More than just a fancy name. TURNIGY nano-tech lithium polymer batteries are built with an LiCo nano-technology substrate complex greatly improving power transfer making the oxidation/reduction reaction more efficient, this helps electrons pass more freely from anode to cathode with less internal impedance. In short; less voltage sag and a higher discharge rate than a similar density lithium polymer (non nano-tech) battery. For those that love graphs, it means a straighter, longer curve. For pilots it spells stronger throttle punches and unreal straight-up performance. Excellent news for 3D pilots! Unfortunately with other big brands; numbers, ratings and graphs can be fudged. Rest assured, TURNIGY nano-techs are the real deal, delivering unparalleled performance!Spec.Capacity: 850mAhVoltage: 3S1P / 3 Cell / 11.1VDischarge: 25C Constant / 40C BurstWeight: 69g (including wire, plug & case)Dimensions: 63x32x25mmBalance Plug: JST-XHDischarge Plug: Mini-JSTSuited to the following models: ALIGN T-Rex250,GAUI EP-255 * The nano-core technology in lithium ion batteries is the application of nanometer conductive additives. 1) The nanometer conductive additives form ultrastrong electron-conducting networks in the electrodes which can increase electronic conductivity. 2) These additives create a superstrong ability for imbibition in the carrier liquid to supply more ion channels. This improves the ability of ion transmission and ion diffusion. Through improving electronic conductivity and ion transmission, the impedance is reduced and the polarization of high rate discharge decreases greatly.Advantages over traditional Lipo batteries;-Power density reaches 7.5 kw/kg.-Less Voltage sag during high rate discharge, giving more power under load.-Internal impedance can reach as low as 1.2mΩ compared to that of 3mΩ of a standard Lipoly.-Greater thermal control, pack usually doesnt exceed 60degC-Thickness swelling during heavy load doesnt exceed 5%, compared to 15% of a normal Lipoly during heavy load.-Higher capacity during heavy discharge. More than 90% at 100% C rate.-Fast charge capable, up to 15C on some batteries.-Longer Cycle Life, almost double that of standard lipoly technology.

Can i use it with Turnigy 2217 20turn 860kv 22A Outrunner
Operating Current: 6A ~ 17A
Peak Current: 19A
or it is too much for them?
Have anyone tried 20A discharge?
I am using these with a 24 gram bell motor, the 2217 you listed is larger than the bells. You should have no issues using these packs. Your prop will determine how many amps the esc pulls from the battery pack.
I am new to rc...do I need any connectors or wires to connect this to charger(http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_ viewItem.asp?idProduct=7637) or ESC?
Why can't I answer the questions? Somethings is not working properly. I try mozilla and chrome - I can submit a question but NOT answer it - the system keeps asking me for the logon data - though I am logged in and though I keep entering correct email and password..
why do they use a JST connector on a battery that is rated for 21.25 amps continuous and 34 amp burst.these connectors are rated by the manufacturer at 3 amps and get warm at 7 amps.they should come with a connector that can handle the rated power
Batteries aren't really rated for amps, they are capable of it. What determines amp draw is the motor or device it's plugged into. I use JST on everything up to 1000mah and I have never had a problem with a melted or hot plug.
Its a little bit dodgy but I've had some luck with this before by giving it a short non balanced charge. Keep an eye on it, and once the voltage is back up a bit, try putting it back on a balancing charge.
Saved a few lipos like this. The cell might not quite make it back to 100% but still worthwhile trying.
Good Luck!
I just got it today,I used it for my UBEC, charged only once and after I noticed that one cell is 2v and even not charging. Any ideas how to get it back to life?
if you connect the battery to the side that connect to the esc with another battery that has at least 7 volts and wait for a minute try your charger start balancing your battery
I'm assuming you have an XT-60 on your ESC and just want to connect it to this battery, in which case it should be fine. Keep in mind that a charging adapter might only be a low amp rating as most batteries charge slowly, and not able to withstand the high power draw when connected to the ESC and running the motor. Check the writing on the wires, if it has any. This is more applicable to high output systems that might charge at 5A but discharge at over 100A at full throttle. Hope this helps.
You certainly can. The JST connectors are intended for use up to about 16 Amps of current but many people use them in power systems up to 20A. If your system is in this range, you can use an adapter or simply install a female JST plug on your ESC's power input wires or change both over to XT60. Best wishes.
yeah sure can and will run for ages on one charge but should probably use a bec as well because of it being a lipo
personally i dont i just try to keep an eye on the voltage
Hi Foo, At 25A current you're drawing about 30C (2 min. of flying total) from this battery, so I'm assuming you're talking short bursts (<10s) at that level. The JST connectors are fine for up to 30A of short bursts. Continuous draw >20A will heat up both the connector and wires. Cheers!
been using these batteries with my HK250GT..My setup is align trex250 esc/motor and never had a problem...also using these batteries with my carisma GT14 1/14 car which has a castle creations 25amp esc and a brushless 3300kv motor...So far so good no problems with the wires or the connector...
