This Black jet is beautifully finished and well detailed twin EDF jet. not your typical foamie! Comes with a powerful 4000kv twin EDF power system run by 2 40A ESCs. The jet is 97% pre assembled, including all the servos and retract landing gears. Just glue the wings and vertical stabalizers and your ready to go!
You need a 3S battery and a RX to fly this jet.

i bought this model at a local dealer tryd to fly it on 3s 4000 30c seriously under powerd take of concrete 50meters speed pik up flew 5 meters, tryd 4s 4000 30c for 2 seconds was not good it will fry the motors and esc's ordered now 2 64mm alloy 4000kv 850w outrunners repairing gear and nose will report back when next test flight is made
i'm going for 3s 1p with the stock 40amp esc's i need other esc's if i wanna run 4s it will be around 43amp. i've receive the impellers yesterday i've repaired the nose the new edf unit's are 40 grams heavyer but the nose repair levels this out.
but i've got one question cg wise on the drawing its 78 - 5mm behind the front of the engine i have my doubts that is further to back
Will this jet EVER be stocked in the USA?
Since this was a Jet the US military used for decades it would only seem as a nice gesture to have the plane available in the country that it's service was used in. :-) hint hint..
apologies, i mis read ur question,,,i have had 2 jet from international warehouse and with the second jet,,the f15 eagle the shipping was as much as the plane,,,45 pounds !!

I would buy this model but you guys will not ship to the US because of size. Chart shows total size at 2782 but shipping chart shows max upto 2850. What gives.
Have the same problem in NL warehouse, it´*s ridiculous! The packet size is under the limmits of the shown shipping methods. Also this should go with land transport from NL to Sweden, so what is the problem. Is the trucks smaller in the Netherlands or what. Obviously they managed to ship it from China warehouse to NL warehouse it´*s magic I suppose.
One more thing, I can order 3 Dassault Alfa 70mm PNF without problem, hmmm...
I filed a complaint in the support and hope I can get an answer.
After my complaint they have corrected the error with the meassurements and I have been able to order it from NL Warehouse. Hope You will be able to order it now!
I love this jet! That being said. I think HK needs to up grade this model a ton. First off this is not a plug and fly model. It took me 1 week of all hour evenings to set this model up correctly. The fuse was badly damaged, I had to repair the whole left side and the packaging was spotless and perfect. From the landing gear to the power set up to the EDFs, all i will say is cheep cheep. If you try to fly this model as is, expect to throw it in the garbage after your done at the field. The casting is fantastic, i will say, But that is all the good i have to say about this Plane. Way over priced for what you get. HK, There are loads of model pilots out there that will pay for quality products, I'm one of them. Why spend the time and money building this beautiful bird if you fill it with ****. I have been a loyal customer to HK and will continue to be. I don't Know if HK will read this. Fix this bird up with some decant stuff please! The blackbird is an iconic plane and deserves some of your higher quality gear. Thx.
It is basically 4 channels - elevator and ailerons working together as elevons, nose gear steering (rudder) and throttle. You just need to make sure that your transmitter has an 'elevon' function to use for this aircraft.
And when will it be avaliable in Ze German speaking Warehouse soo we can get our filthy hands on it... THIS IS A MUST HAVE!!!! pretty pretty please with cream and sugar on top :-)
It seems to be a very high ratio of people recommending the 4S battery? Will the ESC's that come with it work or does it require and upgrade to an ESC that will support the ESC Battery? Thanks in a advance.
Sure you can, EMS Express. They even went down on the price (of the plane) so now its 231.38 shipped to my door (USA, Texas.) I am trying to talk myself into it. Jason mentioned in the forums that "It's already on the list for DE/US/AU" So maybe it will be cheaper when (if) it shows up the the USA warehouse.
I tried to buy one and it shows that it cannot be shipped to the US. ***mer.
The charts below that show each shipper and I don't see there why it can't ship...

We did stock the plane you're talking about, around 6 months before.

Well, to Syria the Shipping cost is more than the plane price, local dealers will provide it in similar price after shipment. any way good job HK, plz work the price out and support spare parts. i might choose to buy it from HK if they guaranty for us that the fans are balanced and motors are quality. plz bring the SU model and F117 like the one in B"N"N" H"PP"
I have thte 2nd generation from banana airframe only and 4000 kv motors on 4s. You'll need 4s with the 4300s I'd expect, not the 3s spec'ed. On 3s Ive run 5800 kvs on 40amp escs.
This comes with servos, 2 big motors, 2 big ESC, retract landing gear. and 2 x ducted fan units.
I can't fault hobbyking for putting a big price tag on it as well. Go check out the brushless boats for a comparison on craft with big power units.
Bet you're all going to forget to photo yourself with them before your kamakaizee maiden flights :-D
Would be nice if shipping could be AirMail, EMS is US$ 100 more than Air mail for me.
Maybe, of the body was made into a two part body, to make the box shorter.
Shipping options should include Air Parcel/Air Mail. With EMS and the cost of the plane itself, it becomes too expensive. Hoping that HK can find a solution... HK, please try to provide such models in EPP/EPO instead of EPS. It is too high an expense to have it destroyed by a single hard landing.

i bought this plane like a year ago and i have to say that it is a very nice well finished and great look but you will never fly it with a 2200 mha 3s i crashed mine at first flight because of this the plane toke off and flew 15 seconds and one motor died and the plane get rolling ant the disaster came then i will give only 3 stars cause the plane is beutifull really beatifull

Blackbird arrived safe and in good time . Positives: LOOKS LIKE PHOTO, NICE. ADEQUATE INSTRUCTIONS. EASY ASSEMBLY Negatives:SUPPLIED GLUE DID NOT COMPLETELY SET, AFTER 3 DAYS I HAD TO RE STICK WITH EPOXY. MODEL WAS DROPPED PRIOR TOP SHIPPING DAMAGE TO INTAKE AND CRACKED WINGLET , SOMEONE HAD TRIED TO REPAIR WINGLET PRIOR TO SHIPPING BUT GLUED IT BACK IN THE WRONG PLACE SPENT ALOT OF TIME FIXING IT PROPERLY, FANS NEED BALANCING. OTHERWISE OK .

I have the LX models version of this. Flying with 4s 2200mah 25c Turnigy Lipo (From Hobby City) This battery fills the stock compartment. Flat out, the battery lasts about 4 mins. Speed wise it does about 100kph & has no problems with short grass. I also added the Turnigy servo speed regulator to save the retract servo's & make it look a little more realistic. Looks great in the air, just make sure you angle the elevons up a few degrees.

THIS IS A PIECE OF CRAP IT DOES NOT FLY I HAVE TO REPOWER IT WHO EVER SAID THIS IS A FAST MODEL PLEASE SHOW ME HOW IT WILL NOT TAKE OFF ON THE GROUND I HAD TO THROW IT IT FLEW APROX 20 MTRS AND CRASEH THE LANDING GEAR FAILED ON THE BENCH COME ONB HOBBY KING WHAT SORT OF CRAP ARE YOU TRYING TO OFF LOAD
