More than just a fancy name. TURNIGY nano-tech lithium polymer batteries are built with an LiCo nano-technology substrate complex greatly improving power transfer making the oxidation/reduction reaction more efficient, this helps electrons pass more freely from anode to cathode with less internal impedance.
In short; less voltage sag and a higher discharge rate than a similar density lithium polymer (non nano-tech) battery. For those that love graphs, it means a straighter, longer curve. For pilots it spells stronger throttle punches and unreal straight-up performance. Excellent news for 3D pilots!
Unfortunately with other big brands; numbers, ratings and graphs can be fudged. Rest assured, TURNIGY nano-techs are the real deal, delivering unparalleled performance!
Though a battery is sold with a plug attached there are so many different plugs in use today that it is easyer to buy a battery that is not wired with what you are using and change it out.
2 of this ,good choice? thanks http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__21942__Tu rnigy_nano_tech_7600mah_2S_40_80C_Lipo_Pack_TRA2869_ Summit_E_Revo_E_Maxx_.html
I use a 5000mah 4s nanotech in my savage and it still hold up to the huge power demand of my brushless motor. So two 2s 7600mah in a summit or e-revo and with the right esc and motor and you will get an insane beast
This is fine for you Kyosho.
more than enough punch and power.
the only thing you still can look for longer driving times
more mah, longer your be driving your rc!
hi there...
i have a traxxas E-revo with a mama monster ESC and the 2200kv motor... actually i roll on 6s (Zippy 5800 3S - 30c) im thinking buy 2 batteries Turnigy 5000 Nanotech 45-90... my question is... is safery for the ESC and the motor? Thanks! =)
I have recently received an Airfield P-51D ("Marie") and it says it requires a 14.8V battery. Will this battery fit it? Are all 14.8V batts the same dimensions? This sounds like a good batt - if it will fit. Thanks.
Yes. I run the track star 150A esc and 2650 track star brushless in my 1/8 buggy and they are as good as the other brands double this price! Highly recommend
One more question, why is this pack heavier and longer in size compared to its 65C sibling? I was led to believe that the higher the discharge rate the bigger the pack. Is there a mistake here?
Discharge rate and size does not go hand in hand. The C rate is just an indicator of how much amperes the cell is capable of letting away from it. size comes with mah's, the higher mah's, the bigger the cells. Hope this helps some.
Will this fit in a HPI Vorza Flux? The Vorza battery tray is designed for a 160mm pack max. This pack seems abnormally long. Should I be considering another pack for this buggy?
I've measured it for you, laying flat on the table with "turnigy label" up it's 15,5 cm in length (6,10 inches), 5 cm in width (1,96 inches) and 3.7cm in height (1,45 inches). That's without the cables. Hope this helps.
Charge only on a lipo charger. It is not a life battery. Any other charger used just might ignite or explode the batt. 14.8 voltage setting. Will terminate charge at 16.8v. I rarely charge any battery above 1c, I've got lots of them, so I'm in no hurry. They last longer life when charged at lower rates. Rokcster
OK these cells can deliver 225 ampere constant, but what about the cables and the bullet connectors? They'll go hot and desolder soon. Not to mention the incredible 90C peak current.
Jason5001 are these packs 10C charge as in 10x5Amps OR are they max 10A charge as I notice the discharge C is "c" where as the charge C is "C". I ask this as I have had similar disscussions where the two references to the "C" have differing applications depending on context.
C = Currency = 5000mA. So the Charging Current could be 50Amps. Hell YEAH! We need better Chargers! Wohooo!
And 90C are 90 x 5000mA = 450A Max Current.
I N C R E D I B L E
Sorry i don't think you understood the context of the question. There are two Different applications for the use of the "C" when it comes to batteries. One is the traditional DISCHARGE meaning of current output 1C = 5A, yes, therefore Charge rate of 50A is possible. There is in some circles the second use of "C" with respect to CHARGE rate = max Amps input where 10C = 10A MAX input charge rate. Hope this makes it clearer.
To bad new technology disappoints you. Of corse it's going to weighs more, but thats what you would trade for the high C discharge capabilities. How much more would a normal pack that could discharge at the same rate weigh? a lot more. So it's not really a down fall just a trade off.
oh no, i agree that its great to have less voltage sag, and that is fantastic, but it would be nice to get lighter packs in order to run more mah and get longer flight time, that is all.
They have to construct with a lot of copper in the laminations to carry that amount of current, without generating a large heat producing voltage drop. Unless you want to pay for gold in the laminations, or get a custom shape made with shorter laminations, in a more cube shaped battery, it's a fair limitation. I think most of the weight in these sort of batteries is actually the copper.
Graham Question? Why do you refer to "a lot of copper in the laminations"? As these are listed as LiCo not LiPo Li = Lithium Co = Cobalt not Cu as in Copper? or is there more to the tech that i'm missing?
No, ordinary chargers can be used to charge it like the Accucell 6 or 8 but the charge rate is rather limited on those charger. You can look into the Junsi chargers (i-Charger series). Look up the specs for the 3010B.
you need chargers like icharger to charge these at 5 c or more ratings. Go for icharger 3010B. it is expensive but totally worth it. you will not enjoy these batteries unless you have a decent charger to charge them at high rates.
Yeap as time moves on i take it these will eventually replace all the normal capacities and voltages. We need some chargers now that are reliable and powerful to use all the advantages of the nano tech batteries.
Why are the packs different widths for the 3s 5000mah and the 4s 5000mah? 3s is 59mm and the 4s is the normal 50mm. are they made with different 5000mah cells?
And I've just bough 200W charger and 2C batteries. Even with them I can charge my 1/8 packs in 35 minutes. Just imagine having two of this babies and a proper charger would mean charging faster than 1/8 could discharge!!!! Unbelievable
Hello ! I have bought two battery and they arrived 3 days ago. Balancing was perfect , 3,81v/cell on both packs ! The only strange thing is when i charged this battery , at the end of charge, the voltage was 3,90v/cell !? I used a gt power charger at 5000mah balanced and until now , all others lipos i have charged measured at the end 4,20v/cell, probably the difference is caused by the new formula . Aniway i tried one of this on my losi eight buggy whith hobbyking 150a esc and castle/neu 2200kv ...the power is terrific ...umbelievable !!!! FIVE STARS !!! p.S. Sorry for mi bad english !
Hello! I want to add a comment to my first one . Well, after discharged the batteries on my losi8, (3volt/cell cutoff on my esc), i recharged the packs in the same conditions and , this time , every cell got 4,20v/cell instead 3,90v !! I'm very impatient to retry on my buggy !!!
1 on that!! I bought 2 just to test them in my revo convertion :P

2 thumbs up!
Not really happy with them. I have 2 of them running a tekin rx8 t8 1900k/v on a 1/8 rc8be with a 15/46 gearing and they are hot and ballooned after the run. the power is fluctuating when hot. I'll keep running them with different gearing and I'll see. updates to come

Excellent pack. Running in a Tekno 8T Mamba Monster/2200 setup. Burst rates seem to be as stated as well. Best bang for buck battery for 1/8th buggies & truggies on the site. Forget buying the normal Turnigys, these are much better.

I recived the nano tech lipo on wednesday.I noticed that the battery lead where not the same as pictured but that was easely corrected.I am very happy with the lipo pack.i`m running it wit my HPI flux set for the savage.a perfect fit in the chassis and thanks to that size i was able to put in a smaller pinion so the motor runs cooler.Run times of 40 minutes.
Very impressive