Buddy, you have to say what Piper you are talking about... wingspan, motor-esc-propeller info would be great, otherwise nobody can correctly answer your question...
In case you do have a manual for that piper and it was delivered with all electronics look up the battery voltage and size (capacity) in that manual. sometimes it is also stated on the box the bird is packed in.
another thing you have to check is the size, you should measure the battery compartment in your plane and make sure it fi
Hey, I found this site while on rcgroups forums *******hk.rc-international.info/swarm
its a place where people can post their buddycodes and can search other people's buddy codes. I always check here when buying things.
well i dont think they are such a good idea, when using these batteries i dont know how but a female connector on a bec like exlpoded or something, anyhow it stopped working and i switched out to the 3.5mm bullet type here
You can't* they cells are spot welded together! The only way you can split them is to cut the tabs off where they have been welded, leaving you with nothing to solder new connectors to. = bad idea. Don't ask how I know :)
Tough question to answer.. forgive me if you find this answer to be beneath you current level of experience. It's a glider, so it would depend on how well you thermal. Normally, the motor is used only to take the glider to the desired altitude. In theory you could stay up for 30 minutes or more depending on how much current your RX and servos pull as that would be the main current drain once the plane is at altitude and gliding.
I have 2 of these and i get around about 8 mins with a stock setup with 15T pinion with about 25 left after the flight have just ordered 2 more great packs
Craig
I have two of these and my flight times (250 w/stock Align motor, ESC and 15T pinion) range from 8 to 12 min and you'll love the fast charge rate. I have been very pleased with mine.
I fly hard 3D with these batteries in t-rex 250. My transmitter times is set to 3min 50s . The voltage after flight is 3.7v per cell. I use 16T pinion and 100-100-100 thortle curve.
what's up with the stock?!
i'm pretty sure there were still some in stock as i did my last order. now it is on back order!
how can it be?
can anybody answer if it was on stock on feb 19th 2011?
thx
If you ordered and paid while they were in stock, they will show up as "reserved" under the status and be shipped once they get to your order. Just wait 5 days or so as there is a big back-log.
Take care about using 3S lipos on a FP2, such a voltage can damage the 4in1.
2S is much sure.
Anyway, you won't find any good battery for the price * my copterX 250 is much much agressive with these lipos!! Great power.
I used Turnigy Li-Po 2s 800mAH on HBFP can give me 8 - 10 min flight time, also depent on how you flight. Hovering and slow forward moving can easily takes 10 min.... I'm going to try nano-tech.... expect to have more power if needed.
Just received one. Shocked at how thin the wiring is, 20 AWG. Can this safely handle the 25C constant (21A) that it claims? On the 2S I can understand, but on 3S? I can easily change the JST plug but the wiring I can't. Plan to use it at up to 15C constant and 25C burst, but the wiring has me worried.
I don't think it is a problem. You MUST make sure that your motor/ESC can handle the power now going through it. I brought this batt. and it's making my Mini cub..(yeah MINI CUB) RIP in the air. I had no problems and the batter always held it's charge current.
I purchased 4 of these exact batteries. I am pulling 21-22 amps in a combat wing using an Emax CF2805 swinging a 6x4 APC prop and have over 10 flights on each(6 minutes on timer). No issues at all! can probably get 8 min safely on this setup.
I don't know how everybody is doing their calculations. Wouldn't 10C be 8.5A? 10C means you use all the capacity in 6 minutes (60 / 10 = 6). So if you can fly for over 6 minutes then you are using less than 10C constant, so less than 8.5A. You may use over 10C in bursts, however. I plan to use this lipo in a jet which may only fly 4-5 minutes using up all the capacity (4 minutes is 15C constant, 12.75A), with maybe 25C bursts. Is 20AWG wiring really sufficient for this?
otima bateria, estou usando no hk250 gt, carrega muito rapido e nao esquenta em uso forte, gostei.

Works great on a Align T-Rex 250 even in harder 3D. It has significantly more power than other brands. It has a usable capacity of about the rated 850mAh. Which means, that the actual total capacity is greater than stated. Build quality is ok, no PCB was used to connect the cells (directly soldered), which safes weight. The Balancing wire could be shorter, that's why I shortened mine. Great Battery.
