More than just a fancy name. TURNIGY nano-tech lithium polymer batteries are built with an LiCo  nano-technology substrate complex greatly improving power transfer making the oxidation/reduction reaction more efficient, this helps electrons pass more freely from anode to cathode with less internal impedance.
In short; less voltage sag and a higher discharge rate than a similar density lithium polymer (non nano-tech) battery.

The nano-core technology in lithium ion batteries is the application of nanometer conductive additives.
1) The nanometer conductive additives form ultrastrong electron-conducting networks in the electrodes which can increase electronic conductivity.
2) These additives create a superstrong ability for imbibition in the carrier liquid to supply more ion channels. This improves the ability of ion transmission and ion diffusion.
Through improving electronic conductivity and ion transmission, the impedance is reduced and the polarization of high rate discharge decreases greatly.
Advantages over traditional Lipo batteries;
-Power density reaches 7.5 kw/kg.
-Less Voltage sag during high rate discharge, giving more power under load.
-Internal impedance can reach as low as 1.2mΩ compared to that of 3mΩ of a standard Lipoly.
-Greater thermal control, pack usually doesnt exceed 60degC
-Thickness swelling during heavy load doesnt exceed 5%, compared to 15% of a normal Lipoly during heavy load.
-Higher capacity during heavy discharge. More than 90% at 100% C rate.
-Fast charge capable, up to 15C on some batteries.
-Longer Cycle Life, almost double that of standard lipoly technology.

Although a 3V cell is considered to be 100% depleted, it is not recommended to go down there at all as you will be shortening its lifespan. You actually should limit discharge to voltages above 3.5V in order to protect your battery. You should also consider that cell voltages always drop when under load, which means that whenever you measure the voltage left on a pack "after" a flight when it is no longer under load, the battery has already been submitted to lower voltages during flight. Some chargers will also have trouble recognizing the number of cells in a pack if any cell voltages drop below 3.2V (happened to me more than once) and you should be careful to double check you have selected the right charging mode and number of cells in the pack. Charging a battery pack with the wrong number of cells dramatically increases the risk of puffing or even getting a battery to smoke and catch on fire. If you could use 2 batteries instead one 3 cell 3000 MAH and one 2 cell 3000 mah this way you could use them in other electric planes you may own. I have some planes that take different cell counts and having a batteries I can take from one plane to another save me money and cut down on batteries sitting around to long and going dead. As for if they will come out with one. I guess it depend on whether they get enough request for one or they start selling a plane that would need one But having tw

I purchased three and so far have been flying them in my Electrifly Edge 540T. They fit perfectly and provide awesome power. After 7.5 minutes the batteries are just a little warm. A 5C (15 amp)charge rate is nice, I have only charged at 4 amp rate. A very good battery! I plan to fly these in an eflite Pogo eventually.

Excellent battery. 25/50c instead of 20/30C, about an ounce lighter than the standard battery, and you can charge them at 5C !! I wil be buying more.
