Hi Pilots anybody that knows where the cg of this plane. I dident recive any manual. Thanks
rc_lov3r  3 points - 5/5/2013

i have the a stinger 64 and i also have this goshawk. it would not be efficient to put the standard stinger 64 edf unit in this model. what you need for this model is a good 4cell set up. try the 64mm alloy edf unit istead it would be a blast PRODUCT ID: 107000006 . i run mine w/ zippy 2200 4cell 45c its a blast to fly
wormdude  1 points - 5/5/2013

Hello all.. Please help me.. Is it okay if I use a stock motor and electronic from stinger v1? I have a stock electronic from stinger. But my stinger kit crashed and cannot be repaired. My plan is buy this kit and put my electonic on this.. Thanks...

Can I cut the battery bay out slightly if needed or is the foam not thick enough?
agedflier  13 points - 4/29/2013

I already have the motor and CP 10 blade fan..I just wanted to know if I could use the motor and CP10 blade fan. Also..Does anyone know what is included in the box..i did not get the aileron control rods you can see in the product pix.
 ricksonchow 41 points
Why not? I have mine with a 70mm 10 blade fan in it. Just need some dremel work and it will fit. The aileron connecting rod should be included, you may like to contact HK and ask for it. I bought the kit version and it includes: 1. nose cone 2. fuselage 3. Wing 4. Horizontal Stab X2 5. Vertical Stabl 6. Elevator connecting rod and clevis 7. Aileron connecting rod X2 and clevis 8. Landing gear and wheels 9. Canopy 10. Cockpit 11. Cockpit secure lip 12. Sticker decal set 13. red triangle stickers for red area around the nose 14. Intake covers
 agedflier 13 points
Ricksonchow thank you for that..I eventually found the.hidden under some stuff in one of the attached boxes. What motor/ESC/Battery combo are you using? I have the L2855-2800Kv motor.Would that give me the power and if so what battery should I use?
 ricksonchow 41 points
That's great that you finally found it. I am using Turnigy plush 60A esc. I was using the L2855 2800 to power the 70mm 10 blade for 4S, but now I switched to L2855 2300 for 5S. This setup gave me much more power with a lower amp draw.
agedflier  13 points - 4/28/2013

I bought this kit but HK do NOT stock the recommended motor(b3836-4300Kv)What other motor would suit that will run on 3/4s batt..Please HK do not recommend things you dont stock.
 _Yuriy_ 12 points
I would strongly recommend ID: 107000006. It suits the mounting position of this plane just perfectly! besides through home made bench tests I can confirm that this motor gives about 800-900g of thrust at full 4s battery, taking 50A at peak. so supply your set with 50-60A ESC (I'd recommend "turnigy trust" 45-55 or plush 60 (depending of your flying temper)) and 1800mah battery (ID: N1800.4S.35 allso suits perfectly into battery area of this plane). you will not be disappointed!
Tako  1 points - 4/24/2013

This airplane came with 5-blade impeller, I want to use the Turnigy 2610 EDF Outrunner 5000kv for 55/64mm fans. There was no adapter with the airplane? Which adapter do I use to fit the motor with the fan? I have got a 3.0mm axle on the motor.
Andy2No  83 points - 3/15/2013

I see some (most?) of the reviews for the UK warehouse complaining about the nose cone being missing (and the usual cr*p service when they try to sort it out). It's not shown as being separate in the pics, so where does it start? Is it the whole of the bit with T45 painted on it? How wide is it, at the base, or how wide is the nose where it attaches? Is it a plastic cone, or a foam section?
 ricksonchow 41 points
I bought it form HK when the UK warehouse was out of stock. Fortunately nothing was missing. The nose cone is made of very thin soft plastic. It is 77mm wide and 80mm tall. The length of the cone is around 134mm

 seedo 103 points
change the whole thing is better, cuz i tried this unit on the T-45 and the plane is much better with it
 sonnydc 117 points
Get this one, a Lander 64mm alloy unit. PRODUCT ID: 107000006. The best value alloy EDF. You won't regret it.
 mattydred 9 points
pull the fan out and fit a pusher 2500kv motor with apc6x5 prop *0)
 sonnydc 117 points
*mattydred can you please show us the picture of your pusher conversion for the goshawk? I am interested in trying that.

