I purchased this ESC to replace a lower amp ESC. When the old ESC is reinstalled every thing works. I reversed the RX plug with no change.
David  17 points - 5/15/2013

I reversed the throttle with the same results. Also, no response on the control surfaces. All i get 1 beep/s.
 EffinA 1299 points
Hmmm. No response to the control surfaces means there is no power to the RX. No lights on the receiver? If so, check the connector on the receiver to the ESC, I would think it is on backwards. Generally, even if the ESC doesn't arm, the control surfaces will still work, because the BEC is constant.
David  17 points - 5/13/2013

Just received Turngy ae-45a SBEC 5-6v/4a. All it does is beep once /s. I reversed the RX plug with no change. Also, changed the motor wires with no results. My other ESC's are plug and play. Suggestions? THANKS
 EffinA 1299 points
I think you need to reverse the throttle on your TX, that ought to get you going.
Rainis  2 points - 5/10/2013

I think you can use Turnigy programming card for this .
Khoa  6 points - 5/4/2013

Anyone know which programming card works with this ESC? Listening to beeps is making me lose my mind.
FoamFloater  5 points - 4/29/2013

Picture shows SBEC 3A Spec says LINEAR 3A Sale lost.
simon  6 points - 3/11/2013

STILL NO ANSWER !!! Will youtube or goole the answer, methinks this doesnt have sbec as per advertised !
 DoubleCH 6 points
It should power Rx regardless of which port you plug it in but only throttle port will work motor with throttle stick. Make sure you don't plug in the wrong way, reversing Gnd and Signal. This ESC comes with ve in the middle which is the same with Spektrum Rx. Can't speak for 9X Rx.
simon  6 points - 3/10/2013

Jose, you & me asking the same question but methinks nobody knows the answer !
 EffinA 1299 points
Dude, hook the ESC to channel 3, the BEC will power it on any channel.
simon  6 points - 3/10/2013

I ask again, where does the receiver lead in this ESC plug into a 9X receiver ? Batt connections or Throttle or is this not compatible with the Turnigy receiver.
 ATX10 30 points
Plugs into channel 3 of ur 9x receiver, yes throttle channel.

Bought it here in HK a while ago. Now I'm trying to work it on but i had no success. It's energized by a Turnigy 4000 mAh, 4 cells LiPo battery and plugged to a TWM KM0374810 motor. I use a Spektrum AR6200 receiver and plugged the ESC to the Throttle slot. Also tried the Battery slot but it didn't even light the RX led! Any suggestions? :-(
 EffinA 1299 points
Check to see if you plugged it in backwards. If you did, it will not come on, otherwise, you may have a bad BEC. Use a multitester to see if there is 4-6VDC from the plug to the TX, if not it is a bad BEC, if so, something is not correctly hooked up.
BEST ANSWER CREDIT AWARDED
Yes, unfortunally I've got a bad ESC .... Nothing to do ....
 EffinA 1299 points
Thank you for the credit. I am sure HK will hook you up with a credit, and I can tell you these are usually very reliable ESC's
simon  6 points - 3/4/2013

Where does the receiver lead plug into, the throttle channel or the batt channel, if into the throttle does this provide the sbec power to the reciver ?
 EffinA 1299 points
Throttle channel.
Peter  47 points - 2/20/2013

The fact that this ESC can be programmed using the Turnigy Speed Controller Programming Card (idProduct=7187) increase the usability significant. Not only stupid stick-programming as stated in the description.
 Peter 47 points
Note: you have to use a other sheme then printed on the programmer - the right one can be found in the files-section - its the K-Force ESC ....
jason  15 points - 2/12/2013

I,m sorry same question as below but had to switch batteries cuz out of stock. Now rhino 2250mah 25c, HK450, turnigy 3500kv motor, ESC from above, but i need a compatable ubec or sbec, thanks.
 EffinA 1299 points
No sir, it has a BEC built in, so no worries.
jason  15 points - 2/12/2013

since the trust esc's out of stock i,m getting this, but does anyone have any recommendations for ubec or sbec to go with this esc in my HK450, 3500kv motor, 2200mah 25c battery?? Some advice would be greatly appreciated.
 EffinA 1299 points
It has a BEC already, so you don't need another one.

Sorry, (lo siento) no hablo espanol (I do not speak spanish)
 Peter 47 points
Don't matter - it seems to be portuguese *-) he only saying that this is a nice esc with smooth throttle response and he is also thrilled about the 45, 60amps yep esc.
 William 189 points
Oops...........I'm happy if he's happy.
Adel2310  10 points - 1/28/2013

hi , what kind of programing card can be used with this ESC thanks
 aero330 46 points
It can be easily programmed with your TX without program cards. Read the instructions in the "file tables"
 Peter 47 points
use the Turnigy Speed Controller Programming Card (idProduct=7187) and you don't have to do this silly stick-action .... i have tried it with my v2.0 card - it works perfect ....

