I have a Senior Telemaster and want to put floats on it for float flying. My question is the tele measures 56 inch from firewall to rudder post and I was told to use 75% length floats for any air plane. The 60 size floats are 38.2 inch which is only 68% the length I need. Do you think these floats will work OK.
Thanks YumaMike
Hello. I have a calmato trainer and I use Floats 40 size (800mm). I should have 970mm 75%. But it works well, although they are too small for the airplane.
So it should work for you
In my experience if the floats carry the weight of your a/c (generally the a/c floats with the hozontal centre line of the floats on or above the water line) and the step is just about on the cg point (some say slightly forward, some say slightly aft)then they will work. If the nose of the floats is too far aft of the prop they are likely to dig in and make it difficult to get up on the step and possibly flip forward on landing. It all becomes more critical the more heavily loaded the floats are.If lightly loaded then you can get away with almost anything!Have fun it's great to get on and off the water and a real buzz the first time.
I also have a Senior Telemaster (electric). I have the .40 size floats for flying off snow but use the .60 size for flying off water. The bigger floats add a extra margin of safety for an already heavy airplane.
2/3 is the minimum size to use for your plane, 75% is on the large side.

Excelente produto, instalei em um Arrow 46 Hangar 9 e ficou muito bom, o segredo esta no Cg, respeitando o manual não tem como errar. Abraços

These are great 38" floats. The shape is perfect and the tracking streaks are moulded right in. Quite light for its quality. Excellent fibreglass work and great paint finish. I mounted it on a Hobbico Hobbistar with 71" wingsspan with great success - the supplied mounting hardware is a great help - check the video box to see it in action.

I ordered these floats for my H.K. DCH2 Beaver. It took almost 3 weeks to get to the United States.
I expected there to be damage to the box due to their size. The box was in perfect condition, as was the inner box with the packing, bubble wrap, and air cells.
However, when I pulled the floats out, one had a 1 1/2 inch CRACK on it. Now, the way these floats were placed in the carton tells me that the float was damaged BEFORE shipping! There is no way that float got damaged during it's trip to the U.S.A.!
I have sent a total of 22 photos of the box, the floats and how they were packed. Still no determination on behalf of Hobby King! Hobby King obviously has a Quality Control issue in Hong Kong. IF, these would have been looked at before shipping, I would not be having this issue with Hobby King!
Oh, by the way, this was my 36th order with them, and it WILL be my last!....F.Y.I.
Has anyone else had damage issues like this with Hobby King???

Oh, I forgot to mention that the overall construction of these floats is very good.
Also, I paid MORE for shipping to the U.S.A., than the cost of the floats themselves!!!
I think I will now deal ONLY with AMERICAN Hobby Suppliers!....
Have never had any problems like this with them!.....

This is in addition to my 2 Reviews earlier.
I got determination of the damaged float that was sent to me. It was an APPOLOGY, and a $5.00 Store Credit!!!...What a kick in the ass from a company that I have done business with for a very long time.
I paid $45.00 for the Floats, and $50.00 for Shipping costs to get the floats here in the U.S.A..... I don't think I can adapt my DHC2 Beaver to fly with ONE float?????
That WAS my LAST ORDER with your fine Company Hobby King!
You can SHOVE your $5.00 Store Credit!...