Does anyone know what fan would work to replace the stock fan?
 Luca 6 points
gud performance with www.link a Lipo 2200Mah 4S
 Tartago 481 points
The best is the mercury alloy 64mm 3700kv on 5s. I goes vertical forever!
 _Yuriy_ 12 points
the best fan motor for this plane is ID: 107000006. it gives about 800-900g of thrust at 4s. you need 50-60A ESC to power it (I'd recommend turnugy plush 60 or turnigy trust 55 (turnigy trust 45 will allso be suitable if you're not going to fly at full throttle all the time)) and the battery 1800mah 35C
David  3 points - 8/6/2012

hey what about a manual???

how do i put canpy together?
What fan do i use???
 little_drifter 67 points
You have to glue the two canopy parts together. There are plenty of EDF units on hobbyking to choose from. Just choose the most powerful!

can the landing gear be taken off for belly landings
 FlyRcFly 1744 points
Yes! Off course you will have to hand launch. Also you will need to land on grass. If you land on a hard surface you will grind away the belly. Even short dry grass will stuff it.

 bent71 3 points
Add some fiberglass tape to the belly to save the EPO when belly landing!

Is this a good plane after AXN floater jet? I want to use eith 3s.
 Palber 115 points
Very good EDF trainer. Allow basic aerobatics and smooth landing. You can see my video in video tab of ARF version.
 IOANNIS 2 points
i have f16 64mm & f18 70mm. recently i order this one and i am very happy with this jet... i used mine electronic and motor and it flight very good.
FlavioAraujo  10 points - 5/5/2012

hi guys, what motor do you suggest for 4s? I bought the 2615 but in specifications says is only 3s... Any help?
 Palber 115 points
HK2836 3800kv is a good option.
 IOANNIS 2 points
the plane needs 4s bat & motor to have power to fly and do anything- anytime...
 chris 29 points
you will need to upgrade your esc before anything. im running 4s on stock everything. i only swapped esc's.
FlavioAraujo  10 points - 4/29/2012

Hi guys, anyone, can suggest a non so much expensive retracts for this bird?
 Palber 115 points
In rcgroups thread of this bird you can view many photos & how to add retracts. "Servoless Retractable Landing Gear Set" would work well in this plane.
 IOANNIS 2 points
if you use the 3s set up the plane have no power to fly with retracts
FlavioAraujo  10 points - 4/23/2012

Someome have used 3s? It is enough?
 -Myst- 23 points
I try it with a 3s, but if you want to make fast flies, you must to chose 4s
 FlavioAraujo 10 points
Ok,thanks, but since I am newbie in jets, you think it should be easier with 3 or 4s?
 -Myst- 23 points
It should be easier with 4s for take-off

For 4s what capacity can fit in battery compartment? the same 2200 -2800? 4000mah is too much, since I already have 4000mah for a p51....
 -Myst- 23 points
for 4s, I use a 2200mah turnigy nanotech. I think 4000mah is too heavy
FlavioAraujo  10 points - 4/11/2012

Where I can find this suggested motor b3830? and a good edf64mm 6-blade. When I try to search it,doesn´*t show it.
 FlavioAraujo 10 points
I boought this motor Turnigy 2615 EDF Outrunner 4800kv for 55/64mm, and this fan: EDF Ducted Fan Unit 7Blade 2.5inch 64mm, this is a good choice to run it at 3s ?
 -Myst- 23 points
Yes, very good choice. You must choose 2200-2800mah 3s 25-30c nanotech for best performance. I think you can try this motor with 4s

can anyone tell me which set of retracts would work best with this model, whilst not being too heavy? thank you

product code for motor and fan unit please im planning to use 2200mah 3s nanotech..
 le943 19 points
Hi I fly this with a HK2826 EDF 3800kv Motor and a 6 Blade Ducted Fan Unit (SKU:OR003-00104-6b). Flies great and lots of power. Also a thrust tube made a big difference. A soda cup from Mc Donalds or somewhere with the botom cut out make a good thrust tube.
 FlavioAraujo 10 points
Do you thing is a good choice use a 7-blade edf unit with a 4800 kv motor 2615 , and a 70 A esc for 3s?
Caulnian  5 points - 12/21/2011

