HK told me that the module is 0.7.
nicope  1 points - 3/26/2013

Is it 0.7 or 1.0 module?
 TurboLeon 40 points
It does not work with the main gear on my 550 V1 clone (550 16T pinion does), not sure what module that makes it :)
chris71  3 points - 3/2/2013

will this fit turnigy t600 motor?
 TurboLeon 40 points
Yes, it fits. This is for 6mm shaft, and T600 has a 6mm shaft.
 Dongskie 228 points
How about the module? is this 1.0module?
 nicope 1 points
Dear Nicola , Thanks for contacting the HobbyKing Support Team. This pinion's modulus is 0.7mm

May I use threadlocker on in ?
 Brheli 158 points
yeah th green or the red one

yes I use threadlocker in all my pinions and in It too No problem
 Mathew 8 points
Use Red Thread locker as this is high strength and the motor RPM will require it! Use blue thread locker for general purpose on the heli.

Is this too many teeth for Turnigy 600 4030 1400kv on 6 cells in HK600GT ? What minimum size ESC will be safe ?
 Neyadhish 5 points
HI,
Here is is the formula to select pinion:
Calculated RPM = Motor's KV * lipo cell voltage * lipo cells * constant

So, here is how yours look:
1400 * 3.87 * 6 * .8 = 26006 rpm

Now calculate the gear ratio by diving calculated RPM, 26006 by expected RPM of your heli. Align recommends 1600rpm for T-rex 600 for hovering. So,

Your gear ratio = 26006/1600 = 16.25

This means that you should get at least 16T or 17T for your 1400KV motor.

Personally I suggest you buy a lower KV motor

Sorry. No elephant stamp for this maths. Nearly but not quite. You calculated the estimated Pinion RPM. Now to work out the number of pinion teeth with a main gear teeth count of 170 for head RPM of 1600. t = 1600x170/26006 or 10.45. So between 10 and 11 teeth for 1600 RPM. Similarly 12 teeth will give me a calculated head speed of 1837 RPM. My mistake was that I thought Align supplied a 10T pinion and a 1100KV motor for a head speed of about 2000 RPM. In fact I've now been told by dgcarter in the T600-1400 motor Questions that T-Rex motor is 1620 RPM. So their calculated head speed would be 1770 & now the 12 or 13 tooth pinion on 1400KV makes sense. But thank you for taking the trouble to reply. No Elephant stamp but a shop credit for effort.

Hi, I did not make it up. My first heli was a mini titan and you can find this formula in the manual. Since then I always follow it and never gone wrong.
 plasticbaldy 353 points
Sure you didn't 'make it up' & I thank you for your answer. But it calculates the gear ratio. 16.25 is NOT the number of pinion teeth. The gear ratio still needs to converted into pinion teeth by dividing the number of main gear teeth by 16.25 to get the required number of pinion teeth. 16 pinion teeth with 170 main gear teeth gives a gear ratio of 10.6

Going to try one of these along with the T600-880kv motor on 10S. The calculator says ~2200 RPM at reasonable amperage...

what size motor shaft does this fit 5mm or 6mm
 Kennamer 29 points
It's in the title: HK600GT Pinion Gear 13T 6mm
 o1hoegetter 1616 points
i found it fit a 6mm motor shaft
 Straight Up 743 points
I bought one and it fits the 6mm shaft on my Turnigy 600 H37404 Brushless Outrunner 910kv

What is the pitch?
 fathead431 575 points
i aggree, what is the pitch?
 Dongskie 228 points
i agree 3rd, pitch?

i need 32pitch 10t pinions pls!
 SBAlv 96 points
Assuming that HK-600 gears are compatible with the TRex-600, this pinion's modulus is 0.7 mm, or 0.0276 inches. The pitch is the inverse of the modulus, so this gear's pitch is 36. It looks to me that this pinion's teeth are to small for your application, Donqskie... You will need bigger ones. The 0.8 Mod pinion would be the one for you. Its pitch will be exactly 32.

Hey, younger engineers, correct me if I made any mistake, please!
 Dongskie 228 points
*SBAlv: I believe you :)

I got two of these gears on my list both with the same part number (H60166) but diferent price one is $0,99 the other $0.89 ,,,,,,just asking , why two at diferent priceses ????.
 CeeJay 2091 points
If a 32 pitch gear is run against a Mod-0.8 one of them will become 'toothless' in time, quite possible a short time depending on composition.
 scarletboa 349 points
this is great! now hobbyking just needs to release these in more sizes up to at least 20t. i've been waiting a long time for affordable 6mm pinions.

Get ready to WAIT six or MORE M O N T H S for them. I could have gnawed them out with my teeth faster!

This pinion does not fit the Turnigy 600T 1100kv motor (or the Align 600M 1220kv)!
 Straight Up 743 points
A 6mm pinion doesn't fit on a 5mm shaft? What are the odds?
 Straight Up 743 points
Sorry Charles. Not all of my comments are intelligent. I see that motor has a 6mm shaft so this pinion should have fitted. Thanks for bringing this to the attention of the other customers. My apologies for my stupid remark.
 Straight Up 743 points
CHARLES: You were VERY unlucky. I bought this pinion for my Turnigy 600 H37404 Brushless Outrunner 910kv which has a 6mm shaft and it fits perfectly. I suspect the first batch weren't any good, but the current batch are definitely 6mm, as described.

Good to have this as spare because you never know when you'll need it. You'll get around 1900 headspeed with 1100kv motor on 6s

This pinion does not fit the Turnigy 600T 1100kv motor (or the Align 600M 1220kv)! I have tried this pinion on several motors with 6mm shafts and it does not fit. This must be a 5mm.
