation and see if it works for me. do you think adding an RX battery will be able to help? how do you classify the lower current motor from the higher current ones? thanks!
Thanks for the credit! I looked at the specs of the Bixler 2, and a 30A ESC should be perfect. I was thinking about using one of these for FPV, but I have a better plan (actually plans). I have a set of RC plane plans from 1964, and except for electric, she will be all antique like with a slikspan wing, and I am even transferring a 9xr into an old steel RC TX case!
Hmmm. No response to the control surfaces means there is no power to the RX. No lights on the receiver? If so, check the connector on the receiver to the ESC, I would think it is on backwards. Generally, even if the ESC doesn't arm, the control surfaces will still work, because the BEC is constant.
Just received Turngy ae-45a SBEC 5-6v/4a.
All it does is beep once /s. I reversed the RX plug with no change. Also, changed the motor
wires with no results.
My other ESC's are plug and play.
Suggestions?
THANKS
It should power Rx regardless of which port you plug it in but only throttle port will work motor with throttle stick. Make sure you don't plug in the wrong way, reversing Gnd and Signal. This ESC comes with ve in the middle which is the same with Spektrum Rx. Can't speak for 9X Rx.
I ask again, where does the receiver lead in this ESC plug into a 9X receiver ? Batt connections or Throttle or is this not compatible with the Turnigy receiver.
Bought it here in HK a while ago. Now I'm trying to work it on but i had no success.
It's energized by a Turnigy 4000 mAh, 4 cells LiPo battery and plugged to a TWM KM0374810 motor.
I use a Spektrum AR6200 receiver and plugged the ESC to the Throttle slot. Also tried the Battery slot but it didn't even light the RX led!
Any suggestions? :-(
Check to see if you plugged it in backwards. If you did, it will not come on, otherwise, you may have a bad BEC. Use a multitester to see if there is 4-6VDC from the plug to the TX, if not it is a bad BEC, if so, something is not correctly hooked up.
Where does the receiver lead plug into, the throttle channel or the batt channel, if into the throttle does this provide the sbec power to the reciver ?
The fact that this ESC can be programmed using the Turnigy Speed Controller Programming Card (idProduct=7187) increase the usability significant. Not only stupid stick-programming
as stated in the description.
I,m sorry same question as below but had to switch batteries cuz out of stock. Now rhino 2250mah 25c, HK450, turnigy 3500kv motor, ESC from above, but i need a compatable ubec or sbec, thanks.
since the trust esc's out of stock i,m getting this, but does anyone have any recommendations for ubec or sbec to go with this esc in my HK450, 3500kv motor, 2200mah 25c battery?? Some advice would be greatly appreciated.
Para mim particularmente este e um dos melhores esc devido ser muito forte e uma boa lenta no inicio explendido, tambem gostei do esc HK-yep 45a ou 60 sao otimos tambem com a lenta.
Don't matter - it seems to be portuguese *-)
he only saying that this is a nice esc with smooth throttle response and he is also thrilled about the 45, 60amps yep esc.
use the Turnigy Speed Controller Programming Card (idProduct=7187) and you don't have to do this silly stick-action .... i have tried it with my v2.0 card - it works perfect ....
how fast its MCU real refresh rate? is it over 450Hz ?? any potential for this esc to be reflash wit better/new firmware,to achieve faster refresh rate?? tqvm for answer...
actually is this esc have linear or switching type bec??? what kind of MCU Chip does it uses?? ATMEL or SILab or else??? im planning to use this for multicopter..
using this ESC Stock settings with a proven 2500 11.1 Lipo on a Turnigy sk3 helidrive(450size) all on a HK450. Normal flight mode is set up at -2 and 12 pitch. I get a good hover for less than 2 minutes and the motor lags (sounds like too much pitch) I will set it down and head speed comes up and it will hover for a few seconds then will repeat the issues. I switched the ESC with an older one and it flies rock solid with awesome 3d performance. Any info would be of great help. Thanks....

2 thumbs up!
Great Esc using it on my Eflite Showflite 4D. Crisp throttle management, perfectly capable for 3D flight.
Btw. Just bought another one for my Extra 260 from P.A.

1 thumbs up!
The description clams the AE45A is programmed with Turnigy BESC program card. It doesn't work. What does work is the HobbyWing Program Card. It show the 12 settings with each value, reference the AE45A docs, set and hit OK. It done. Re-power everything and verify.

I have one of these in my Polaris XL with a 400 watt motor and a 3S 2650 batt; Excellent! Very smooth throttle and good clean power to the receiver and servos. Running a heat sink since it's inside seaplane with no airflow, still no overheating.
I'm buying another right now for another seaplane.
Work perfectly. I put a lot of stress on it and it never gave up. (I push it by error over 90Amps for 5 secondes, wrong setup on test bench)I noticed my error after, the ESC was hot, but not burning hot. Still working fine. The BEC drive 2x HS-65MG and 2x HS-82MG without problem (analog servos).

Montato sul mio hk-450 che piano piano lo sto portando a tutto metallo e carbonio!
va semplicemente una bomba! giri perfetti, 0 problemi con il bec(anche se uno sempre un condensatore quando uso il bec)
super soft start eccezionale!
straconsigliato