Can I use the EDF and motor from my F18 Blue Angels also from Hobbyking?
 JORDI 8 points
i have used the F-5's EDF, and it's flying very well, I think that is possible this EDF has a few power, Bye.
 Kellyann 16221 points
Caulnian you will have to supply your own edf and edf motor. Listing says EDF: 64mm (NOT INCLUDED). This is strange HK normally supplies the duct.
 Caulnian 5 points
Kellyann please read my question.
 Kellyann 16221 points
Caulnian I did I was adding to JORDI: This plane reqires this: B3830 Brushless Outrunner 4300kv (NOT INCLUDED) But the one in the F18 is: Motor: B2025 Brushless Inrunner (4300KV) EDF Diameter: 64mm. Yes it is the same out side size 64mm but yours is far less powerfull. They both will spin aat the same speed give the same battery. But less thrust different fan SO NO NO

good night, I think that F5's power motor it's poor for this jet, but i have been flyng three or four times whit this motor, it flies good, but it needs more power. Last week I received a new 64mm impeller for my T-45 (the other was broken for a crash) next week I will put the new impeller in the old t-45's motor, with this motor It flies better. Bye.

THE BEST ITS USED A NEW EDF 64MM rC lANDER AND 2200 NANOTECH 4S
 theSelf 45 points
is that with a 4300kv RC lander 64mm? thanks for confirming
joumana  23 points - 11/26/2011

Hi,is that motor good or too much for a 4S system(to use of course on that plane) IDproduct=11160 I will give credits for the best answers
 Kellyann 16221 points
joumana most 3830 do not like to go above 13volts, so yes a 4s would burn out your motor quite quickly. I hope this helps.

Hello, I would like to buy this kit using my old motor and esc from my heli. would this fit? 1. Turnigy E500 6T 4000Kv 200W Heli Motor 2. TowerPro H40A Brushless Speed Controller Your response is highly appreciated. Thank you
 dhonext 69 points
Hi Guys, I would like to buy this plane with the following power system: PRODUCT ID: OR003-00105-5B, PRODUCT ID: E500-06, PRODUCT ID: ESCH40A. Please let me know your thoughts :=)
 zac077 6 points
I THINK BETTER TO PUT MOTOR 4800 KV AND 60A BRUSHELLES SPEED CONTROL IF U FLY WHIT 3S 3000MAH THEN IF U USE 4S 2650MAH BETTER TO USE A 3600 KV MOTOR AND IT WILL FLY PERFECTLY AND FAST..... WHIT 3S SETTING U WILL NOT DO LOOPING ETC..ETC...

Hello, can i put the Alloy DPS Series 68mm EDF in place instead of the 64mm fan? Also is there room for battery 4S 3300mah?

you don't need mixing. one channel for each control surface. you have one servo for both ailerons

Can someone recommend a Motor and 64mm EDF combo that will work well with this jet on 2200Mah 3S lipo's. I do understand that 4S would work better, but I don't want to have to purchase yet another set of batteries. I'm just after a simple EDF jet to have some fun with and this looks fairly cheap. I'm usually just heli's (250, 450, 550) and indoor foam planes, just wanted to try something different.
 gosnuts 18 points
I am setting up mine with the 4800kv OBL motor. I use this motor on my 64mm F18 before, and it has plenty of thrust
 Leonardo 8 points
A good combination, im using this: cyclone turbojet 4500 kv edf 14.8 volts 3300 mah skywing 80 amps ecs Thrust tube and intake lips The performance are very good and you can do unlimited vertical climb.But..yo need put a carbon fiber bar in the wing!!!!.

2 thumbs up!
I had one of these a while ago, and it was awesome. Really stable in flight and beautiful too. I crashed it when I was distracted for a second, but as soon as these are in stock I'll buy another one. I will use a Turnigy 2615 4800kv motor with a 40 amp ESC to get a better than 1:1 thust to wieght ratio.
I recommend these to anyone with some flight experience, they are fantastic jets. And of course you can easily mod them to add rudder.

1 thumbs up!
This is a real EPO kit, not the old sapac foam!!!
There are some new details and new improvements: ailerons linkage, elevator struts are stronger, better canopy and cockpit, better wheels.
Seems a good kit to work with. Thank you HK!

Received it yesterday. There is no fan in the kit as described. Looks nice but I can not say that the quality is exellent. The parts need to be reclued. The front landing gear shoul be reinforced. I'm going to fly it with origin Sapac EDF with Sapac Black Tornado 2853 4800KV motor.