Is this enough for a 3700kv motor and four servos? Im building a 450 heli
 johndoe81 21 points
Yes it is no need to run a bec with this esc.
 Alvaro 3 points
thanks man
roberted5  104 points - 1/3/2013

Will it power 4 1.0 amp servos using 4S Li-Po's since it's SBEC?Does the 4amp SBEC work for up to 6S?
 johndoe81 21 points
Yes it will work without any issues.

LINEAR OR SWITCHING TYPE BEC IS THIS..???!
TELL THE TRUTH..!
 Gary 2959 points
The specs clearly state "Linear",no mention of SBEC.
 Erik Andre 7 points
Take a look at the picture, I read SBEC on the ESC. That is what confuses me and make me wonder if the specs is wrong.
 Gary 2959 points
Sorry, did not notice that, yes,it is a bit confusing, think I would go by the label the manufacturers put on the ESC and not the specs.
 ARINAS 90 points
so,consider its an switching type bec..?
 roberted5 104 points
It's SBEC.
Mohd Fadly  11 points - 12/20/2012

how fast its MCU real refresh rate? is it over 450Hz ?? any potential for this esc to be reflash wit better/new firmware,to achieve faster refresh rate?? tqvm for answer...

ANYBODY KNOW ANSWER FOR HIS QUESTION...??PLS .. HELP..!?
Erik Andre  7 points - 12/16/2012

We can read SBEC on the ESC (piture), the text states linear BEC - is the BEC linear or switching?
William  189 points - 12/15/2012

Will this work on an Addiction X (rather than Quantum 45a ESC which is expensive)? Thanks guys. Planning on a 4s 2200 and G25 brushless outrunner.
 William 189 points
Nevermind...

using this ESC Stock settings with a proven 2500 11.1 Lipo on a Turnigy sk3 helidrive(450size) all on a HK450. Normal flight mode is set up at -2 and 12 pitch. I get a good hover for less than 2 minutes and the motor lags (sounds like too much pitch) I will set it down and head speed comes up and it will hover for a few seconds then will repeat the issues. I switched the ESC with an older one and it flies rock solid with awesome 3d performance. Any info would be of great help.
Thanks....

I have this Turnigy AE-45A Brushless ESC in a helicopter, can anyone tell me which programme card to use with this speed controller.I would like one so I can to set up start mode to very soft.
 crashtestheli 26 points
Look under files on the tabs above. Use your transmitter to program the esc using the instruction manual.
 Bush-pilot 12 points
Thanks Crashtestheli,
Thats How I have done the program at this time, But I have never liked doing it this way.
I would like to get the card as its quick and easy, also its accurate no messing around with peep peep system of programming, I like a card.
 John 64 points
stock setting is very soft. I am setting mine up now and have not had to touch the factory settings....I am thinking that change may be in order when I start more 3d flying but I am looking for a rock solid set up first.

How long is the acceleration time of this esc until it reach highest speed? I need it on heli 4-5sec or more. Can it be similar to align esc which able 10 sec very slow acceleration or this will reach highest speed within 1-2 sec wich rolls the heli dangerosly

hello, I am looking for information on the mod Burst 45 A, two questions: - What is the value (A) and max time to burst? - When I put gas, a red LED lights up, is that it means it goes into Burst mod? I have not received my ordered metric Amp clamp and in the meantime I would not burn out the controller. thank you
 choub 6 points
Ok i find For Led utilisation,up to throttle full up
 choub 6 points
it's compatible to: Turnigy TrackStar ESC Programing Card ?

hello dear friends , please , can anyone tell me : has this ESC an GOVERNOR mode or not ? thank you
 AUTOROTATION 221 points
Yes it does. I believe after two long beeps and one short you have the option. One short beep is off. Two short beeps is low setting. And three short beeps is high governor setting. I hope this helps. If you need another copy of the manual check under files in that items listing. Or let me know and o can upload one for you. Manual covers the 45 and 65 amp esc models.

1 thumbs up!
The description clams the AE45A is programmed with Turnigy BESC program card. It doesn't work. What does work is the HobbyWing Program Card. It show the 12 settings with each value, reference the AE45A docs, set and hit OK. It done. Re-power everything and verify.

I have one of these in my Polaris XL with a 400 watt motor and a 3S 2650 batt; Excellent! Very smooth throttle and good clean power to the receiver and servos. Running a heat sink since it's inside seaplane with no airflow, still no overheating.

I'm buying another right now for another seaplane.

Work perfectly. I put a lot of stress on it and it never gave up. (I push it by error over 90Amps for 5 secondes, wrong setup on test bench)I noticed my error after, the ESC was hot, but not burning hot. Still working fine. The BEC drive 2x HS-65MG and 2x HS-82MG without problem (analog servos).
